After the super hit song 'Thoma Style' in Sound Thoma, Janapriyanayakan Dileep will once again croon for the new movie 'Shringaravelan'. Dileep will sing the song 'Ashakoshale Pennundo' together with playback singer Afsal.The movie which revolves around a marriage saree feature Kollywood star Vedika as the heroine. The movie which is the Onam offering from Dileep will also have director Laljose in an important role.
Dileep is Singaravelan
Director Jose Thomas has tentatively titled his new movie with Dileep as 'Singaravelan'. Coming after the last year's big hit of the team 'Mayamohini', the shoot for the film has started last week at Ottapalam.Scripted by Sibi K Thomas-Udhay Krishna, the movie has a plot about the community of weavers. Told in a humorous way, Dileep appear as an young man who doesn't want to stick to his community's job. Tamil actress Vedhika of Paradesi fame is playing Dileep's heroine.Singaravelan will be Dileep's big Onam release in September.Interestingly, director Deepan had earlier announced a movie with similar title two year's ago with young star Prithviraj, which was later abandoned..
Srinagara Kitty to Make a Guest Appearance in Majestic Express
Srinagara Kitty is one actor who never hesitates to appear in guest roles in various films. After being seen in guest appearances in films like 'Matte Banni Preetsona', 'Nan Life Nalli', 'Simpleaag Ond Love Story' and others, Kitty is all set to act in a guest appearance in Umesh Banakar starrer 'Majestic Express'. Kitty is playing a special cameo in 'Majestic Express' because of his friendship with Umesh Banakar. Off late, Kitty and Banakar share a special relationship and Banakar is co-producing 'Bahuparak' along with playing a small role in the film. So, Kitty has accepted to be a part of the film for his friendship with the actor-producer. Though the news about Kitty playing a cameo in the film is out, it is not yet divulged about what role Kitty is playing in the film as of now.
National Award: Sringaram strikes it rich
After being delayed by nearly a year because of court cases, the National Film Awards for 2005 were announced on Tuesday. It was an occasion to cherish for Tamil cinema as the national award for Best Special Effects has been won by Tata Elexi for the film Anniyan, Best Music Director award for Lalgudi Jayaraman for Sringaram, the Best Cinematography Award has been bagged by Madhu Ambat for Sringaram and choreographer Saroj Khan getting the Best Choreography award for Sringaram again. The movie Sringaram- Dance of Love is based on the Devadasi tradition and Bharatanatyam, the most popular classical dance of India. Produced by Golden Square Films Private Limited, the movie is directed by Sharada Ramanathan and cinematography is Madhu Ambat. The music for this movie has been composed by the legendary Padmabhushan Lagudi Jayaraman. This is the first time that the legend has directed the music for a movie. The award for Best Film on Family Welfare was bagged by Cheran's Thavamai Thavamirunthu. Popular playback singer Naresh Iyer was chosen the Best Male Playback Singer for Rang De Basanti, which has musical score by A R Rahman. The Aamir Khan-starrer Rang De Basanti has been declared the Best Popular Film providing Wholesome Entertainment and the Best Actor award has gone to Amitabh Bachchan for the Hindi film 'Black' and the Best Actress award to Sarika for her role in the English film Parzania. Its director, Rahul Dholakia, also got the Best Direction Award.
