Sangeeth Sivan is indeed a happy man. While his recently released 'Apna Sapna Money Money' is turning out to be yet another comedy success this season, he is soon moving on to his 'Die Hard' meets 'Yash Chopra' film starring Nana Patekar and Bobby Deol. But wait, this is not all, there is more to come. An elated Sivan says, "Soon after I am through Nana-Bobby film, I will have another thriller with Nana titled 'Network.' The film is about a relationship between a man and his cell phone. It should require just a 30 days shooting schedule." "Are there any traces of 'Phone Booth?" one asks. "No, not at all," he says, 'Network' is an absolutely original film and is a complete drift from the kind of work I have done. The film actually deals with how a cell phone becomes the cause of this character's death."
An anxious Sangeeta Bijlani calls up Azharuddin after 5 years
There have been several reports doing the rounds claiming that yesteryear actress, Sangeeta Bijlani is all set to sue the makers of Emraan Hashmi's upcoming film, 'Azhar.' The movie is based on the life of the former controversial Indian cricket team captain, Mohammad Azharuddin. Azhar divorced his wife of eight years and went on to marry Sangeeta. And now, with the release of the film nearing, Sangeeta is worried that the film might show her in poor light and as a home-breaker. According to a report on BollywoodLife.com, a concerned Sangeeta had a private phone call with Azhar, 5 years after their split and voiced her apprehensions. The source states that Sangeeta has expressed her desire to watch the film, and has been regularly keeping in touch with the cricketer. However, everything is being kept tightly under wraps till the release. 'Azhar' starring Emraan Hashmi, Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai, is all set to hit the screens on May 13.
"Nana and Bobby are bonding well" - Sangeeth Sivan
"Nana (Patekar) and Bobby (Deol) are really bonding well on the sets", says Sangeeth Sivan, "now that's really helping the progress of my film." Speaking from Chandigarh, Sangeeth Sivan who has two comic hits KYA KOOL HAIN HUM and APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY under his belt is soon bringing his yet untitled venture towards completion. "Around 60% of the film is completed and once I am done with the ongoing Chandigrah schedule, I would be just left with filming the climax that would take place in Mumbai", he divulges. So is he still undecided about the film's titled? "No, we should have it finalized very soon," says Sangeeth, "we have short listed a few and it's just a matter of picking one from them." So is it going to be an action or romantic title for this much publicized DIE HARD MEETS YASH CHOPRA film? Laughs Sangeeth, "It is going to be an action title and most likely would be in English". Shreya Saran's name came as a pleasant surprise since not many could see that coming. "Well, we were looking for someone who was not a very known face", he says with a matter of fact, "We were auditioning a lot of girls and she also went through the normal process of screen tests. She passed and soon was on!" The film has been in news ever since it was announced. An action thriller with romantic elements, the film stars Bobby in gray shades with Nana playing a law keeper. Recently there was a decent hype built for the film when Bobby's jump from 14th floor for an action sequence made headlines.
"I play laughter specialist in Sangeeth's film" - Chunky Panday
Chunky Panday has been roped in for the yet-untitled film by director Sangeeth Sivan which stars Nana Patekar and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. "After APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY, I am the laughter specialist for Sangeeth Sivan films", laughs Chunky who carries his sense of humor everywhere, be it sets, public place or his own house. "Together we have given a good hit in the form of APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY and it was imperative that I sign on the next film of Sangeeth too", informs Chunky, "My character comes in the film after the interval and gets on much more than just an occasional chuckle." Getting a little serious he adds, "There is a definite value add that this character does in the narrative of the film and is not there just for the sake of it. Jokes apart, it is not just a comic role in the film."
"I have never denied my film being ATHADU remake" - Sangeeth Sivan
"I am amused by the reports which say that I am not allowing the news to leak out that my film is a remake of ATHADU", says Sangeeth Sivan who has almost wrapped up the shoot of his yet untitled film which stars Nana Patekar and Bobby Deol in the lead. "We have bought the rights of the film and it is in fact an honor to be associated with a great film like ATHADU. I have never ever denied this fact", says Sangeeth who would be returning to the action genre after around a decade since he made his Bollywood debut with Sunny Deol starrer ZOR. For starters, ATHADU is the name of a Telegu blockbuster which made Mahesh Babu a household name. "Do you know the kind of craze Mahesh Babu became after the film released?" he questions. "Expect fireworks all around as Nana and Bobby share the frames. Believe me, the kind of chemistry that the two of them have demonstrated on the screen is mind blowing. I am sure lovers of commercial masala entertainers would love the film", he concludes excitedly.
Rs.3.5 crore 'sangeet' number for 'Brahmotsavam'
The makers of superstar Mahesh Babu-starrer Telugu drama "Brahmotsavam", which is currently on the floors, are said to have spent a whopping Rs.3.5 crore on a 'sangeet' number for the film. "It's the introductory song featuring Mahesh and nearly 500 junior artists. Besides Mahesh, the song also features the ensemble cast of Pranitha Subhash, Jayasudha, Sayaji Shinde, Tanikella Bharani, Naresh and Krishna Bhagwan among others," a source from the film's unit told. "Rs.3.5 crore was spent on the sets and other arrangements that were made for the song," the source said. Young actress Chandini Chowdary matches steps with Mahesh in the song. Directed by Srikanth Addala, the film also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal in important roles. The next schedule of the film will start in Hyderabad on October 5.
