Shakti Kapoor-Kader Khan back with HHDK

Remember a small time film called 'Hum Hain Kamaal Ke' that came around a decade and a half back? For starters it was a film starring Kader Khan and Anupam Kher in lead roles as deaf and blind respectively. A comedy that also starred Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Aroona Irani, it went on to do decent business at the box office. 13 years hence comes a film with a similar title, HUM HAIN DHAMAAL KE that again stars Kader Khan, Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Aroona Irani along with Shakti Kapoor. What makes the project further interesting is the fact that it brings back the Shakti Kapoor-Kader Khan jodi, something that was formidable for the most of the 80s and early 90s. Directed by P Jitendra, one waits to see if HHDK brings back the nostalgia when it releases in the month of November?

Shakira to perform in Mumbai

Get ready to ensure that 'hips don't lie' as Colombian singer Shakira comes over to India this weekend. The D day is Sunday, March 25, when Mumbai would be hosting 'Nokia Shakira Live Concert' at the MMRDA grounds, Bandra-Kurla Complex. Expected to be a sell out event, it would come a couple of days after India clashes with Sri Lanka in a decider-of-sorts World Cup Cricket match. If India goes on to win that match, it would only make the concert further more hip-n-happening (pun intended).

Shaking the stage with Tanushree

Post their victory on Nach Baliye 3, the endearing couple Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh seems to be the most sought after couple on telly tube. Atleast this seems to be the case with the host of various upcoming shows which are consistently roping in the duo for performances all over the country. While recently they were seen performing in Delhi with Tanushree Dutta, just lately the two of them also performed at a function of the King Khan to be hosted, Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Ho. Last week Aamir was also seen on the dance reality show Yeh Hai Jalwa, (where may we remind Rakhi Sawant happens to be a contestant too). Hats off to the two of them who make time out of their hectic schedule, for rehearsing and performing, being the leads in their respective shows, we must say. Well bask in all the attention Aamir and Sanjeeda. In the unpredictable glam world, everything is short lived!

OM SHANTI OM music in mid-September

Wait for hearing the music of one of the biggest films of 2007 would finally be over in around a month from now. OM SHANTI OM, an extravagant offering from Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan, is aiming for a November 9th release. The film's promotion is all set to get started in a week from now while the music album is expected to hit the stands somewhere around middle of September. Music of film has been in news ever since the project was announced. To begin with A.R. Rahman was finalised as a composer. Later due to certain differences over holding of rights, replacement for Rahman was sought and duo of Vishal-Shekhar was instead roped in. Also, services of Pyarelal [of Lakshmikant-Pyarelal duo] were sought to arrange one of the songs from the film. As per insiders, Vishal and Shekhar have come up with a terrific soundtrack that traverses genres. A complete Bollywood soundtrack that goes with the 'masala' flavor of the film, OM SHANTI OM is one music album to watch out for as it hits the stands next month.

'Om Shanti Om' reached a final round in the Olympics

There is one more achievement for India other than one gold and two bronze medals in the recently concluded Beijing Olympics. Any guesses? It has got nothing to do with sports and is related to music. The Israeli gymnastic team comprising of Katarina Pisetsky, Veronika Vitenberg, Olena Dvornichenko, Maria Savenkov and Rahel Vigdozchik moved their beautiful sculpted bodies to the tune of a hit Bollywood film song in their final round of competition. The song was 'Dhoom Tana' from the blockbuster 'Om Shanti Om'. This happened during the final days of the Olympics. No one in India knew before the start of the final round that this song was selected by the Israeli team and what led to this particular track to be selected for the performance is also not yet known. Let the Israeli team members say it themselves
