February is going to be a release heavy month. There would be multiple releases every week. February 23rd would be most crucial with as many as 6-7 releases lined up. Till about a week or two back, there were headlines galore as stated above. But not anymore! With the release plan of near future becoming clearer, it had come as a surprise to see the movie count coming down from 6 to as low as 1 on February 23rd! Yes, that's true - just 1. And the lucky movie which is now going to be the sole release of the week is none other than HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT. LTD. While earlier, it seemed that along with HTPL, the other films that would be coming on the same day would be NISHABD, RED, JUST MARRIED and WATER, postponing of each of these films has resulted in a clear ground for this Reema Kagti debut effort. There is still a probability though of Aishwarya Rai starrer PROVOKED coming along with HTPL but with zero publicity so far, that does seem like a distant dream.
Mahesh Babu hits a SIXER
'Brahmotsavam' crossed $1 million-mark in USA by the end of First Weekend. Its the 6th film in Mahesh Babu's career to join the million dollar club after Dookudu, SVSC, One, Aagadu and Srimanthudu. Out of 19 TFI Films which earned over $1 Million, Superstar contributed six and he is the only South Indian Hero to do it. Brahmotsavam USA Box Office: First Weekend Collections: $1,019,293 [Break-Up: Thurs Premiere ($560,274), Fri ($245,960), Sat ($171,680) and Sun ($37,226)]. Overseas rights of 'Brahmotsavam' were sold for Rs 13 crore. While the Weekend Gross stood at Rs 6.72 crore, Share could be approximately Rs 3.70 crore. Sierra Leone burial crews reportedly on strike, leaving Ebola victims in the street
Burial teams in Sierra Leone reportedly went on strike over lack of hazard pay this week, leaving the bodies of victims of the Ebola outbreak in the country's streets. The Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation first reported the strike Wednesday. Sidie Yahya Tunis, a spokesman for the country's health ministry, described the situation to The Associated Press as "very embarrassing" and insisted that money was available to pay the crews. He promised to provide more information later Wednesday. Speaking on a radio breakfast program Wednesday, deputy health minister Madina Rahman said the strike had been "resolved," though organizers could not immediately be reached to confirm it was over. Rahman said the dispute centered on a one-week backlog for hazard pay that had been deposited in the bank but was not given to burial teams on time. "The health ministry is going to investigate the delay in the health workers not receiving their money," Rahman said. Tunis said the burial teams make up a total of 600 workers organized in groups of 12. The government was already facing criticism this week over a shipping container filled with medical gear and mattresses that has been held up at the port for more than a month. Sierra Leone is one of three West African countries, along with Liberia and Sierra Leone, hit hardest by the outbreak. The official number of confirmed Ebola cases is 2,100, with more than 600 dead, though global health officials say that the real number of both cases and deaths is likely far higher. In all, more than 3,400 people have died since the outbreak was first reported in March. In the current outbreak, burial teams in West Africa are being asked to retrieve the bodies of people who die from Ebola in their homes and in the streets as opposed to in hospitals. They do their job clad in multiple layers of clothing, along with goggles, boots, gloves, and head coverings in order to prevent infection. Meanwhile, in Spain, officials said a second nursing assistant has been placed under observation for Ebola in a Madrid hospital where a colleague became infected after working with two Spanish missionary priests who contracted the disease in West Africa and later died at the center. It was not known whether the second assistant also treated the two priests. The infected nursing assistant is the first person known to catch the disease outside the outbreak zone in West Africa during the current epidemic. She was said to be in stable condition Wednesday. The woman's husband is also under observation in the Carlos III hospital while two others, a nurse and a Spanish engineer who had traveled to Nigeria, have been given the all -clear after testing negative for the virus. Spanish authorities are investigating how the nursing assistant became infected. They are also monitoring some 50 people who came into contact with her or also tended the two priests that died. Health authorities in Madrid have faced accusations of not following protocol and poorly preparing health care workers for dealing with Ebola.

Manju Warrier essays Volleyball coach Vandana, who comes to train the prisoners. Anoop Menon plays Manju Warrier's husband in the movie, which is scripted by Arunlal Ramachandran. Karinkunnam Sixes revolves around a prestigious volleyball match and how the coach trains the prisoners for it. Suraj Venjarammoodu, State award-winner Sudev Nair, Lena, Sudheer Karamana, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Baiju, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Manikuttan, Nandu, Jacob Gregory, etc. play the supporting roles in the movie. Manju Warrier's last outing, Vettah was also scripted by Arunlal Ramachandran. The actress has received wide appreciation for her portrayal of Sreebala IPS, a highly-efficient lady police officer who investigates a murder mystery. The actress is sharing the screen with Anoop Menon, for the first time in her career. Karinkunnam Sixes is also an ambitious project for director Deepu Karunakaran, who made a mark with his last venture, Fireman.

Karinkunnam Sixes, the upcoming Manju Warrier starring sports drama has finally got a release date. The Deepu Karunakaran directed movie will hit the theatres on July 7th, for Ramzan season. The movie, which is scripted by Arunlal Ramachandran, will have Manju Warrier in the role Vandana, a volleyball coach who is assigned to train the prisoners. The actress is playing a sports woman, for the first time in her career. Manju Warrier is teaming up with Deepu Karunakaran, the Fireman fame film-maker, for the first time. She is also sharing the screen with Anoop Menon, for the first time in her career. Karinkunnam Sixes depicts the story of a prestigious volleyball match and how a lady coach trains the prisoners team for it. Anoop Menon, the popular actor-writer plays Manju Warrier's husband in the movie. Suraj Venjarammoodu, State award-winner Sudev Nair, Lena, Sudheer Karamana, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Baiju, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Manikuttan, Nandu, Jacob Gregory, etc. play the supporting roles in the movie. Jayakrishna Gummadi is the director of photography. Rahul Raj composes the songs and background score.
