After SALAAM NAMASTE, Saif and Javed back with TRRP

One and a half years after the release of SALAAM NAMASTE, Saif Ali Khan, Javed Jaffri and director Siddharth Anand are reuniting with TA RA RUM PUM. In the film, Javed plays the character of Harry, a team manager. It is him who discovers the talent of Saif, a pit-crew worker in a racing team. He realizes the potential that Saif had in him to be in the big league as a car racer and works as his Manager to get him right up there. And soon Rajveer Singh [Saif Ali Khan] is turned into RV! Incidentally this is Javed's only release since the bizarre character he played in SALAAM NAMASTE.

Jaaved says Salaam Namaste to Hollywood

He was the funny landlord in Salaam Namaste. He tickles people's funny bones with his stand up acts in public and on television. Javed Jaffery has recently completed Richard Dreyfuss' film The Forest. It has been made with Ashwin Kumar (Little Terrorist fame). The film is an interesting story of three people and a child. He has also had a chat with many filmmakers and might be seen in three or four good films very soon. His career in films took a dip, as the offers that came his way after Meri Jung in 1985 were not upto the mark. He impressed the audience with his work in Jajantaram Mamantaram and Boom. His work on television also has been limited and less. Javed is planning to extend his work and wishes to direct a film in the near future. It is evident that the film will be very creative, as he had done the Maggi tomato ketchup commercials by himself with Pankaj Kapoor. That series of ads is still remembered. So we can say that the future is bright for Javed Jafffery.

'Salaam-E-Ishq' looks a guaranteed winner

One can sit back and relax. Why? Because one can be assured that 2006 was not a fluke year with numerous multicrore successes to its credit. 2007 too seems to be another extraordinary fare in succession and the film that should certainly begin it all is Nikhil Advani's blockbuster 'Salaam-E-Ishq'. First promo of the film is out and isn't it a stunner? Belonging to the Chopra and Johar school of film making, this exorbitant saga of 6 different couples, 12 different lives, 6 different worlds and one common problem - LOVE, is a sure shot winner in the making. First promo of the film was recently flashed and it has all in it to be a mega winner amongst both Indian and NRI audience. Produced by Sunil Manchanda and Mukesh Talreja, 'Salaam-E-Ishq' boasts of a mammoth starcast of Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Govinda, John Abraham, Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna, Sohail Khan, Ayesha Takia, Perizaad Zorabian, Anjana Sukhani and Shannon Esrechowitz along with Aroon Bakshi, Boman Irani, Tinu Anand, Vrajesh Hirjee and Viju Khote with Karan Johar in a special appearance.

Salaam-E-Ishq - The wait begins....again!

First 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna', then 'Don - The Chase Begins Again' and now 'Salaam-E-Ishq - A Tribute to Love'! It seems that Shankar Ehsaan Loy would indeed have a rocking year with as many as two mega hit scores behind them and expecting a third in a row. The film has created immense buzz in its 'limited edition' promo that came around Diwali and though the makers have (rightly) withheld it after teasing the Bollywood lovers, numerous sites have already picked it up from the small screen and posted it on hundreds of forums already. With a grand canvas presented by Nikhil Advani, director of 'Kal Ho Na Ho', and as many as 10 big stars in the film, there is no question about the fact that the film would be promoted aggressively. Also, there won't be much surprise in score if SEL have a third popular soundtrack in a row when the album hits the stands late November-early December. The wait begins....again!

Salaam-E-Ishq title song is a winner

The music of Nikhil Advani's 'Salaam-E-Ishq' releases on December 2, and much before the event, it is already inviting a lot of attention. After a stunning teaser that made people sit up and take notice of the film, the follow up has been equally good in the form of unleashing of the title song which is currently on air. Shot in a grandeur manner while featuring most of the starcast from the film, 'Salaam-E-Ishq' is a feel good celebration number in the style as made popular by Chopras and Johars over the years. Colorful and vibrant, the song is not just eye candy but also pretty catchy due to amalgamation of Indian rhythm and melody by composer trip of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Can't really wait to put hands on this album!

Salaam-e-ishq: Desperate Measures

MusicMazaa has been receiving press releases claiming that Nikhil Advani's 'Salaam-e-ishq' has received a bumper opening of Rs 50 crore across 1200 screens worldwide. The press release also claims that the film is a runaway success. Now, if a film has got off to a great start, such repeated press releases wouldn't have been doing the rounds in such a desperate manner. Alright, even if the mismatched 'Salaam-e-ishq' raked in huge numbers (Rs 50 crore is definitely a big exaggeration and we aren't buying that) it wasn't surprising considering the mammoth number of prints and no immediate rival big movie around the turntable. But will it continue to rake in the big moolah? Highly unlikely! For the public has more-or-less rejected the movie. Fine, one can say that the critics were biased and none of them moved beyond two stars. But even the ticket buying public is carrying long faces as they walk out of a marathon love tale with Sohail Khan's 'Huurrrrr' as the sour cherry on a deflated cake of romance. The worst part about Nikhil Advani's direction is the irreverence he shows towards his mentor Karan Johar as an 'opportunistic' filmmaker. Moreover, he has been tom-tomming about the 'script being the real hero' then why couldn't he have thought of something original. What one gets is a rehash of 'Love Actually', 'Raja Hindustani', 'Shall we Dance' and more. Salman Khan in an extended guest appearance and an irritating Akshaye Khanna pulls down a film. Unconditionally. I last heard a producer has signed Nikhil Advani for directing six films. Hmmmm'What advice would you give to him?
