Sharman does a drag once again

Trust Sharman Joshi to evoke laughter in auditoriums every time he makes an appearance. While 'Golmaal' has been fetching rave reviews all over for its entire starcast, one youngster who has benefited in a big way from the response to the flick is Sharman Joshi. While he plays an integral part of the script, one can't miss the sequence when he gets into female attire in one of his trademark sequences that he has perfected over the period of time. In a hilarious sequence that never breaches the line of vulgarity, he dresses up as a young nubile micromini'nshort-top attired girl who fools her way into a garage and runs away with a sports car from the owner [Mukesh Tiwari]. No wonder the sequence has turned into a hit, both with single screen as well as the multiplex crowd. One such memorable sequence by Sharman was in his first hit 'Style' where he, along with the other hero Sahil Khan, stays as girls in hostel! It's not just the body language but the entire tone and accent that Sharman has perfected while acting as a girl!

Sharman tends to 'shy away from sex comedies'

Popular for his comic timing, actor Sharman Joshi says he is not comfortable doing a sex comedy at this point of time. "Sex comedies are something that I can enjoy watching, but somehow I tend to shy away from sex comedies. But never say never. I might end up doing one in the future so, you never know. But in the near future, I don't see myself doing a sex comedy," Sharman told. In the last few years, he has given back-to-back flop films like "Super Nani", "Gang of Ghosts" and "War Chhod Na Yaar", but the "3 Idiots" actor wants to "continue to have faith in myself". "We all go through a low phase, but the best way is to look at it positively. That's all we can do. It's a creative field. Sometimes, things don't work out," he added. Would he like to direct films? "If I feel strongly at that point of time that I should direct and make it special, then I would go ahead and do it. But no plans right now," he said.

Sharvanand - Good times for him

The next few days will be the most tension-filled one for Sharvanand. The talented actor has Veedhi ---The Street and Amma Cheppandi almost ready for release. Veedhi, produced by Usha Kiran Movies, will have its audio released on Thursday. V Dorairaj is directing the film. Gopika is the heroine while Anoop Rubens has scored the music. The next day his Amma Cheppandi is set for release. By all accounts, Sharavanand's show in the movie is the standout. The director himself said as much in a recent interview. The story of a youth and his mother is told in a tender fashion. Sharvanand himself says it is once in a lifetime role. As one of the talented young actors, Sharvanand deserves the opportunities coming his way.

Sharvanand has arrived

Our impressions on him after Vennila seems not misplaced. His amazing performance in Amma Cheppindi will in all probability carry it past the winning post. It takes lot of intelligence to play a moron. If it is overplayed, it becomes a parody, almost a burlesque. But Sharvanand has played it just about perfectly and confirmed that he is the man to watch in the coming days. Sharvanand has another big one releasing next week. His Veedhi will be another test of character. The rise of actors like Sharvanand bodes well for the industry. Urban, suave, and comfortable with the idea of experimentation, actors like him are the need of the hour.
