Soodhu Kavvum going to remake in kannada

Soodhu Kavvum which will soon be remade in Kannada the remake rights have been bought by Rockline Venkatesh.It is one of the wittiest films I have seen in recent times. It’s a rarity nowadays to see a film with out-of-the-box story line laced with sensible humour. The film has done exceptional business in Tamil, and I’m sure it will be bigger hit in Kannada as well,” Venkatesh of Rockline Productions, told IANS. Rockline Venkatesh is known for producing Kannada blockbusters such as “Super”, “Preethse” and “Mourya”.A story about four misfit kidnappers, “Soodhu Kavvum” was reportedly made on a budget of Rs.2 crore. The film, which is still running in cinemas in Tamil Nadu, managed to collect over Rs.8 crore within the first two weeks of its release. The lead cast for the untitled Kannada remake is yet to be finalised. Talks are also on for the Telugu and Hindi remake of “Soodhu Kavvum”.

'Soodhu Kavvum' to be screened at Zurich film fest

Nalan Kumarasamy-directed Tamil dark comedy "Soodhu Kavvum", which revolves around three misfit kidnappers, will have its first international screening at upcoming 10th Zurich Film Festival. Zurich film fest will take place between Sep 25 and Oct 5. "Soodhu Kavvum", which features Vijay Sethupathi, Simhaa and Ashok Selvan in the lead roles, is one of the biggest Tamil hits in recent times. In the New World View category, "Soodhu Kavvum" will be screened along with other Indian films such as "Court", "Fandry", "Gulabi Gang", "I.D", "Katiyabaaz", "Liar's Dice", "Lucia", "Monsoon Shootout", "Ship of Theseus", "Titli", "Sulemani Keeda" and a few shorts, according to the official website of the film fiesta.

Rohit Shetty set to directs Soodhu Kavvum in Hindi

Bollywood director Rohit Shetty is gearing up to remake Tamil hit movie Vijay Sethupathi’s Soodhu Kavvum. To be produced by Rohit under Rohit Shetty Entertainment Pvt Ltd, this film will hit the floors from mid 2014. Rohit Shetty is impressed with Soodhu Kavvum story line that he is keen on either directing or producing the movie and apparently acquired the remake rights. UTV Movies, Fox Movies and Endemol India were among the others in rush for Soodhu Kavvum remake rights. Currently, Rohit Shetty is busy with his Ajay Devagan starring Singham 2, written and directed by him. For now, Imran Khan and Shraddha Kapoor are expected to play the leads in Soodhu Kavvum remake while Sudeep's name is also being considered to play Vijay Sethupathi’s role. Sources claim, hit remake filmmaker Rohit Shetty is likely to wield megaphone for Soodhu Kavvum remake too, but the Golmaal director has immense pressure to work with Shah Rukh Khan post Singham 2 and so we also hear the name of director Shimit Amin of Chakde India.

Rajasekhar to play lead role in Soodhu Kavvum's remake

Rajasekhar will play the lead role in the remake version of Tamil movie Soodhu Kavvum. Vijay Sethupathi and Sanchita Shetty played the lead roles in the original version. PVP Cinemas production has bought the remake rights and the movie revolves around a group of kidnappers. Touted to be a crime comedy entertainer, further details of the cast and crew of the Telugu version of the movie are yet to be revealed. Rajasekhar on the other hand is willing to play diverse roles in the coming years. He has wrapped the shooting schedules of Patta Pagalu movie, a horror genre film directed by Ram Gopal Varma.

'Golmaal 4' not remake of 'Soodhu Kavvum'

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty's next 'Golmaal 4' is not a remake of the Tamil hit 'Soodhu Kavvum', says the official publicist of the film. There were reports that the fourth instalment of the hit film franchise 'Golmaal' is inspired by the 2013 Tamil hit film 'Soodhu Kavvum'. The official publicist of the film on Thursday shunned all such claims. The statement read: 'We would like to state that the news is completely untrue and baseless.' Ajay Devgn will feature in the film. Apart from that everything about the film, from its storyline to the cast is being kept under wraps. Shetty hit the jackpot with 'Golmaal: Fun Unlimited' in 2006, and has been repeating the success formula with the film franchise. The other instalments were - 'Golmaal Returns' and 'Golmaal 3'.
