More Projects for distribution, as well as for acquisition, production & Co production are in the pipeline from Sahara One Motion Pictures.
Sahara One Motion Pictures' 'Kaccha Limboo' almost complete
Sagar Bellary, the Director who arrived in style with his path breaking satirical comedy "Bheja Fry" is now ready to enthrall his audiences once again with his latest film 'Kaccha Limboo' which is being produced by Sahara One Motion Pictures. Kaccha Limboo is almost at completion stage and currently being edited and going through post-production. The film, based on a thirteen year old, deals with all the conflicting emotions that a teenager undergoes and how he responds to it. The film stars newcomer Tahir Sutterwala in the lead with stalwarts like Atul Kulkarni and Sarika along with Vinay Pathak and Rukhsar who are both playing cameos. The Screenplay and Dialogues are by Sagar Ballary, Jyoti Kapoor and Manaswini L.R; Music has been composed by Amardeep & Floyd, Director of Photography is Parixit Warrier, Audiographer is Tapas Nayak, Editor is Suresh Pai, Art Director is Sukant Panigrahy and Costume Designer is Archana Rao. The Executive Producer is Sagar Bellary's company Park Bench Motion Pictures.
Music Channel From Sahara One Soon
Sahara One Media and Entertainment Limited is all set to expand its bouquet of entertainment businesses. The company, fresh from the extremely successful launch of the Hindi Movie Channel FILMY, is now poised to launch yet another Cable & Satellite channel in the near future. Shailendra Singh, Head, Sahara One, said, "I am delighted to inform that we will soon be launching our next channel, which will be a Hindi Music channel. It will cater to millions of music lovers across India and worldwide. Along with Sahara One Television and FILMY, our Music Channel will complete the genres of mass Hindi entertainment from Sahara One, and will strengthen our bouquet immensely." Sahara One's forthcoming Hindi Music channel will showcase the best of Hindi music from Bollywood films and non-film albums, along with music events, original programming, and much more. It will be recalled that Sahara One recently achieved an extremely successful launch of Hindi movie channel FILMY, which , within a month of its launch, achieved a reach of 40 million homes in India. In fact, FILMY's launch performance has been the best ever witnessed by any channel since January 2005. FILMY has been noticed for its innovative positioning and content, which has seen its viewership grow by 67% from Week 1 to Week 4. The company's flagship channel, Sahara One Television, too has been going from strength to strength. Thanks to its innovative programming, the channel has seen its prime time viewership increase by 78 per cent, with a 400 percent increase in ad revenues and close to 275 advertisers on board. Sahara One is confident that its forthcoming Hindi Music channel too will be equally well received.
Bheja Fry fame Director Sagar Ballary for 3 films
Sahara One Motion Pictures (SOMP), commissions 'Bheja Fry' fame director Sagar Ballary. Mr. Ballary who has carved his niche in the genre of comedy films will be directing three films for Sahara One Motion Pictures. The latest addition to the kitty of Gen X film-makers, Sagar has directed 'Bheja Fry' on a shoestring budget of 60 lacs, which went on to become one of the most commercially successful movies of this year, grossing 12 crores theatrically. The script of the first film under this arrangement is in its final stages and the project shall be going on floor by end of this quarter. The plots for other two projects have also been finalized by SOMP and scripting of the films will start soon. On this occasion, Seemanto Roy, Head ' Sahara Media & Entertainment Business said, "We welcome Mr. Sagar Ballary on board. We are sure that this association with Mr. Sagar will cater to quality cinema." He further said, "For the past one year we have been working on remodeling of our motion pictures business. By the first half of the next year audience will see many great movies from the stable of Sahara One Motion Pictures. " Sagar Ballary said, "It gives me great pleasure to be associated with Sahara One Motion Pictures. After Bheja Fry, I want to provide a diverse platter to the audience and I am glad that Sahara One Motion Pictures has provided me that platform and a wider canvas. My first film with Sahara is another funny film called Kaccha Limboo, a story of a fat, goofy thirteen year old boy who is caught amidst conflicting worlds of peer-pressure, puppy love, familial frustrations and high-school dilemmas. Unable to cope he follows his dream world of rebellion, runs away from everything in an attempt to carve out a special identity for himself. The film is a super adventure, a complete family entertainer."
Sunny-Arjun-Udita-Sagarika for FOX
Zee Motion Pictures along with Rohit Kumar's maiden venture FOX took off on 5th May, with its 1st schedule on various locations in Mumbai. The film is directed by Deepak Tijori and stars Sunny Deol, Arjun Rampal, Sagarika Ghatge, Udita Goswami and debutante Vipul Gupta.
Monty to compose music for Bhansali's Sawariya
He was Ismail Darbar's assistant on the keyboard. He is today his replacement. Monty, nephew of music director Pyarelal has replaced Ismail Darbar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Sawariya. The background score in Devdas and Black that took truck loads of filmfare awards home last weekend was done by Monty. The genius that he is, he has been awarded an opportunity to present his talent as a music director full throttle. Any way Sanjay is in the mood to experiment and do something new and different. It seems Monty and Sanjay are working on the music of the film to come out with something very new and sparkling for the ears. Sawariya marks the debut of Ranbir Kapoor (son of Rishi Kapoor) and Sonam Kapoor (daughter of Anil Kapoor). The film also stars Rani Mukherjee and Salman Khan. The news abuzz in the industry is that the film may also have an A- category Hollywood star. Well as of now we can only keep guessing who it will be.
