Shamir riding high

The New Year has started off well for music director Shamir Tandon. With the music release of SUPERSTAR by Ashtavinayak films (featuring Kunal Khemu and Tulip Joshi), the 1st track on air AJNABI has already caught the fancy of the youth at large. With the music of 'Superstar' Shamir has made an entry into the realm of commercial cinema prior to which he was best known for his mature music in the realistic movies of Madhur Bhandarkar. Having extensively used legandary voices in his past films (Lataji, Ashaji ,Manna Dey, Jagjit Singh, Bhupinder etc), in this film he has used a lot of young new voices. Having discovered an Assamese voice Raaj for his lead romantic track AJNABI, Shamir has used Hamza for an indo-arabic track MANN TU TALBAT, a hip hop track in the voice of Adnan Sami, a retro track by Shaan Kunal and a new voice Amrita Kak, his personal favorite is the melancholic duet featuring Sultan Khan and Rekha Bharadwaj. The lyrics have been penned by Shabbir Ahmed. Shamir promises to have a new music release every alternate month. The very 1st quarter will see the music release of Superstar, Mr White Mr Black and Sangeet Sivan's Click

Shaurya-Of Honour, Faith and Belief

The director of 'Shaurya' Samar Khan is all praise for his cast of 'Shaurya' that includes Kay Kay Menon, Rahul Bose, Javed Jaffery and Minissha Lamba. The director is so happy that he has gone to the extent of calling this team a dream team. The director praises his cast in this film and says they were professionalism personified. His buddy Amrita Rao plays a cameo in this flick. Though she did a considerably small part she was very professional and she did not voice any complaints even when her schedule was stretched. 'Shaurya' is a story of justice, honour, faith and above all believing in yourself. A story of finding courage within, where friendships are tested in the battle which matters the most. The film is a battle for truth and justice. It is the story of Javed, a man wronged by his country by the very men who he fought with and who were his friends. It is the story of Siddhant, whose only aim in life was to escape reality and wasn't ready for what life presented to him. It is the story of Kavya who never understood why it was difficult to speak the truth. It is the story of Akash for whom living by the rules was the only way to live life. And it is the story of Brigadier Pratap, a man who lived by his own rules even if they were against humanity. Captain Javed Khan charged with mutiny, treason and killing a fellow officer is being tried for court martial. He refuses to speak in his defense as he fears that the secret of the night he holds is too powerful for the establishment to handle. Assigned to unearth the truth are Sid and Akash, two best friends, who are lawyers. They are two very ambitious young individuals who have absolutely contrasting views on life. Nevertheless, this one case will change their lives' forever. The case takes the two of them to Srinagar. While Akash follows the blueprint, Sid discovers a new meaning in life. Kavya, Javed and of course the man in question, Brigadier Pratap all start becoming catalysts in the case that starts becoming much more than he thinks it is. Yet the unanswered questions remain. Why is Javed silent? What is the truth behind that night? Why is Brigadier Pratap hell bent on getting Javed convicted? Will Sid have the courage to save Javed's life and his? To know the answer to all these questions we must wait patiently for 'Shaurya' to hit theatres. By what has been revealed so far 'Shaurya's plot sure seems to be fast-paced and entertaining. It looks like a movie with the right components for a successful flick. We hope it becomes a hit and makes a mark at the box office.

Kareena reinvented in 'Bombay Samurai'

Kareena Kapoor's career seems to be heading to an exciting new level with Dev Benegal's film "Bombay Samurai". Post-marriage, she seemed to flounder in her choices with her half-hearted crusader's role in Prakash Jha's "Satyagraha" and the totally inane social activist's role in "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein". With "Bombay Samurai", Kareena finally seems to have got her post-marriage formula right. According to sources, the film is "a crazy zany rollicking roller coaster ride with amazing twists and turns. There are seven to eight pivotal characters. But Kareena and Farhan (Akhtar) preside over the show". "They play a couple like no other seen before in our films. They are wacky and unpredictable. The two actors will have a ball playing their outgoing zestful characters," the source added. Both Kareena and Farhan were keen to work with one another. Says Farhan: "I've seen Kareena's work. She is consistently excellent. I was keen to work with her. Dev's film gives us a chance to try something different." Kareena expressed the highest admiration for Farhan: "I admire Farhan for being multi-talented. Which other director has done so well as an actor? Farhan took my breath away in 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'. I am really looking forward to working with him." The Farhan-Kareena film starts after Kareena's annual holiday in Switzerland in December. Incidentally, she goes on this annual Christmas-New Year holiday in Switzerland without fail every year with husband Saif Ali Khan.

This Offbeat Post By Saloni Sharma Is An Epic Face Palm For Bra-Shamers

Shaming-the word is in trend these days. Shaming a woman for everything she does is what it stands for. She’s fat and it becomes body shaming, she’s perfect at the right places and it gives rise to slut shaming, and if her bra straps show, that heinous crime inevitably calls for Bra shaming. In a society which has its own set of guidelines for the way we lead our lives, Saloni Chopra is a non-conformist. The what-to-dos, and what-not-to-dos somehow come across as heavy shackles, and very rarely does someone step up to break the stereotype. That’s what Saloni has done it with her recent posts.
