Samuthirakani Villain in Malayalam

After the success of ‘Sambo Shiva Sambo’, the Telugu remake of Tamil hit ‘Naadodigal’, Samuthirakani has become the toast of Tollywood. Ravi Teja and Venkatesh have showed interest to work under Samuthirakani and the director also said to have narrated a few stories to them. Samuthirakani is currently acting in a Sasikumar directed film. Meanwhile Samuthirakani will cross the borders to do a film in Malayalam. Malayalam director Padmakumar has signed Samuthirakani to play a villain opposite… you know who… the mega star Mohanlal. Great beginning and great gong as well.

Samuthirakani to bring top Telugu hero to Kollywood!

‘Nadodigal’ fame, director Samuthirakani is all set to bring the tollywood big hero young rebel star Prabhas to Tamil. Speaking about this the director said, “I will be making a bilingual, which will have Prabhas in the lead role. The film will be based on popular writer Indira Soundararajan’s novel ‘Sivam’. I am currently penning the screenplay and dialogues.” Samuthirakani, on speaking about his tollywood success, says “Working in Tollywood was a wonderful experience. I am happy that the film ‘Sambho Shiva Sambho’ won huge appreciation. Top actors like Ravi Teja and Allari Naresh acted in the movie, with Roja doing a special role.” Hope the movie becomes success in both tollywood and kollywood too.

Samuthirakani to direct K.Balachandar's last Script

Actor and director Samuthirakani is now planning to make a film with the last script penned by K.Balachandar before he has passed away. He himself will be featuring in it, and will also be bankrolling the project.Samuthirakani has said that KB sir wanted him to be the assistant director for this project and also feature in a role, but the project got stalled after his son passed away. The Nimirnthu Nil director is currently gearing up for the release of his film "Appa", and he says that he doesn't want to approach any producer to fund his upcoming film."The film was the dream of my guru, and I do not want to approach any producer and request them to fund it. So, I will be producing it myself, in addition to directing it" he said in an interaction with Times of India.

Samuthirakani Ramya Pandiyan new film Aan Devathai directed by Thamira

Actor-director Samuthirakani tasted huge success with his recent release 'Appa' which was laden with many relevant messages about child growth and education system. The film completed 75 days run in theaters which is a phenomenal achievement for any film these days. Samuthirkani's next release will be 'Kolanji' directed by Dhanaram Saravanan and produced by Naveen of 'Moodarkoodam' fame. He is also acting in a few other films. Now Samuthirakani who won this year's National Award for the Best Supporting Actor for his spell binding performance in 'Visaranai' has committed to act in a new film titled as 'Aan Devathai'. This film will be directed by Samuthikrani's erstwhile colleague Thamira who directed 'Rettaisuzhi' starring Iyakkunar Sigaram K.Balachander and Iyakkunar Imayam Bharathiraja in lead roles. The film released in 2010 and the director is making a comeback after a long gap of six years. It is worth recalling that Thamira and Samuthirakani are the former Associate directors of Balachander. 'Aan Devathai' will have Samuthirakani and Ramya Pandian of 'Joker' fame in lead roles. The supporting cast includes Kavin, Kasthuri. 'Poo' Ramu, Ilavarasu and many others. The film is completely based in Chennai. The film will deal with the impact of Globalisation and Urbanisation in the lives of common man in cities like Chennai. It will also speak about the differences between a child brought up by a single mother and a child brought up by a single father. 'Aan Devathai' will be produced by Thamira in association with Fakrudheen under his newly launched banner Sigaram Cinemas, named in memory his Guru K.Balachander. Ghibran will be rendering the musical score for this film. Vijay Milton will take care of cinematography. Mu.Kasi Viswanathan is in-charge of Editing. Johnson is the Art director. Run Ravi will design the stunt sequences.

'Sethu Samudhiram to shoot up!

Sethu Samudhiram is a controversial and hot issue that is rocking the entire nation. Producer - director Sanjay Ram, who rendered movies like 'Thoothukudi' and 'Veeramum Eeramum', will direct a movie titled 'Sethu Samudhiram'. It will feature Murali and Saravanan in the lead role. Vivek, 'Thoothukudi' fame Karthiga, Lakshaya, Krishna, Alex are in the cast. Sanjay Ram will play a prominent role called Katta Ganesh in the movie. Leo will handle the cinematography while Dheena has been assigned to score the music. Sanjay Ram has penned the story, screenplay, dialogues besides directing the movie. The shooting will commence on 23 November and would be shot in areas including Mysore, Kerala and Vishakapattinam.

Simran in Samuthirakani's movie

Amidst several directors trying to get yesteryear glam doll Simran to act in their movies, director Samuthirakani has succeeded in convincing the actress to be part of his project. However Samuthirakani has chosen not to do a movie. It is a telefilm that centers around a woman who fights against injustice meted out to women. Simran plays the protagonist, who fights against all odds. Shooting will commence in Delhi soon and it be aired in a prominent television channel this June. Vaseegaran is handling the cinematography while music is by Kiran. Samuthirakani, a one-time associate of K Balachander, is currently directing the mega-serial Arasi starring Radhika Sarath Kumar.
