Shakthi son of P.Vasu Director of ('Chandramukhi') was introduced to the Film Industry in an impressive manner, in the Tamil Film 'Thottal Poo Malarum'. The opening program was conducted in Chennai on Monday morning. Tamil Superstar Rajnikanth, versatile actor Kamal Haasan, Balakrishna, Prabhu and Jayaprada were the Chief Guests. Actor Balakrishna, speaking on the occasion said, '?ÂÂ?Chennai city looked after me initially in my career, while Andhra Pradesh State is where I grew up, and the state is dear to me in more ways than one. Father of P.Vasu, Peethabaram and my father NTR were close friends. Vasu has inherited his father's discipline. Presently, entry into film industry is very trouble-free and success comes to you as anticipated. But, to maintain the tempo in the long run is very hard. Blessings of elders will always be with the children all the time. Likewise, the elders should not crush the ambitions and aspirations of the children'?ÂÂ.
Shakthi: Acting is in his genes
Acclaimed director P Vasu's son Sakthi is ready to run the race in Kollywood. Sakthi makes his debut as hero with Thottal Poo Malarum, directed by his father. The tall and handsome Sakthi says, 'Being son of a popular director has helped me to make an easy entry. But survival is tough. It all depends on my hard work and I should create a separate identity for myself'. An MBA graduate, Sakthi thanks his entire family and the cast and crew of Thottal Poo Malarum for encouraging him to give his best in the movie. Among his father's movies, Sakthi admires Chinna Thambi a lot. 'I would love to be part of the Chinna Thambi's remake', he says.
Shakthi going steady
The decent run of Thottal Poo Malarum has brought fresh offers for Shakthi, son of P Vasu. The young hero has signed a couple of new films and the announcement would be made in the month of October. Shakthi says, 'The response is so good from all sides and many offers are coming. However, I am very choosy and signed two movies among them'. Shakthi said that he would like to act in the remakes of his father P Vasu's blockbuster Chinna Thambi and Kamal Haasan starrer Apoorva Sagodharargal. 'Both are my dream movies', he says.
Shakthi ready for action!
Shakthi, son of director P Vasu made a mark for himself with his maiden venture 'Thottal Poo Malarum'. His role as romantic hero has won him accolades. Offers come thick and fast for Shakthi. However Shakthi doesn't want to typecast him as romantic hero. 'I want to do an action-packed role', he says. 'My forthcoming films would be an action-packed entertainer which would kick off this November. It is an action film with a difference. There are no senseless stunts. It would be an engrossing entertainer', he says.
Shakthi Chithambaram avoids Namitha
Director Shakthi Chithambaram, who has cast the sensational Namitha in all his films including his latest 'Sandai', has decided to avoid her in his forthcoming movies. What went wrong between the director and his favorite heroine? 'I have cast her in all my films. I thought this could be interpreted in a mischievous way by somebody and hence I decided to avoid her', says the director. The grapevine, however, has it that Namitha is quite unhappy with the manner in which her portions were handled in the movie. It is said that many scenes featuring the buxom babe were cut off from the movie and that had created displeasure to the girl. Namitha, who used to give a piece of her mind to the concerned person through SMS, has given vent to her feelings in the same manner. Shakthi, it is said, has reacted sharply by deciding not to cast Namitha in his films.
Shakthi and his many projects
Thanks to his father P Vasu, Shakthi made a decent beginning with 'Thottal Poo Malarum'. Though the movie managed an average run at the box office, it garnered quite a decent attention. Shakthi did win accolades for his bold performance. He is currently playing a prominent role in a couple of films including 'Magesh, Saranya, Mattrum Palar' and 'Ninaithalae Inikkum'. The latter is a remake of the Malayalam hit 'Classmates' and features Prithviraj and Priyamani besides Shakthi. Buzz is that Shakthi has agreed to do an important character in a movie titled 'Aatta Nayakan'. More details of the project are expected to be revealed soon. Also, the young actor would be playing a prominent role in a film to be produced by veteran producer Nagi Reddy's grand-son Sarath Reddy. It would be directed by Badri, who wielded the megaphone for Sundar C's 'Veerappu'. It is interesting to note that Sakthi is not just waiting for scripts that portray him as the hero. He is playing a plethora of characters and that should be a big boost to his career.
