Thimiru fame Tharun Gopi will be directing Silambarasan for a movie soon. This film would be produced by GV Films. It will be the first of Simbhu's films for 2007. His next would be produced by noted distributor Trichy Viswanathan and would be directed by Udayan. Udayan was instrumental in reviving Vijayakanth's career with Perarasu. Udayan had narrated Simbhu a story and reportedly impressed by it, the actor decided to do the same. Supposedly an action-packed entertainer, the movie will hit the floors by the middle of this year.
Simbhu Devan's Arai En 304
After Balaji Sakthivel, who started Kallori for director Shankar's home production S Pictures, it is now the turn of Simbhu Devan to commence his next. Simbhu Devan had directed a hilarious entertainer Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi for S Pictures. After the huge success of Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi, Simbhu Devan is ready to commence his next. Tentatively titled Arai En 304, the news gathering ground is it would be hilarious on the lines of Imsai Arasan. Buzz is that Vivek would play the lead role. Simbhu Devan had made a mark for himself rendering a historical film in his maiden venture itself. Expectations are soaring on his next.
Simbhu moving ahead with gusto
Silambarasan's Kaalai is shaping up fast. After Vallavan, Simbhu went on a self-imposed exile. He has resurfaced with Kaalai. Directed by Tharun Gopi, the movie stars Vedika opposite him. The actor has been reportedly taking extra efforts to ensure that all scenes come out well in Kaalai. A couple of song sequences have been shot and few talkie portions too. Simbhu is impressed with the output and heaped laurels on Tharun Gopi. Silambarasan's Kettavan too would commence shortly. Keen to move ahead is Simbhu.
Simbhu refuses to change title
Simbhu has firmly denied changing the title of his forthcoming film Kettavan. According to reports, the honchos of Tamil Film Producers council had approached the actor urging him to change the title of the movie which is underproduction stating that it was derogatory. However Silambarasan insisted that there is nothing wrong with the title. Simbu has offered the explanation that Kettavan means one who has been spoilt because of a woman, and so did not censure anyone in particular. So the film will retain its original title. Similarly producer ' director Sakthi Chidambaram has also reportedly refused to change the title of his movie Porukki. According to him, Porukki means one who picks out the ills of society.
Simbhu to sing for Balakrishna
Apart from acting, Silambarasan is also known for lending voice to songs. Loosu Penney and Thathai Thathai are to name a few. After Tamil, the actor's voice is now going places with he is all set to sing for a Balakrishna movie. It is learnt that Balakrishna and the director of the Telugu movie had approached Simbu to lend his voice for a melody song. Though Simbu is not well versed in Telugu, he had apparently accepted the offer because of his interest in music. Meanwhile, it is said that Simbu would change the title of his movie Kettavan following instructions from Producers Council. The title of Sundar C starrer Porukki has also been changed as Adhirudhilla.
Simbhu speaks out...
Silambarasan's 'Kaalai' is almost completed. The movie would be released for this Pongal. Directed by Tharun Gopi, the movie is an action-packed entertainer with all commercial elements. When queried, Silambarasan, says, "The movie has shaped up well. I have penned and sung a song Kutti Pisasu in the movie. I was shot in Venice, Amsterdam and Rome." Asked about the storyline, Silambarasan, says, "I plays a youth called Jeeva. There are a couple of other characters called Jeeva in the movie. For all their wrong-doings, I land up in trouble. How I overcome them forms the crux." Asked why a big gap after Vallavan, he says, '"Vallavan was the result of my hard work. It took over a year for me to complete 'Vallavan'. I wanted my next to be more grand and rich in content. Obviously I took my own time." Silambarasan further adds, "Kettavan which has been temporarily halted will resume this March. I would be directing the movie. A song would be recorded for the world renowned OSO Studios in London. It would be shot featuring Namitha with 100 junior artistes. We are planning to use only Indian musical instruments for recording the song" "Silambatttam is ready to go to floors. Directed by cinematographer Saravanan, Silambattam is produced by Lakshmi Movie Makers. It is likely that Shreya may play my heroine. Dhina will score the music", says Simbhu.
