The prestigious banner S.V.Babu Productions biggest venture Kannada movie starring Golden star Ganesh and Vedhika in 'Sangama' has completed the talkie portion and completing two songs in the first week of September. In the third week of week of September the film audio release function is planned in a big style. 'Sangama' meaning joining together is coming together of debutant director Ravi Verma who was make up man and music director for the last 18 years in his career, music director Devisriprasad, S.V.Productions, Golden star Ganesh and actress Vedhika. Producer S.V.Babu says the film 'Sangama' has shot the talkie and song portions in 60 days. He is simultaneously producing 'Josh' in the direction of reputed director Shivamani with a bunch of new artists. Director Ravi Verma has done a very good job and I feel that I have not made any mistake compared to my earlier movie 'Savi Savi Nenapu' recalled producer S.V.Babu. Previously he has produced Honeymoon Express, Thenali Rama, Savi Savi Nenapu in Kannada and his debut Telugu film 'Andamaina Manasulu' was received well. One of the songs in 'Sangama' was shot with three thousand bulbs on all the 360 degree on a glass floor. Such new attempts that calls for lavish spending is not new to S.V.Babu. For his Telugu film 'Andamaina Manasulu' the song was shot in the cloud background. Every song competes to each other in quality, melody and musical score of Devisri Prasad in 'Sangama' says the proud producer SV Babu. On roping in popular music director Devisri Prasad the producer is of the opinion that he has given better music than his Telugu films. In 'Sangama' we are giving whatever the audience require. Besides giving prominence to love subject there is lot of scope for comedy and Komalkumar will have a biggest success from this film feels Babu. The whole film is told in a very pleasant style the pair Ganesh and Vedhika going steal the show observes Babu. 'Sangama' is slated for release in October 2008. Jhenkar Audio has bought the rights of the audio of the film. The highly successful distributor in Karnataka of various languages Pal Enterprises is distributing 'Sangama'.
'Karanji' musical treat
Producer N.M.Suresh irrespective of failure or success is forging ahead in making films. He has just finished 'Gandhi Smiles' a different type of Kannada cinema, announced a film on seven wonders of the world starring Shivarajakumar ' Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu' and now started a quickie 'Karanji' starring Vijaya Raghavendra and Bollywood actress Gauri Karnik (who figured in 'Sur') in the direction of debutant Sridhar. Veera Samarth is scoring music for seven songs and six bits in the film. This film went on the floors at Nandi Teertha temple in Malleswaram on 27th of April. This is a musical film in which Vijaya Raghavendra plays the head of a music band. He is a guitar player and heroine Gauri Karnik is a dominant singer in the film. In the love story interspersed 'Karanji' the different musical tradition of Karnataka is focused with poems from Santa Shishunala Sharief, Purandara Dasa, T.P.Kailasam Kolike Ranga song, folk songs etc says Sridhar highlighting on the contents of his maiden film. Sridhar has worked as script associate television and ad films director in the past. Veera Samarth a boy from Bidar who has worked with ace composers and singers Ravindra Jain, Suresh Wadkar, Ismail Durbar, Shuba Mudgal was playing the Tamboora instrument in Pandit Bhimsen Joshi recitals. He intends to give right treatment to the rich lyrics with a classical touch. This will be the year's best music of a film says the confident Veera Samarth. Cameraman Guruprasad with FTI diploma has worked in Mumbai for quite some time and joined the Kannada film scene with his friend Santosh Rai Pathaje in films like Savi Savi Nenapu and Telugu film Andamaina Mansulu. He is now independently handling the camera.
46 Films in fray
For the Karnataka state film awards for 2007-2008 there are 46 films in the contest. As many as 17 Kannada films in it have not been released and remake films like 'E Bandhana, Sundari Ganda Sadanda, Mr Garagara, Satyavan Savitri and hotchpotch 'Bindhaas' films are dare enough to enter the Karnataka sate awards. There is absolutely no provision for remake films in the state awards. The films censored before 31st March 2008 have also made entry to get awards. Gubbachchigalu, Chilipili Hakkigalu, Deepa, Naanu Gandhi, Ekalavya are the children film. For the state awards best hero Dr.Vishnuvardhana, Shivarajakumar, Puneeth Rajakumar, Golden star Ganesh, Premkumar, Ramesh Aravind, Vijay, Chetan are key contestants. For best heroine Umasri, Daisy, Neethusri, Bhavana, Priya Hasan, Lakshmi Hegde, Shuba Punj, Bhavana, Sonu and others are in the contest. The list of Kannada films in the contest are: Milana, Nondhu Bendhavalu, Deepa, Pathanga, Chilipili Hakkigalu, Deemantha Manushya, Jambada Hudugi, Gubbachcigalu, Kurunadu, Birse, Gaalipata, Manju Musukidha Haadhi, Bindhaas, Chanda, Savi Savi Nenapu, Akasha Gange, Ekalavya, Aa Dingalu, Mamamahima Laddu Muthya, Kunidhu Kunidhu Bare, Nanda Nanditha, Moggina Jade, Jagadguru Sri Renukacharya Mahatme, Accident, Operation Ankusha, Banadha Neralu, Aralidha Hoovu, Badhuku, Gulabi Talkies, Naanu Gandhi, Naanu Neenu Jodi, Avva, Mathad Mathad Mallige, Orata I Love You, Kshana Kshana, Inthi Ninna Preethiya, Malanada Mallige, Mister Garagasa, E Bandhana, Sundari Ganda Sadananda, Ninedhe Nenapu, Satya In Love, Amruthavani, Honganasu, Satyavan Savitri and Jedara Bale. Birse and Badhuku are Tulu language films.
