'Satyamev Jayate 2' set to go on air March 2

The second season of Aamir Khan's much-awaited television show "Sataymev Jayate" will premiere March 2. Aamir made his TV debut with "Sataymev Jayate" in 2012 and the show dealing with sensitive social issues like female foeticide, domestic violence and child abuse received a warm welcome from the TV viewers after it went on air on Star Plus in May. Some of the episodes recorded the highest ratings. Now the 48-year-old, whose latest movie "Dhoom: 3" created fireworks at the box office, is coming back with the second season of the talk show, which will be beamed on the same channel. Promos hit the video sharing website YouTube Saturday -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7av_h-stLow -- and so far it has got over 34,000 hits. When IANS contacted the star's representative, it confirmed the news saying: "It's true". However, the format will be different this time. According to reports, the makers have decided to break the second season into three parts with each segment airing four shows on Sundays.

Aamir turns 49, dedicates year to 'Satyamev Jayate'

Actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan, who turned 49 Friday, is happy with the way his Bollywood career shaped up last year courtesy "Dhoom 3". He has planned to dedicate all his time in 2014 to his social issue-based TV show "Satyamev Jayate". Besides one Hindi movie, Rajkumar Hirani's "Peekay", which is slated for release on Christmas, Aamir has no other film lined up. Talking to reporters at his residence, where he celebrates his birthday with media persons every year, Aamir said: "Last year was great. I was happy with the success of 'Dhoom 3', and I was glad that all our hard work paid off." "This year, I am dedicating all my time to 'Satyamev Jayate'. Only Raju's 'Peekay' will release towards the end, but there's no other film. So, my whole year is for the show." "Satyamev Jayate" is a platform where Aamir brings socially relevant issues to the fore and discusses startling facts about them. He said the show's telecast has been divided into three parts this time. Of the four episodes that were slated for March, two have already been aired. "We will return with a few episodes in July, and then we will come back with some episodes in a month towards the end of 2014," he said. During the second season, he has so far raised his voice against 'rape' and 'police'. When curious media persons asked him about the issues he will raise in the forthcoming episodes, he said: "We don't tell the issues." Recently, Aamir had to register a complaint with the Mumbai police in the wake of a defamatory campaign against him on a social networking website. Lamenting such defamatory acts, he said: "It makes me sad when people do good work and then people react this way. Such people are less in number, but they are trying to spread rumours about me via social media." "Social media is also such where people can spread any information anonymously. I feel sad. I am trying to do my bit, but I know our janata (people) know what's true. They have been seeing me and my work for 25 years. They know what's right," he added.

'Satyameva Jayate' with Dr Rajasekhar as hero

'Satyameva Jayate' is the title confirmed for a film to be directed by Jeevita and produced by Sk Basheed on the banner of Bajju Art Productions. Giving the details to the press, Dr Rajasekhar says, 'Producer Basheed is planning to produce a film with me for the past some time. It took a shape now and Jeevita would direct that movie. The basic story of the film is how a group of police made efforts to nab a group of criminals.' With the success of 'Yevadaithe Nakenti', I myself provided a good script for this film as I am inspired with that hit film. I am quite confident that this film would also be a big hit.' Producer Basheed says, 'We produced 'Allare Allari' as our debut film on our banner. We are going to release the film very soon. The regular shooting of 'Satyameva Jayate' would begin in June. Director Jeevita says, 'We have got a new lease of life with the success of 'Yevadaithe Nakenti'. The audiences could find Dr Rajasekhar in a powerful police officer role in 'Satyameva Jayate' on the lines of 'Ankusham', his previous hit film.' However, there were rumours that it would be the free make of a Bollywood hit film 'Khaki'.
