Shakti Kapoor-Kader Khan back with HHDK

Remember a small time film called 'Hum Hain Kamaal Ke' that came around a decade and a half back? For starters it was a film starring Kader Khan and Anupam Kher in lead roles as deaf and blind respectively. A comedy that also starred Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Aroona Irani, it went on to do decent business at the box office. 13 years hence comes a film with a similar title, HUM HAIN DHAMAAL KE that again stars Kader Khan, Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Aroona Irani along with Shakti Kapoor. What makes the project further interesting is the fact that it brings back the Shakti Kapoor-Kader Khan jodi, something that was formidable for the most of the 80s and early 90s. Directed by P Jitendra, one waits to see if HHDK brings back the nostalgia when it releases in the month of November?

Sharman does a drag once again

Trust Sharman Joshi to evoke laughter in auditoriums every time he makes an appearance. While 'Golmaal' has been fetching rave reviews all over for its entire starcast, one youngster who has benefited in a big way from the response to the flick is Sharman Joshi. While he plays an integral part of the script, one can't miss the sequence when he gets into female attire in one of his trademark sequences that he has perfected over the period of time. In a hilarious sequence that never breaches the line of vulgarity, he dresses up as a young nubile micromini'nshort-top attired girl who fools her way into a garage and runs away with a sports car from the owner [Mukesh Tiwari]. No wonder the sequence has turned into a hit, both with single screen as well as the multiplex crowd. One such memorable sequence by Sharman was in his first hit 'Style' where he, along with the other hero Sahil Khan, stays as girls in hostel! It's not just the body language but the entire tone and accent that Sharman has perfected while acting as a girl!

Short duration results in massive show count for Eklavya

Tomorrow's release 'Eklavya - The Royal Guard' boasts of just 100 minutes duration and that seems to have only worked in the favor of the producer, distributors and the exhibitors. With no biggie apart from 'Guru' running at multiplexes and 'Traffic Signal' and 'Black Friday' being the only other notable films in the fray, multiplexes screens are in extreme shortage of Hindi film software. 'Eklavya' duration reading just about 100 minutes has only been a boon as prominent multiplexes are bringing the film at as many as 16-18-20 shows a day, even though the print count is relatively low. Says the GM of a leading multiplex chain, "The film is carrying excellent pre-release reports hence a good start is inevitable. Moreover, since there is zero competition for a biggie like this and our screens are anyways looking at something worthwhile to play on this weekend, we are bringing 'Eklavya' at a dozen and a half shows a day."
