Bollywood actress Dia Mirza has been named the ambassador for Swachh Bharat Mission's youth-based 'Swachh Saathi' (student internship) programme. The 'Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein' star will take forward the message of the government's 'Swachh Saathi' programme, which she hails as the most important part to realise the dream of a clean country. "Swachh Bharat is among the most important initiatives taken up by the government and I believe that the Swachh Saathi programme will be an extremely important part of our dream to realise a clean, healthy and environmentally conscious youth and country," Dia, 34, said in a statement. Under the Swachh Saathi programme, more than 2,000 interns would be enrolled, who would coordinate with around 10,000 schools across the country and ensure that all students in these schools take the pledge for Clean India, the statement read. "Dia is a youth icon and has been an active campaigner for Swachh Bharat. We felt that she would be the best person to help us reach out to more youngsters. Our aim is to make it a viral youth led movement," Swachh Bharat Mission director Praveen Prakash said. As the ambassador, the actress would interact with school and college students from across the country through awareness sessions, community cleaning activities and motivational videos. "Over the years I have tried to engage as many minds as possible to understand that our planet and our country need the immediate involvement of all its citizens, so that we can take responsibility and make our world a better place to live in," Dia said.
Deepika Padukone's 'Tere Saath Tu' is antithesis to 'Agar Tum Saath Ho'
The latest buzz from B-Town is that the gorgeous Deepika Padukone has given food for thought in the campaign to her fashion line brand, 'All About You - by Deepika Padukone.' Bollywood diva's fashion brand for women, in association with Myntra today launched its first brand campaign highlighting its core philosophy. Centered on the theme- 'You are your biggest strength' and can conquer anything when 'you are with you', it celebrates an individual's personal strength as she takes on personal and professional challenges in life, devoid of all external influences. Going by the ideas shared by the 30-year-old actor, lyricist of the latest TVC came up with the lyrics 'Tere Saath Tu'. The crux of the TVC as it is rightly mentioned is 'Tere Saath Tu' which revolves around an individual's self belief. It is ironical that the lyrics of this TVC are in complete opposition to Deepika's chartbuster song, 'Agar Tum Saath Ho'. The song featured the actress longing for companionship in Love, while the video of 'All About You's TVC, the 'Bajirao Mastani' actress is seen shunning external support and believing in her inner strengths. The campaign, which celebrates individuality and ones inner strength, has been given a direction by the actress herself. The actress showed her creative side by sharing her thoughts; this further gave direction to her team to design the campaign in an effective manner. While the screenplays of both these content pieces are in completely opposition, both 'Tere Saath Tu' and 'Agar Tum Saath Ho' rightly highlight instances in one's life, where we are ought to undergo respective emotions. It is fascinating, how beautifully Deepika has presented both these diverse emotions and life phases to her audience, giving both a notion of self realization and motivation.

Enacting the role of a simple man called Debu who works in a radio station, Irrfan plays a character who meets a woman [Konkana Sen Sharma] through a matrimonial website, meets for a date, separates, meets again and then separates again [whew] to leave the stage open for a suspense over whether the two would ever meet. Sakthi pairs with Sandhya
Director P. Vasu's son Shakthi hasn't signed up for any film after his debut in 'Thottal Poo Malarum', released last year. Though the film failed to make any waves in the market, Shakthi's performance was appreciated well. But the young man was not in a hurry to accept new films. He wanted to wait till he gets a good script. It seems he has found one in 'Magesh, Saranya, Matrum Palar' (MSMP). The movie will be directed by a newcomer P.V. Ravi, who was working with director Lingusamy as an assistant director. Sandhya plays the heroine, while Keerthi Chawla and Daniel Balaji play important roles. Vidyasagar does the music. Ravi informs that the movie deals with a love affair, which is whole heartedly supported by the parents. Then what is the story all about? Is it a different story with love being just a backdrop? No, says the director. It is a love story but the twist in the tale will be something unexpected, he claims. Shakthi is confident that this movie would provide him with the right break.
