Navdeep of 'Arindhum Ariyamalum' fame does the main lead in this upcoming movie 'Solla Solla Innikkum'. Produced by M Cinema, the movie is directed by G Murali Abbas. Madhumita plays the female lead in this movie which has a notable star cast including Prakash Raj, Ashish Vidhyarti and Vijayakumar. Music is being composed by Bharathwaj and Cinematography is handled by Arthur A Wilson. The plot of the movie is woven around the lifestyle of present generation youngsters in Chennai. Prominent sequences have been canned in Chennai itself and the songs are pipelined to be made in Kerala, Rajasthan, Jaipur and also in Germany and Australia. One out of the two songs composed has been penned down by lyricist Na Muthukumar and it is to be canned in Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal in Madurai. One more song is written by Vivega and is to be made in Australia and Germany. The movie made with a youthful team is expected to be a good entertainer.
'Poi Solla Porom' in troubed waters
'Poi Solla Porom' directed by 'Kireedam' fame Vijay and produced by Priyadarshan seems to courting trouble one after the other. The film is the Tamil remake of the Hindi film 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' which narrated the story of a man and his struggles to retain a plot of land that he had acquired. After Priyadarshan's production house Four Frames had announced this project, the producers of the Hindi film filed a case against Priyadarshan for not obtaining the necessary permission to remake their film. This issue seems to have been sorted out but then another problem has taken shape. Producer S. Shanmugam has filed a case stating that the title 'Poi Solla Porom' is his and that Priyadarshan cannot use it for the remake film. Shanmugam had first addressed this to the Producers' Council. Since no solution was meted out he has chosen get help from the legal system. However, the makers of 'Poi Solla Porom' insist that the movie will be released as planned on the 29th of August.
'Poi Solla Porom' - UTV & Priyadarshans joint venture
'Poi Solla Porom', co-produced by UTV pictures and Priyadarshan's Four Frames, is the Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed and the box-office hit 'Khosla ka Ghosla'of Bollywood, which also bagged a National award in the category of best feature film in Hindi. Directed by 'Kireedom' fame Vijay, the movie features 'Vanam Vasapadum' Karthik Kumar, Preethi, Nasser and Nedumudi Venu in pivotal roles. ' 'Poi Solla Porom' is a well scripted and executed film that is sure to stand out in the crowd," says Priyadarshan about the film. Nasser revealed that he has played a meaty role in Tamil cinema after a long time in the audio launch of 'Poi Solla Porom'. Actor Rajesh has lent his voice to Nedumudi venu. Music is scored by M.G.Sree Kumar, a noted Malayalam playback singer. The flick is slated for release on the 12th of September preceded by a star studded premiere show on the day before it in Satyam multiplex.
Promotional song for 'Poi Solla Porom'
Director Vijay, who made a mark for himself with his maiden directorial venture 'Kireedom' starring Ajith and Trisha, is busy with his next project 'Poi Solla Porom'. Interestingly, this is director Priyadarshan's first production venture in Tamil and Vijay was his associate in many films and commercials. Vijay has come out with an exclusive promotional song to be used only for publicity purposes. The song is a romantic number penned by Na Muthukumar and choreographed by Gayathri Raghuram. The promotional song would be aired on television channels soon. The film stars 'Kanda Naal Muthal' Karthik, Piya, Nasser, Mouli and Nedumudi Venu. Shooting for the film is complete and post production work is going on right now. The film is expected to be released in the first week of August. Says Vijay, 'The song will reflect the storyline of the film. Though the attempt is new in Kollywood, this has become a common feature in Hollywood and Bollywood. The director also adds, 'we are planning for the music launch of 'Poi Solla Porom' in July.' Heaping loads of praise on Priyadarshan, Vijay said, 'I am happy that my mentor has selected me to direct his first production venture in Tamil. I hope the film will fulfill his expectations.' The 'Subramaniyapuram' team has also made a special song just for publicity purposes.
Hassles cleared for 'Poi Solla Porom'
The legal wrangle over the release of UTV's 'Poi Solla Porom' has eventually been cleared. The interim stay on its release was vacated and now the movie will be released as scheduled on the 12th of this month. A press release said that Tathvamashi Arts had filed a suit before the City Civil Court, Chennai along with an application seeking a permanent injunction restraining UTV Software Communications Limited from using the title 'Poi Solla Porom'. A Civil Revision Petition was filed and an ex parte order was passed this morning granting interim injunction. After realizing the gravity of the situation and the urgency as the film was scheduled to release soon the court posted the matter in the Chamber at 5 pm on the 10th of September and directed Tathvamashi Arts to be present. The Interim Order was vacated on merits and disposed of the Civil Revision Petition itself with a direction to the III Assistant Civil judge, Chennai to take up the matter on the merits on an urgent basis and pass orders thereon and direct immediate communication of the High Court's order to the III Assistant City Civil Judge, Chennai. The matter was heard by the III Assistant City Civil Judge, Chennai at 5.30 pm on the 10th of this month. It was found that there was no order of injunction in respect of the film's title, in view of any court and UTV Software communications was free to release the film as scheduled. The Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed box office success, acclaimed Hindi laugh- riot 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', 'Poi Solla Porom' (PSP) is presented by Priyadarshan. With director Vijay's directorial acumen and Priyadarshan's creative production backing this film, it is one of the most awaited films of this year. Solli Adippen in March?
The much awaited Solli Adippen, which is popular comedian Vivek's maiden venture as hero on the silver screen, is expected to release this March. Recently, the movie's audio launch was celebrated in Chennai in a grand manner with Super Star Rajinikanth and director Shankar taking part. The movie directed by art-director Ramakrishnan has musical score by Deva and Vivek has himself crooned a song. Buzz is that Vivek, as a Good Samaritan, has helped financially to ensure a smooth release of the movie. It looks certain that Solli Adippen would make it to theatres his March and Vivek is optimistic that the movie would go on to make it big.
