Malaysia has nowadays become a favorite spot for shooting fighting sequences. Following Ajith's movie, directed by Raju Sundaram, Vishal's 'Sathyam' too has planned a fight in Malaysia. The unit will go to the country soon to shoot the thrilling fight featuring Vishal. The portions involving Nayantara except the song sequences are over. The movie also marks the comeback of 'Mayuri' fame Sudha Chandran. The classical dancer is donning an important role in the film. Today's generation may not be aware of the uniqueness of the actor, i.e., she dances with an artificial leg.
'Sathyam': Vishals gentle gesture
Vishal has proved to be a different hero in a scenario that is known for its male centric approach. Some of the leading heroes in Kollywood used to be very careful not to give 'too much' screen space to their heroines. They also tend to cut the scenes that could fetch a few claps for the lead girls in the theatres. But Vishal, one of the big heroes, has a different approach. He is quite comfortable with Nayantara's importance in his forthcoming film 'Sathyam'. Nayan, who plays a TV reporter, meets Vishal, the deputy police commissioner, on her professional assignment. Nayan is said to be appearing through out the movie, besides having a solo song. Vishal, the insiders say, has accepted her importance in the story. This is really a rare gesture in a field, where the heroines are synonyms to the formulaic role of 'a pretty doll useful for romance and duets'. 'Sathyam', it seems, could well propel Nayantara's career as an actor.
Sathyam team heads to Dubai
'Sathyam' team is heading to Dubai for some patch-up work. The team, which had shot some important scenes in Chennai airport, wanted to take a few more in the run way but it could not get the permission from the authorities. The team tried to take the run way scenes in Mumbai and Delhi in vain. Then the producers approached Dubai airport authorities, who gave the nod almost immediately. So the team is heading to Dubai tonight. It is interesting to note that the trip is quite contrast to the prevailing practice of taking the patch-up scenes in India following a foreign tour. The difficulty in getting the permission in Indian airports has created such a situation. Vishal, director Rajasekar, 'Stun' Siva, and Upendra are going to Dubai for the shooting. Some scenes involving Vishal and Upendra will also be shot there.
'Sathyam' on 15 August
Vishal starrer 'Sathyam will release on Independence Day (15 August). Directed by Rajasekharan, the movie features Vishal in the role of an upright cop. He pairs up with Nayantara for the first time. Also the presence of Kannada actor Upendra who plays the villain and catchy music by Harris Jeyaraj are the other major highlights of the film. Vishal has tonsured his head for the movie besides undergoing rigorous training to don the role of a police officer. Loaded with action, sentiment and humor, the film has generated enough hype and expectations among movie-goers. The action scenes in the movie are something to look out for. With real life top cops as consultants for the movie and some big names from the stunt department the chase and action sequences have been thought of and executed brilliantly.
'Sathyam' will be a trend-setter, says Vishal
Vishal, who is for the first time donning the role of a cop in 'Sathyam' hopes that the film will set a new trend in Kollywood. Stating that 'Sathyam' will be sleek and stylish, Vishal said,' 'Sathyam' has all the necessary commercial elements. I am very eagerly expecting the release'. On the sudden makeover in the career by donning the role of a top cop, Vishal said, 'Though director Rajasekhar approached me with the script two years ago, I couldn't do it, as I wanted to become more matured.' When asked, 'Have you done any special workout to fit into the role?' Vishal said, 'Yes. I have done rigorous workouts to resemble a fit police officer. I spent most of the time in the gym in order to give that tough-guy feel to the audience'. Meanwhile, rumors are that Vishal is planning to commence his maiden directorial venture early next year and it would be produced by his home production. Plans are on to rope in Hollywood technicians for the movie.
