"During the making of the film, I was wondering if critics would maul the film. I am so happy that it was just the other way round", says Sriram Raghavan, director of JOHNNY GADDAAR, who is thrilled with the kind of support his film has got post-release. "Saying that I am overwhelmed with the media support would be understating the fact", Sriram comments, "Whether it is print, satellite or web media, people have come all out to appreciate the film. It is a very heartening feeling." There are mixed box office reports though. "Yes, the film didn't quite open on a very good note. But I can see word of mouth working in it's favour. The second week billing has been quite good too. In fact at numerous centres it is better than the first. Being a medium budget film, recovery was never an issue as money spent on it is already back."

The sensitive director from Tamil is known for his searing explorations of the darker side of human psyche. He has also managed to marry commerce and art in his movie. So you can look forward to his kind of movies. And looking forward to it is indeed Sriram, the Tamil actor. He is Srikanth in Tamil. In Telugu, he is named Sriram. After the success of 'Okariki Okaru', Sriram went into hibernation as far as Tollywood is concerned. But he is now coming back into Telugu with high hopes. Even though this is only a supporting actor role, he has taken to the film with a lot of enthusiasm. He says it is a pleasure to work with Venky and Selvaraghavan. 'They are complete professionals,' he says. After 'AMAV' he may have another Telugu film to do. But as of now his focus is only on that. The film may release in May.

Venu Sriram may direct Ravi Teja's next
Director Venu Sriram of "Oh My Friend" fame is in talks with actor Ravi Teja for a yet-untitled Telugu project that is expected to go on the floors next year. "Venu is currently busy giving final touches to the script. Ravi gave his consent after listening to a few lines of the story. If all goes as planned, the project may happen next year," a source from the film's unit told. The film will be produced by Dil Raju, who had also bankrolled Sriram's directorial debut "Oh My Friend". The source also said that the project may be delayed following the poor show of Ravi Teja's latest release "Kick 2". "Producer Raju has some issues with Ravi Teja's remuneration. He wants him to reduce his pay since 'Kick 2' didn't do well. They're still discussing about it and this is likely to delay the project by few months," the source said. Ravi Teja is currently busy wrapping up Telugu actioner "Bengal Tiger".
