Filmmaker Saawan Kumar was the chief guest at the music release of Producer Kesar Kothari's and Director Farukh Masudi's forthcoming film Rehguzar - The Road to Destiny in Mumbai on Wednesday. Released by Times Music, the music of the film has songs composed by Aadesh Srivastava, and sung by a veritable Who's Who of Bollywood today, which goes as follows: Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Abhijeet, Alisha Chinoy, Shaan, Adnan Sami, Shreya Ghoshal, Aadesh Srivastava and Sukhvinder Singh.
'Saawan' - A film about a man who can see tomorrow!
Now when one reads such an introduction about a movie, the references that come to mind are last year's 'Nazar' & 'Naina' along with around a decade old '100 Days'. Common factor in each of the three flicks was that basically they were all thrillers with a dash of horror. Also, the main protagonist in the films had the power to see the future, mostly centered on unfortunate incidents. But, 'Saawan - The Love Season' is different because though the crux of the plot remains same, the execution and overall theme is completely different. Instead of presenting the film as a horror show, producer/director Saawan Kumar has made 'Saawan' as a love story with some ingredients of thrills and drama, but no horror. So all you film buffs, don't worry about catching any scares and go watch the film that has Salman Khan at his towering best!

SAAWARIYA advance booking is a surprise
If a highly placed official at one of the biggest multiplex chains across the country is to be believed, SAAWARIYA advance booking has been nothing short of a pleasant surprise. He says on the condition of anonymity, "Even if OM SHANTI OM opens at 100%, no one would be surprised. Everyone is pretty much prepared to face such a situation due to the Shahrukh Khan factor combined with immense buzz and hype." "What has surprised me though is the way audience seems to be making queues for SAAWARIYA advance booking", he adds, "Expect for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, on the face value one can't add much to the hype. Ok, so Ranbir and Sonam are there but in the end they are still newcomers. This is why it is refreshing to see that audience are willing to give the film a dekko even as they are all going for OM SHANTI OM."
SAAWARIYA fails completely in second week
All claims by the makers of SAAWARIYA stating that the film was finally finding an audience in the second week have proved to be untrue. The film has seen a massive fall in the second week and what seemed like at least an average status for the film has also come under a threat. Though the first week billing of SAAWARIYA was much better than just being face saving with as much as 20 crores coming in, more than 80% fall in collections as per the reported centers in the second week shows the writing clear on the wall. Film has seen a terrible decline all over with major cities like Mumbai accounting for mere 65 lakhs and Delhi being poor at 35 lakhs. Further nail in the coffin has been barely 2-3 shows per multiplex that now remain for the film in it's 3rd week. On the other hand JAB WE MET has shown a huge increase in it's fifth week and is now back with close to 6 shows at majority of multiplexes. The way SAAWARIYA is going, it may well be time for it's DVD release by the time DUS KAHANIYAAN takes over the screens on 7th December. GOAL looks at 100% collections over the weekend