Chandru to direct
The big name in the small screen Sihi Kahi Chandru is taking up direction. His new film starring comedy actor Komal Kumar in the lead is produced by highly disciplined producer S.V.Babu of 'Honeymoon Express, Thenali Rama and Savi Savi Nenapu'. Sihi Kahi Chandru the famous comedy actor in big screen found a mammoth success in his stint as television serial maker and director. Ever since 'Papa Pandu' (1014 episodes) and 'Silli Lalli' (1162 episodes) from his own banner Final Cut Productions Sihi Kahi Chandru is growing tremendously. He has also made serials like 'Paramapada', 'Sathu Pathu' and 'Yakhingadtharo'. Now he has taken up 'Pandu I Love You' ' a comedy television serial with a dose of mother sentiment that has completed 75 episodes in ETV Kannada. Sihi Kahi Chandru a workaholic and intelligent has collected nearly 40 titles for his new feature film in Kannada out of which one will be selected. 10 years ago he took up 'Preethiyalli Iro Sukha' for direction starring Ramesh Aravind and Ruchita Prasad in the lead. That was almost finished but the tiff between the two producers stalled the project. For his untitled new project in Kannada he is roping in Ananthnag for a villain role in the film. The film is all about the funny relationship between father and son says Sihi Kahi Chandru.
RP Patnaik takes up direction
The familiar music director in Telugu and Kannada R.P.Patnaik makes debut as director in Telugu film 'Andhamaina Manasulu' for Kannada producer S.V.Babu. The film starring newcomer Rajiv, Archana Gupta and Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam actress Sindhu Menon is a big venture film. The muhurut of this film bigwigs of Telugu film industry Dr.Rama Naidu, Dr.Raghavendra Rao and actor Murali Mohan took part in the inaugural shot of the film. Kannada film director and cameraman Santosh Rai Pathaje (of 7 o'Clock and Savi Savi Nenapu) is the cinematographer of this Telugu film. Producer of prominent Kannada films 'Honeymoon Express, Thenali Rama and Savi Savi Nenapu' S.V.Babu is taking up his first Telugu film. R.P.Patnayak making debut as director is keeping the track of Kannada song 'Neene Neene manasella neene' he scored for Puneeth Rajkumar and Ramya starring 'Akash' film. He has obtained the permission to use this track from Raghavendra Rajkumar. RP thought of this film script dates back to his college days. When he was studying MBA 14 years ago the developments in the college campus has interested him to develop a story. The film subject handling is like 'walking on the tight rope' for me he admitted. If I make a small mistake while handling this subject it is going to be controversial pointed R.P.Patnayak. The graphic song of 3 minutes and 40 seconds in this Telugu film 'Andhamaina Manasulu' will be par with the international standards. It requires four months to complete this song and it will be equivalent to English films like 'Titanic and Lord of the Rings' informed RP. RP in the past played hero in a Telugu film Vasanthi Lakshmi'.. (Produced by Kannada film maker N.M.Suresh) a remake of Tamil film 'Kashi' (this was made in Kannada as 'Namma Preethiya Ramu' starring Darshan). RP's debut direction in Telugu will be shot in Hyderabad, Ooty and Vizag. The Kannada film journalists from Bangalore attended this muhurut at Annapoorna Studios in Hyderabad on Friday. The group of journalists from Bangalore who went on invitation from producer presented a gold locket of lord Venkateshwara to producer S.V.Babu and wished him all the success for his maiden Telugu film.
Prem sing for 'SSN'
In the top of profession actor Prem of super hit films 'Nenapirali' and 'Jothe Jotheyali' has sung a song for his third movie 'Savi Savi Nenapu' recently. Haadu Haadu Haadu nannedheya Haadu Yaava Kattupadu Illadhiro Haadu Nanna Hrudayadha Kogilege Asare Niduvudhe ninnedheya goodu'., penned by lyricist Hrudayashiva and scored by R.P.Patnayak was recorded by actor Prem on the insistence of producer of the film S.V.Babu and director of the film Santosh Rai Pathaje. The film 'SSN' has completed shooting of two songs at Kulu Manali recently. K.S.Chandrasekhar and Guruprashanth Rai are the duo cameramen for the film. Mallika Kapoor plays female lead in the film. Tejaswini, Srinath, Thulashi Shivamani are also in the cast of 'SSN'.
