SAY SALAAM INDIA picked by Adlabs

Adlabs has picked up Sanjay Suri's SAY SALAAM INDIA and would be presenting it all over as the film releases on March 30. SAY SALAAM INDIA is a story that begins with cricket, continues with cricket and ends with cricket. It is a film that has everyone involved in the narrative attached to cricket by some means - good, bad or downright ugly. But then as the saying goes, may the best team win. And something similar is expected as the film culminates into a climax. The story of SAY SALAAM INDIA revolves around a bunch of 4 boys (Viru, Mahi, Shakeel and Guri) who come from a humble background and don't have riches to their disposal. But there is something that they have in abundance - passion to excel, passion to prove a point and passion to do everything that it takes to bring them closer to their goal - CRICKET! The man who coaches them? Hari Sadu [Sanjay Suri]. Also starring Sandhya Mridul, Manoj Pahwa, Sachin Khedekar, Vinay Pathak, Shradha Nigam and Ojas, the film is written and directed by debutant Subhash kapoor with music by Gaurav Dayal.

SAY SALAAM INDIA benefits from India's T20 win

When Sajnay Suri starrer SAY SALAAM INDIA released earlier this year, it was the worst possible time for the film to arrive. Reason being that India had just been ousted from World Cup cricket and audience was just not in mood to see a film, especially the one which had a storyline based on cricket. As expected, the film crashed at the box office in spite of being a well made product. What surprised though was that for all these months, the film didn't arrive on the home video circuits. Well, the wait seems to have been worth it as BIG home entertainment has acquired the film's rights and is promoting the DVDs/VCDs of the film reasonably to make it reach out to the audience. The film is being marketed as the one which hails the Indian cricket team which till two weeks back was basking in the glory of being the T20 Champions after defeating Pakistan in the finals. It's a different matter though that the recent India-Australia one day series has hardly been witness to the kind of performance that India boasted of in the shorter version of the game.

Kumble & Sreesanth in SAY SALAAM INDIA

Sanjay Suri's SAY SALAAM INDIA is gearing up for a cricket season release, rightly so since the film completely revolves around the spirit and passion of cricket. To spice up the proceedings in the film, there are references to some historic moments that were created by Anil Kumble and S Sreesanth. Those who have been following cricket for years would never forget these two moments: a) Anil Kumble with bandages all over his face while bowling to the West Indies batsmen b) Sreesanth dancing all over the ground after hitting South African bowler Andre Nel over his head for a six The same moments have been recreated in SAY SALAAM INDIA as an underdog player does something similar in some of the defining moments of the film. Watch out for them - you will surely have a smile on your face!

'Roobaroo' singer croons anthem song of SAY SALAAM INDIA

Everyone who loves Hindi film music would surely have heard of the immensely popular tracks 'Roobaroo' and 'Paathshaala' that were an integral part of last year's best film RANG DE BASANTI. The singer who made it possible? Naresh Iyer. The young guy, who has been busy collecting awards, rewards and acclaim ever since the songs became chartbuster, has come up with another fun yet inspirational track 'Haiyya Haiyya' for this Friday's release SAY SALAAM INDIA. A racy track that inspires the youth to move ahead in life while ignoring all the obstacles that come in the way, it is yet another motivational track by the young boy who certainly seems to be having his stocks rising in the world of Bollywood music scene. Directed by debutant Subhash Kapoor, SAY SALAAM INDIA stars Sanjay Suri, Milind Soman, Sandhya Mridul and Manoj Pahwa in the lead.

Say no to soft drinks?

Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has requested celebrities like Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Akshay Kumar, Virendra Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar to desist from endorsing Soft Drinks. According to him even if the soft drinks are devoid of the deadly pesticides, the harmful effect is not minimized. He told a gathering of health experts in Kolkata on Friday that actors should stay away from endorsing soft drinks since aerated drinks were damaging children's health. He added that juvenile diabetes and obesity are on the rise among children primarily due to the consumption of soft drinks. Ramadoss had earlier stirred a furore when he asked for a ban on smoking scenes in the films. The film industry reacted sharply to his proposal and even the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry had also expressed it reservations. Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt who had opposed the smoking move is supporting the Health Minister on this issue by stating that the hard selling of Cola Companies by using big names is 'improper '. It remains to be seen-n-heard what the film fraternity has to say on this subject'. Ramadoss ka Tadka'.Anyone'.
