More news →Saurabh Shukla writes dialogues/screenplay for Salaam-E-Ishq
His stint with direction may not have got him the fame and adulation that he deserves but Saurabh Shukla is slated to get all that and lots more as Nikhil Advani directed 'Salaam-E-Ishq' releases soon. Reason? Shukla has been entrusted the responsibility of writing screenplay (where he is joined by Suresh Nair and Nikhil Advani) and dialogues for the film. Shukla is not new to the writing world as he co-scripted 'Satya' with Anurag Kashyap apart from also doing 'Mumbai Express'. In the recent months, he was seen as an actor in 'Home Delivery and 'Mixed Doubles' and was as always noticed for his act. Earlier Shukla has tried his luck in direction with 'Mudda' and 'Chehraa', both of which flopped miserably at the box office.
Kareena reinvented in 'Bombay Samurai'
Kareena Kapoor's career seems to be heading to an exciting new level with Dev Benegal's film "Bombay Samurai". Post-marriage, she seemed to flounder in her choices with her half-hearted crusader's role in Prakash Jha's "Satyagraha" and the totally inane social activist's role in "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein". With "Bombay Samurai", Kareena finally seems to have got her post-marriage formula right. According to sources, the film is "a crazy zany rollicking roller coaster ride with amazing twists and turns. There are seven to eight pivotal characters. But Kareena and Farhan (Akhtar) preside over the show". "They play a couple like no other seen before in our films. They are wacky and unpredictable. The two actors will have a ball playing their outgoing zestful characters," the source added. Both Kareena and Farhan were keen to work with one another. Says Farhan: "I've seen Kareena's work. She is consistently excellent. I was keen to work with her. Dev's film gives us a chance to try something different." Kareena expressed the highest admiration for Farhan: "I admire Farhan for being multi-talented. Which other director has done so well as an actor? Farhan took my breath away in 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'. I am really looking forward to working with him." The Farhan-Kareena film starts after Kareena's annual holiday in Switzerland in December. Incidentally, she goes on this annual Christmas-New Year holiday in Switzerland without fail every year with husband Saif Ali Khan.
Saurav Ganguly in films?
One of India's most successful cricket captains, Saurav Ganguly though retired is not too far from the spotlight as he does commentaries and is also a game show host. Now he seems poised to make his grand entry into films. The cricketer recently watched Telugu film, Golconda High School starring Sumanth and loved it so much he went ahead and bought the remake rights for the film. Now the film will be remade in Bengali and Ganguly himself is keen to play Sumanth's character, sources have reported. Given his natural flair it won't be surprising if he rocks in this new innings as an actor!
Vishnu at 'Sambrama Saurabha'
Dr.Vishnuvardhana and his 'Sneha Loka' team is playing a cricket match of 20:20 over at the National College grounds on coming Sunday in the morning with 'Sambrama Saurabha' cultural organization team. In the evening the team of 'Sneha Loka' lead by Dr.Vishnu are taking part in the cultural activities hosted by Sanjeev Kulkarni the evolver of the prestigious 'Sambrama Saurabha' that is reaching the 50th value based culturally relevant monthly event. 'Sambrama Kalagudi' will be inaugurated on this occasion. Ramesh Aravind, Shivaram, K.Manju, Vinayaprasad, politicians Ananthkumar, M Krishnappa, editor Vishveswara Bhat are participating in the musical evening rendered by Rajesh Krishnan, Mohan, Surekha and Pancham Halabandi. The international acclaimed painter B.K.S.Verma will participate in the ensemble of musical evening on 14th September evening. The program will be held at RV Dental University College situated in JP Nagar Bangalore. 'Sambrama Saurabha' evolved in the year 2004 on August 15 is a platform for spreading the culture, tradition, literature, love affection among the people. In the last 50 months 'Sambrama Saurabha' has been doing well thought out cultural events showcasing the talent in various fields.
