Waiting room

We have heard about waiting room in railway stations but this one is different. Simbu Devan, who gave us a sensational hit 'Imsai Arasan 23aam Pulikesi' with Vadivelu in the lead role(s), is now making a film titled 'Arai En 305il Kadavul', meaning 'God in Room no 305'. The room has now become a waiting room. It is waiting for the versatile actor Prakash Raj. Though the comedians Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu have important roles in the film, it is Prakash Raj, who handles the lead role. The actor with his busy schedule in various languages finds little time to come for the shooting of this film and the entire team is waiting for him. Though it has turned out to be a long wait, Simbu Devan is not bothered. For him, the character, and the film for that matter, won't be complete without the great actor's contribution. 'Arai En 305il Kadavul' is said to be another hilarious fare with a fantasy as its central point.

No room for difference between Salman and me: Sooraj Barjatya

Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya has denied reports that superstar Salman Khan wanted him to cut short some of the songs in their forthcoming family drama "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" to reduce its timeline. He says there is “no room for any difference” between them. There are reports that Salman was not happy with the length of the film and therefore asked Barjatya to cut short some of the songs as audiences will not love the film's length. However, Barjatya says the news is “completely false” and the two have “immense love and respect for each other". “I have no idea where these rumours are coming from. They are completely false. Salman bhai and I have immense love and respect for each other and there is no room for any difference. We are both very proud of the film we have made,” Barjatya said in a statement. Salman and Barjatya, who are returning to the silver screen together after almost two decades, have worked in hit films “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!” and “Hum Saath - Saath Hain”.

Not enough room for IPL spectators in Dharamsala

Around 20,000 cricket fans, most of them from outside, are expected for each of the two Indian Premier League (IPL) matches here this month, but they had better look for accommodation outside this small town. Match organisers have booked most hotels for players, officials and mediapersons well in advance. “We have somehow managed to book more than 500 rooms in and around the town for the players, officials, mediapersons and others associated with the IPL. But we are coordinating with the state government to provide good accommodation to the spectators too,” said Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) president Anurag Thakur. He said around 20,000 spectators are expected to witness each of the matches April 16 and 18 at the picturesque HPCA stadium here. “To accommodate foreign players, the Pavilion complex of the HPCA is under construction. We will manage to complete 32 luxurious rooms in two wood cottages near the stadium,” said Thakur, the MP from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. “Initially, we were planning to construct 90 rooms, but due to time constraints we decided to construct 32 rooms only,” he added. He was sure that despite the absence of a five-star hotel in the town, the players’ stay in huts made of imported wood would be a memorable one. The HPCA stadium, about 250 km from Shimla, has a seating capacity of 20,000, besides separate practice areas, a club lounge, restaurant, bar and banquet hall. The representatives of the hospitality industry admitted that the spectators might face problems in getting suitable accommodation. The town has 56 registered hotels and guesthouses with a bed capacity of 1,100. Similarly, McLeodganj, eight kilometres from Dharamsala, has around 91 registered hotels with a capacity to accommodate 1,000 people. “We are expecting 20,000 spectators for both the matches. We are advising the spectators to look for accommodation in nearby towns like Palampur, Kangra and Baijnath,” HPCA spokesperson Sanjay Sharma said. Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) general manager Yogesh Behl said: “All the five HPTDC hotels in Dharamsala have been booked by the HPCA well in advance. But we still have rooms at our hotels in Palampur and Jawalaji.” “Our officials are advising cricket fans to get bookings at Palampur and Jawalaji as both the towns are located within a 40-km radius of the stadium. There is no problem of transportation even during odd hours. Moreover, at Palampur one could visit tea estates too,” he said. The HPCA Stadium, located at an altitude of 4,000 feet, will host a match between Kings XI Punjab and Deccan Chargers April 16. It would be a day and night match. The second match, which will be played in the day, is between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab April 18. Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal will be chief guest for the first match while the Dalai Lama will do the honours for the second match.

Playboy Centre-Spreads in our Hostel Room, says Big B

'Yes, we had Playboy centre-spreads in our hostel room,' admitted Amitabh Bachchan in a television interview yesterday. Now, there's no point in being morally judgmental about an icon having a fetish for busty babes in his youth. Everybody does that. So, why get after Big B's life and question him. Alright, young age is fine, but why did he play the Sexy Sam in Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' and he seems to be the lust-interest of an eighteen year old in Ram Gopal Verma's 'Nishabd'.? That's the question a television channel repeatedly asked yesterday on prime time. Again, I would like to say, Sexy Sam in KANK is a great character. He is over sixty, lonely, has had two heart attacks, and wants to have a little bit of fun in the open and is not apologetic about it. What's wrong in that! Don't the senior citizens have a lust quotient? Or are they supposed to be celibate, just to appease the sensibilities of the politically correct decorum. Big B is pushing the envelope, is still doing roles that surprise you with its novelty value and continues to be the leading man (Although he wouldn't admit that). And I think that's a great achievement. If we see a fifty five plus Harrison Ford doing explicit lovemaking scenes in a Hollywood flick, we are OK with that. But, a Hindi film has to follow norms. Why? It's time News Channels found something better to debate. As for Mr Bachchan'.Well done Sir. Just Keep It Up!
