Kovai Sarala - Comediennes grouse

After Manorama and Sachhu, Kovai Sarala was the most-accepted comedy actress. Her brand of dialogue delivery won her many admirers. Till not long ago, she formed impressive partnerships with the likes of Vivek, Vadivelu and other front-ranking male comedy artistes. But alas, Kovai Sarala has very little Tamil films on hand now. However, Sarala is not without movies. She is in fact very busy --- in Telugu, that is. Sarala has over 10 movies there and is well accepted there. There too, her unique brand of dialogue delivery (lot of Coimbatore accent) has on her fans. Sarala is happy that she has managed to leave her mark elsewhere too. But she has one grouse. 'There is no place for comedy actresses in Tamil now'. Things will change, she hopes.

PVP's 'Saala Khadoos' With Venky?

Unfazed by the disaster result of Brahmotsavam, producer PVP is keen on producing films unabatedly. The latest is that the star producer is going to team up with Venkatesh in his next. Already Venky has given his nod for the project which is the Telugu remake of 'Saala Khadoos', the story of a boxing champion. Venky, who is great lover of remakes, will step into the shoes of Madhavan and will be seen as boxer in the film. Sudha Kongara, a Telugu lady, who assisted maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam and directed the original, will be helming the remake as well. Venky would join the shoot after the release of his present commitment Babu Bangaram. After Bangalore Days and Oopiri, this is yet another remake for PVP. While Saala Kahadoos had its share of flaws, PVP and Venkatesh decided to correct them in the remake. So, Venky will be seen flexing his muscles as boxer. With Ghazi and now the remake of Saala Khadoos, and one more in the planning, PVP seems to be his hands full. It's learnt that PVP is contemplating to release three films this year.
