'Boys' fame Siddharth will now play the role of an international carom player in a Hindi movie. Close of the heels of the success of movies like 'Iqbal' and 'Chak De India', which dealt about cricket and jockey, several films are being churned out in Bollywood with sports as its crux. John Abraham plays a football player in 'Gopal'. Siddharth dons the role of an international carom player for a film titled 'Striker' and playing opposite him is Padmapriya. It is her first assignment in Hindi. Siddharth is a talented carom player and has won several events. He was the automatic choice for the role.
Siddharth, Cheran to tango!
Siddharth made a fantastic beginning to his career with 'Ayudha Ezhuthu' is going places. A couple of big hits in Telugu followed by 'Rang De Basanti' have taken him to stardom. Flooded with offers from both Telugu and Bollywood, Siddharth is busy shooting round the clock. Adding one more in his kitty is a movie to be produced by Cheran. Siddharth, who was last seen in 'Ayutha Ezhuthu' in Tamil, has been roped in by Cheran for his next movie. It is said the film would go to floors once Cheran completes 'Pirivom Sandhippom' and Siddharth is done with his existing projects.
Siddharth sings in 'Santosh Subramaniam'
'Santosh Subramaniam' will be admired by all age-groups, says director Raja with confidence. 'The greatest commercial value in contemporary films is love. We have portrayed love in a different form in 'Santosh Subramaniam', which would be loved by all', says director Raja. The movie, a remake of Telugu hit 'Bommarillu', features Jeyam Ravi, Genelia and Prakashraj in lead roles. Former international cricketer Sadagoppan Ramesh plays a prominent role. A huge house constructed at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh and a bus with state-of-the-art facilities bought at a cost of Rs 10 lakh, to be used in the movie are the highlights, says Raja. According to Raja, the movie would be one of the rare movies that have a love story laced with family sentiments. Devi Sri Prasad has come up with catchy musical score for the movie. Boys fame Siddharth, who had been part of Telugu hits like 'Nuvvastanantae Nenodantana' and 'Bommarillu', has sung a song. Remakes are no mere translations. It is a difficult job and one has to give his best to arrive at quality product, he adds. Kannan handles cinematography while Manoj does the editing. Plans are on to release the movie by January.
Siddique the man behind Vijay's 50th film
Vijay's 50th film would be directed by Malayalam filmmaker Siddique, who had earlier worked with the actor in for the film 'Friends.' According to sources, the movie would be produced by Vijay's father S. A. Chandrasekaran. Vijay, who listened to the storyline, gave his consent immediately to act in the film, it is learnt. Vijay is currently acting in the film 'Villu' which is directed by Prabhu Deva. He'll then be seen in a film titled 'Vettaikaran' followed by his 50th film which will be directed by Siddique.
Siddique to start Vijay’s film on April 1
The shooting of ace director Siddique’s directorial venture ‘Bodyguard’ remake that features Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the lead will commence from April 1 in Chennai. The only common thing between original Malayalam version and Tamil version is director Siddique and rest of all will change in Tamil version that suits Vijay’s image. Asin is playing the female lead opposite Vijay in the Tamil and that has Nayantara opposite Dileep in original Malayalam version. Vidyasagar has composed the music for the film and veteran cameraman Ekambaram, who has done Vijay’s ‘Sura’ recently, is also handling the same part in this film. And, ace comedian Vadivelu is doing the comedy track along with Vijay and MS Bhaskar in the movie.
Siddharth's impact on Ajay Devgan
