Sabari - Action-packed shoot

Vijayakanth's forthcoming film Sabari is being shot at a hectic pace by director Suresh. Unfortunately the shooting for the movie was cancelled on Thursday following a minor kerfuffle at the shooting spot in Puducherry. A scene involving Vijayakanth and actress Manjari was being shot at the famous Siva Temple in Puducherry. Since the shooting was on since the morning, the temple premises were closed to facilitate the shooting. Apparently annoyed at being denied an entry into the temple, a section of local residents had raised the issue with the crew. Vijayakanth quickly left the scene, leaving the matter to be sorted by the film's team. The cast and crew too decided to pack their bags. Sabari, which is Vijayakanth's 150th film, is produced by Salem Chandrasekhar and features Jyothirmayi and Malavika in lead roles. Normally, Vijayakanth's films are action-packed. In Sabari's case, even the shoot has turned out to be so.

Sabari will change the trend for Vijayakanth

Vijayakanth's last release Dharmapuri featured the actor in the lead role, mouthing his aspirations. However, his next release Sabari would be different. According to director Suresh, 'We have ensured that the movie would be apolitical. It is a film which dwells about the evils in the society and suggests a remedy for it. Vijayakanth plays a doctor and he has very less dialogues in the movie.' Says Suresh, 'Vijayakanth completed the dubbing in less than six hours. He speaks less but does more in the movie. He is a brainy and brawny doctor.' Jyothirmayi and Malavika play the heroines while Pradeep Rawat plays the baddie.
