Sakshi Gulati, who makes her debut with Ram Gopal Varma's Contract, almost turned handicapped and lost her ability to hear, albeit for a few hours, during the shooting of the film. Recalling the incident the aspiring actress said, "It was an action scene that involved a bomb blast. I was tied to a tree and was leaning against it. Ram Gopal was set to roll the camera. But neither the unit nor I was aware that I was standing at a wrong place, just a few steps away from the bomb. The minute Varma yelled "Action" the bombed ripped off shaking me completely out of gear. I was too shocked and stunned to react. It was almost a near death experience. Really scary!" Sakshi continued, "The next thing I know is that I got all glass splinters in my hair and clothes and had suffered severe burn injuries at the back around the shoulder area. The impact of the blast was such that it left me completely deaf. I could not hear what Ram Gopal Varma and the unit members were trying to tell me. It was only after a gap of four hours that I could slightly begin to hear. My hearing abilities were completely restored only after seven hours. Imagine meri halat kya hoti thi had stood the other way round. I dread to even think about it."
Sakshi in trouble
It seems Sakshi Sivanand's middle name is trouble. Not long ago, the cute actress was caught in some land shenanigans in Hyderabad. But now the actress, who is very busy in Kannada, is in some problem with a director. The director, Chennagangappa, has in fact filed a complaint against the actress and sought Rs.30 lakhs from her. Sakshi is acting under Chennagangappa's direction in a movie named Soundarya. There was some misunderstanding over travel plans when the duo was shooting in the Swiss. Sakshi alleges that she had been committed to a US program. But the director, who held over her passport, did not allow her to travel. 'I suffered a loss of Rs.24 lakhs because of that,' Sakshi alleges and adds 'since he fears that I will file a complaint against him on this, he is trying to register false cases against me'. The director says that Sakshi created a lot of problem during the shoot of Soundarya in Switzerland and hence he was claiming damages from her. Well, well, who is saying the truth?

Sakthi pairs with Sandhya
Director P. Vasu's son Shakthi hasn't signed up for any film after his debut in 'Thottal Poo Malarum', released last year. Though the film failed to make any waves in the market, Shakthi's performance was appreciated well. But the young man was not in a hurry to accept new films. He wanted to wait till he gets a good script. It seems he has found one in 'Magesh, Saranya, Matrum Palar' (MSMP). The movie will be directed by a newcomer P.V. Ravi, who was working with director Lingusamy as an assistant director. Sandhya plays the heroine, while Keerthi Chawla and Daniel Balaji play important roles. Vidyasagar does the music. Ravi informs that the movie deals with a love affair, which is whole heartedly supported by the parents. Then what is the story all about? Is it a different story with love being just a backdrop? No, says the director. It is a love story but the twist in the tale will be something unexpected, he claims. Shakthi is confident that this movie would provide him with the right break.
Sakthi Chidambaram: Action gives him satisfaction
Director Sakthi Chidambaram has said that he would do only action movies henceforth. Speaking to media persons, the producer-director said, 'Directors who churn out mass action films hog limelight in Kollywood. Though I have churned out over dozen movies, I am still to hit the groove'. Sakthi is happy that his recent release 'Sanda' starring Sundar C and Nadhiya has managed a good collection at the box office. 'I would direct two films every year. They would be an action-packed commercial entertainer starring prominent heroes', he said. 'Though my earlier movies were laced with humor and managed good collections, I feel action movies alone will take me close to the masses'. Sakthi, who directed several films including 'Enama Kannu', 'Charlie Chaplin' and 'Englishkaran', has produced 'Pazhani' starring Bharath. 'I would continue to produce films. Plans are on to do a movie starring Bharath and another to be directed by Perarasu'.
