The Kollywood would come together to pay rich tributes to veteran director Sreedhar, who passed away recently, on 7 November in Chennai. Sridhar, a trendsetting director came up with over 45 films besides introducing several young talents, brought repute for Tamil Cinema. His films 'Kadhalikka Neramillai', 'Vennira Adai', 'Ooty Varai Uravu', 'Urimai Kural', 'Nenjam Marapadhillai', 'Nenjil Oru Aalayam', 'Illamai Oonchaladukirathu', 'Policekaran Magal', 'Sivandha Mann' are still fresh in the hearts of movie lovers. A condolence meeting is to be held and its objective is to remember the contributions of Sridhar. The meet will take place at the Film Chamber on the 7th of November and most prominent members of the film fraternity are expected to attend. Speakers during the occasion will throw light on his achievements and contributions to the Tamil film industry.
Rahman wishes Joshua Sridhar for his 25th film Parandhu Sella Vaa
‘Parandhu Sella Vaa’ is a romantic comedy movie starring veteran actor Nasser’s son Luthfudeen, Aishwarya Rajesh and Chinese actress Narelle Kheng in lead roles. Three major comedians of Tamil industry - Sathish, RJ Balaji and Karunakaran - come together for this movie for the first time. The movie is directed by Dhanapal Padmanabhan. P.Arumaichandran produces the movie under the banner of 8 Point Entertainment. ‘Parandhu Sella Vaa’ is the landmark 25th film of energetic composer Joshua Sridhar who made a stunning debut with the critically acclaimed blockbuster ‘Kadhal’ in 2004. On hearing this, Oscar winning music composer A.R.Rahman has sent an exclusive message for Parandhu Sella Vaa team and Joshua Sridhar. The entire crew of ‘Parandhu Sella Vaa’ are excited in receiving special wishes from the music genius.
Emotional Rajini pays tribute to Sridhar
Kollywood came together to pay rich tributes to director Sridhar, who passed away recently At a condolence meeting organized by Tamil Film Producers Council at South India Film Chamber on November 7, 2008, the who's who of the industry including Rajinikanth and veteran director K Balachander took part. Rajinikanth who spoke during the occasion said, "I was not likely to act in 'Ilamai Oonjaladugiradhu'. However, I couldn't say no when Sridhar beseeched me about the movie on phone. Later, I wanted to include him as one of the producers of 'Arunachalam'. When I approached him with the offer, he said, 'Give me some other work than financial assistance." Rajini added: "Paying heed to his words, I decided to rope in him as the dialogue writer of 'Padaiyappa'. Later, I changed my decision as I felt that he might feel bad if a need arises to alter some of the dialogues he penned." "He has suffered pains for years before his death. As Swami Dayananda Saraswathi said those who suffer in this birth would not have any rebirth, Sridhar's pains in this birth says that he would not be born again'. Others who took part in the meeting include Film Chamber president KRG, Producers Council chief Ramanarayanan, directors K Balachandar, Bharathiraja, producers Kalaipuli S Thanu, Sivasakthi Pandian, Muktha Srinivasan, actors Sivakumar, Radharavi, Rajesh, Jayachitra among others.

Sridhar Reddy's film is 'Sneha Geetam'
It is well aware that Sridhar Reddy of Madhura Entertainment is turning a director and his film is likely to go to sets very soon. He announced the title of the film which he is going to direct at a press briefing recently. 'Sneha Geetam' is the title of the movie. The debutant director wanted to take fresh faces in the lead roles and he plans to conduct a talent search programme for the purpose in association with Zee Telugu channel. The film with love and friendship in its backdrop would go to sets in July this year.
Madhura Sridhar produces Ladies and Gentlemen
Madhura Sridhar who earlier directed youthful films Sneha Geetam, Its My Love Story and Back Bench Student is now set to turn producer. He has announced his first production film titled Ladies and Gentlemen. Madhura Sridhar is introducing his associate Manjunath to Tollywood as director. MVK Reddy will co-produce it. The regular shooting works of the film will commence from October month. Raghu Kunche is roped in as music composer for this Shirdi Sai Combines banner movie. Sirasri will pen the lyrics, Jai will crank the camera and Nivaas will pen the dialogues.
