Three songs of Rahman nominated for Oscar
Expectations are riding high on our very own A R Rahman now. The reason? Well, three songs of the prodigy have been nominated for the Oscar! There is a separate category for the 'Best Original Song' in the Oscar award categories every year. This year, which happens to be the 79th year of the award function, the Academy released a list of 56 songs that will compete with each other, of which three songs are Rahman's. The songs include two songs from Rang De Basanti namely Khalbali and Luka Chuppi and one song from Water namely, Chan Chan. 'Kallori': Songs of the campus
Director Balaji Sakthivel has introduced Joshwa Sridhar in his previous movie 'Kadhal'. The songs were quite different and topped the charts for quite long. Balaji has again roped in the same young talented musician to score the music for 'Kallori' as well. The songs, with lyrics penned by Na. Muthukumar, are said to have the potential of becoming the campus songs of Tamilnadu in the coming years. The unique thing about the songs is, the director has shot the song sequences first and then got them tuned. Joshwa Sridhar has captured the life of the story and the visuals and created tunes that fit well into the entirety of the movie. Na. Muthukumar, who has shown amazing growth as a lyricist, has penned some poetic and meaningful songs for the film. Harris Jayaraj, one of the busy composers in Kollywood cinema industry, is currently composing for Chiyaan Vikram's Irumugan and Suriya's S3. Shah Rukh Khan: Songs of 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' are fantastic
Shah Rukh Khan is yet to watch the trailer of his filmmaker friend Karan Johar's directorial venture 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', the superstar says he finds songs in the movie "fantastic". There were reports that SRK had seen the trailer of Karan's much-awaited film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and asked him to make some changes in it as the actor was unhappy with it. "I have not seen the trailer of 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and I haven't said that this is how a trailer should be, I have read (these) reports. Even if I think that way I will not discuss it outside. I have faith it (trailer) will be good," Shah Rukh told reporters during a special Eid press conference. "I have heard three songs and they are amazing. I have heard the title track and it is one of the nicest ballets. It is fantastic," the actor said. Starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Fawad Khan, the film releases this Diwali.
Canning of songs in progress for 'Ayya!'
Canning of songs is in progress for 'Ayya!' directed by A Venkatesh and produced by young producer Ch Ramakrishna on the banner of Victory Creations with action king Arjun as hero and Mallika Kapoor of 'Maha'-fame as heroine. Presently, two songs are being choreographed at Kudremukh and Pollachi on Arjun and Mallika Kapoor and their picturisation would come to an end by October 10. With this the unit would wrap up the shooting. The first schedule of the film was completed in 40 days and the audio is being planned to be released on October 15. 'Ayya!' is most likely to be released as a Diwali gift on October 21 simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages. Teacher is a person, who disciplines the students. How a teacher inculcates discipline among the people in the society by crushing the anarchy with an iron fist is the subject of the film. The film has cent per cent commercial values and has Prakash Raj and Pradeep Rawat in the cast. There are five songs and six fights in the film while D Imam held the baton for the music for 'Ayya!'
