Jimmy's 'strange' look in Strangers

Jimmy Shergill who portrays the role of a failed, disillusioned writer in STRANGERS, has worked hard on his look according to the character of the film. STRANGERS is Jimmy Shergill's best performance till date. In fact soon after the shoot of Delhi Heights, Jimmy grew his hair for the character. Jimmy's role plays a failed writer with a very sloppy disheveled look. The character goes through a huge emotional turmoil, quite disillusioned with life. Says Jimmy, " I had just finished shooting for Delhi Heights and went to London directly for the shoot of 'Strangers'. Though initially we had a brief outline on this of what the character would look like. But when we started shooting, the intensity of the character was such that we started incorporating certain changes during the shoot itself and the result was just phenomenal." Jimmy is also seen in grey tracks and sweaters because as a writer he is least worried about the visual impact. And while in the midst of the shooting they incorporated the fluffy hair, cigarette in hand on a typewriter for added effect. Jimmy also wore a trench coat which gave him eerie and disturbed kind of a look. According to the director Anand Rai, " Jimmy's character Rahul, is a 'looser within' and that comes across quite beautifully. In fact when I saw our make up artist, wearing a particular skull cap, I asked him to give it to Jimmy. And voila the effect was mind blowing. Jimmy wore the cap for the month long shoot, which even had the make up artist grumbling lightheartedly about losing his cap. Jimmy is a revelation in the film, there is level of fearlessness in the way he has approached his character in the film" . STRANGERS is being presented by Sahara One Motion Pictures, due to release on December 7 th.

Addite stalked on phone by stranger

Addite Shirwakar who is playing Milli in Kumkum is becoming popular by the day, we hear. Apparently she got a call from a lady from some remote part of UP who claimed to be her fan and had always been wanting to talk to her. Within no time she had more news for Addite when she said she also had a match for her. Interestingly around two years ago Addite was stalked by a stranger day in and out, which created a lot of brouhaha then. Ultimately, when the news was out in the papers the stalker disappeared from the scene, giving Addite a big relief. Addite says, "When I got a call from this unknown lady, I was slightly unsettled at first. Gradually, she began talking to me nicely and told me how much she liked my show Dulhan and Kumkum. Then when we got talking and suddenly she surprised me with a proposal she had for me. It was quite amusing to get a proposal out of the blue and that too from a complete stranger. Nevertheless, it was not at all annoying and I even told her that I don't wish to settle down as of now. Someone has all eyes for Addite! Don't miss!

'Thoothukudi' a strange remake

The season of dubbings and remakes does not look like stopping. More and more movies are being brought in from other language. The latest we hear is that a gangster movie is being brought from Tamil. Now this is surprising. We have too many underworld kind of movies in recent times. So it is anybody's guess as to what prompted Ravi Raja Pinisetty to decide on a remake from Tamil that is about friendship between two gangsters. The Tamil original is named Thoothukudi (name of a town in Tamil Nadu). It is now proposed to be remade in Telugu with Ravi Raja Pinisetty's son Pradeep Pinisetty. The youngster was introduced in Oka V chitram. To make a action movie after a love theme is good in principle. But care has to be taken while remaking a movie.

Cosmic probe finds strange microwave 'haze'

A probe designed to delve into the "Big Bang" that created the cosmos has uncovered an enigmatic fog of microwave radiation in the centre of our galaxy, European astronomers reported on Monday. Planck, a billion-dollar European space telescope launched in May 2009, found "a mysterious haze of microwaves that presently defies explanation" during a scan of the centre of the Milky Way, the European Space Agency (ESA) said. It could be a form of energy called synchrotron emission, which occurs when electrons zip through magnetic fields after being accelerated by the blast of an exploding star, or supernova. But the newly discovered emission is something of a mystery, as its signature lingers far longer compared with other synchrotron sources spotted in the Milky Way. Several explanations have been offered, ranging from higher rates of supernovae in the galactic centre to the annihilation of so-called dark matter particles, ESA said in a press release. Planck, deployed in orbit 1.5 million kilometres (937,000 miles) from Earth, is designed to pick up tiny variations in temperature in microwave energy released after the Big Bang that created the universe some 14 billion years ago. Scientists looking at the data have to filter out a haze of microwave emissions that obscure the precious telltale, known as Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation. The new results are being presented this week at a conference in Bologna, Italy, which is looking at the intermediate results from the mission. Planck has also located concentrations of carbon monoxide among the clouds of cold gas in the Milky Way and other galaxies that are a reservoir for making stars.

At the moment, she is very stressed and for her safety, she has moved to her friend's place," the source said. On Tuesday morning, Shruti was attacked when she answered the doorbell.
