The funny man Sajid Khan is going in the lines of direction like his sister Farah Khan and brother-in-law Shrish Kunder. His yet untitled film stars Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Vidya Balan. He has already directed a small part of Ram Gopal Varma's horror flick "Darna Zaroori Hai". Sajid has no plans of casting himself in his movie.
Sajid-Wajid look to strike with 'THE KILLER'
For composers Sajid-Wajid, 'THE KILLER' could well turn out to be the most crucial soundtrack ever in their career. With their biggest hit being 'YAAD' that had songs by Sonu Nigam, they have been on the Bollywood scene for around a decade now. Still the composer duo is waiting to be firmly established amongst the wish-list of top notch film makers inspite of some popular numbers from 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya', 'Hello Brother', 'Chori Chori', 'Tere Naam' and most recently 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' and 'Jawani Diwani'. Even the debut album of Rahul Vaidya, 'Tera Intezar', has been composed by them but it unfortunately didn't get its due to it being under promoted. Not to loose heart, now they are ready with the score for Vishesh Films' 'The Killer' where they promise the arrival of new sounds. Knowing Bhatts penchant for quality music, one thing is for sure that there won't be any complains as far as the album's publicity is concerned. Now it all depends upon the actual merits of the album that should get the composer duo in the reckoning all over again!
Sajid Nadiadwala ties up with Fox Studios
India's prestigious Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd. became the first Indian production company with an office at Fox Studios for 'Heyy Babyy' being extensively shot in Australia. Speaking from the sets the Producer Mr. Sajid Nadiadwala said, 'It's a privilege for NGE to be the first Indian Company to be associated with FOX STUDIOS for 'HEYY BABYY'. The studio is simply the most up to date with the best integrated production facilities. Though content will always drive our foray into films, our company would always like to support our talented technicians with the best facilities for the changing needs of our audience. And the schedule is going through Hollywood precision. He adds, 'There is a buzz about our Industry that is unmistakable and the globalisation of Brand Bollywood, and adopting the highest standards will make us global. NGE believes in putting systems and processes in place to support this creativity.' NGE India is shooting its current film 'Heyy Babyy' extensively all around Australia . The film is being supported by NSW Tourism and NSW Government along with NSW Film & Television Office. 'Heyy Babyy' is the biggest multi starrer Bollywood film to ever come to Australia. 'Fox Studios Australia provides film makers from around the globe with the most up to date, integrated production and post production environment. We have been the home to many highly successful US films and now welcome our first Bollywood film to the lot. Our ongoing relationship with Mr. Nadiadwala's production office through his Australian line producer TEMPLE who are based at the studio will no doubt result in a successful experience for this production,' said Nancy Romano, CEO Fox Studios Australia today. Bollywood, the populist name given to Indian film industry is the biggest film industry in the World churning out maximum number of films a year with an audience of 1.3 billion around the world. Australian government and private agencies have been actively pursuing more trade and relations with Bollywood and 'Heyy Babby' is one of the biggest results of results of this drive. Australia also has more than 130 million dollars worth of India centric projects with development investment from NSW FTO, AFC, Film Victoria etc.
Sajid shifts 'HEYY BABYY' release for friend Salman's ' MARIGOLD'
Enterprising Producer Sajid Nadiadwala much awaited film 'Heyy Babyy' was starring Akshaye Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Vidya Balan was due to be released on July 27 th. But According to sources, when Sajid Nadiadwala got to know that Salman Khan's. International film 'Marigold' would be releasing on July 27 th, and even his other film 'Partner' around July 20th, the magnanimous producer shifted his film release to August 24 th. Considering that Salman Khan is his closest friend, the loyalist that he is when it comes to friendship, he went out of his way to accommodate 'Marigold' on July 27th. Says Sajid Nadiadwala " Salman is like Family to me. It would only be my pleasure to do anything for him. And hence we have confirmed the release of HEYY BABYY in August" Incidentally Sajid Nadiadwala film 'HEYY BABYY, directed by Sajid Khan is creating waves in the distribution circle. Considering the fact that his banner has always delivered on comedies like Judwaa, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, etc.. And additionally his trump card is the star-cast of the films who are master in this genre. Akshay Kumar forte being comedy, revels in this genre and a big box office draw, will be paired for the first time with Vidya Balan. Even Fardeen (No Entry), Ritesh Deshmukh (Masti, Apna Sapna Money Money and Bluffmaster) are proven entertainers in this genre too. Sajid Nadiadwala ropes in two directors for HEYY BABYY
Heyy Babyy is currently the hottest film in the market and the visual promotions on air and the absolutely hilarious theatrical trailers (playing in 1000 screens) already have the audiences in splits at the antics of the 3 heroes. And not leaving any stone still unturned producer Sajid Nadiadwala has created a mind boggling concept that has cost him a whopping Rs 2 Crores, to further promote HEYY BABYY. When asked about the camaraderie between two creative heads, since he got another director signed by his company, Saabir Khan to direct the promotional music video for HEYY BABYY, producer Sajid Nadiadwala clarifies, "At NGE (Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment), the rapport between all my directors is definitely competitive but not one of rivalry. Since the shooting of HEYY BABYY took place almost non-stop and director Sajid Khan was extremely occupied with the film's shooting, I requested my other film's director Saabir Khan to come up with a concept. And what he conceived was simply novel and is sure to add to the curiosity being created for the film. In fact the director Sajid Khan appreciated Saabir's efforts and both the film and the video were shot simultaneously at the same time on two different sets at Film City, by the 2 different directors." Throwing more light, director Sajid Khan says, "Saabir is like a brother to me and in fact whilst I was in the midst of delivering my baby in a record non stop 4 month delivery period, it was a welcome support when Sajid Nadiadwala, who views the making and marketing of movies from a larger perspective, roped in someone else to create this great marketing exercise." Before this, producer Aditya Chopra had got his director Kunal Kohli to assist in the making of the theatrical trailer of Salaam Namaste which was directed by Siddharth Anand. Sajid Nadiadwala goes a step further by getting his new director to direct a full fledged video no less for his magnum opus Heyy Babyy. Nadiadwala Grandson has always been a pioneer in marketing and promotions and once again the company has come up with a winner with Heyy Babyy. Since HEYY BABYY was shot in Australia, extensively in the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sydney, NGE came up with the unique idea of creating a promotional music video with the popular all girl singing stars, THE GIRL BAND, who are known as Spice Girls of Australia. THE GIRL BAND comprises of 4 young female singers, Patrice Tipoki (22), Jessica Smith (19), Renee Bargh (20) and Renee Armstrong (20), who are the current heart throbs, amongst Australian fans. Their recent single ' Electric' released by Sony BMG is a huge hit. THE GIRL BAND will be heard for the first time in an Indian film on the HEYY BABYY audio track for which this exotic promotional video was filmed on 3 sprawling sets at Film City, another set put up at Mukesh Mills and a chopper at Mumbai airport. A source present on the set reveals, "The song features the film's 3 heroes Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan & Ritesh Deshmukh doing a tantalizing strip act, no less. It is an absolutely exclusive song in English on the remixed version of the original title track, which is already on the music charts. All eyes are going to be on this video once its released. It's expected to create a riot." The music is by Shankar Ehsan Loy and the remix is by DJ Akbar Sami with English lyrics by Anvita Dutt Guptan. The results which will be on air soon are simply striking and will add to the attraction for already hyped up HEYY BABYY. In fact after watching the 4 minute music video on the GIRL BAND, a totally floored hero Akshay Kumar seriously suggested that they should try and incorporate it in the film as its novel concept is sure to sweep the film's audiences. The producer obliged to the extent of including the promotional music video in the end roll titles of the film. Explains producer Sajid Nadiadwala, "Yes Akshay was all excited on seeing the music video and was really keen we include it in our film, but since the water tight script could not accommodate it, we have included it in the end roll."
Sajid & Sajid hit Gold with Lion Clubs
Sajid Nadiadwala & Sajid Khan, riding high on the crest for the super success of 'Heyy Babyy', were the recipients of the Lion Clubs Gold Award 2007. Sajid Nadiadwala won the award for the best Wholesome Entertainer of the year for his lavish production Heyy Babyy. Also, Sajid Khan won the award for the best debut director of the year for his first super hit directorial venture Heyy Babyy. Both Sajid Khan & Sajid Nadiadwala were quite thrilled at receiving this honour. On receiving the prestigious award from the Lions Club, says Sajid Nadiadwala, "It is indeed a privilege and honour. I'm extremely grateful to the Lions Gold club for honouring me." Incidentally this is Nadiadwala's fifth Lion's award and Sajid Khan's first. "Many more to come for sure", quips funny man Khan!
