Star successors in Chennai-600028

Venkat Prabhu's Chennai ' 600028 has won a rare distinction in Tamil cinema. Sons and daughters of over half-a-dozen yesteryear film personalities are coming together for the movie. The movie is directed by S P B Charan (playback singer S P Balasubramanyam's son), while music composer Gangai Amaran's son Venkat Prabhu is directing the flick. Music composer Deva's nephew Jay plays the hero, while Vijayalakshmi (director Agathiyan's daughter) is the heroine. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja (Maestro Ilayaraja's son) and his sister Bhavadharini has sung a couple of songs in the movie. Says Venkat Prabhu, 'We have a big responsibility on our shoulders now. It is our duty to ensure that we live up to the expectations of the audience in the movie.'

Star plans for Deepavali!

Deepavali, the Festival of Lights, promises fun and delight among the film fraternity. Or a host of movies would hit the screens and a festive atmosphere would prevail in Kollywood. Let's check out what few stars have planned to spend the Deepavali day: Prasanna Prasanna, who is busy acting in 'Sadhu Mirandal' and 'Anjathae', would celebrate the day with his family and perhaps visit his friends and relatives. The actor has plans to watch a few Deepavali releases too. Jeevan Jeevan, who is eagerly awaiting the release of 'Machakakaran' for this Deepavali, says, 'it is a special Deepavali for me. For the first time, my movie is hitting the screens on Deepavali day. I am thrilled to wait and see the audience response. I would be visiting theatres and interact with my fans on the day." Srikanth and Vandana For Srikanth, it is a special Deepavali. It is his first after his wedding with Vandana. The actor, who married Vandana recently, will be celebrating this Deepavali with his wife. It would be grand celebrations, he says. Narain Narain, who got married recently, will be celebrating the Deepavali with his wife. "It is my thalai Deepavalai and celebrations would be grand." Many including Vishal, Silambarasan have plans up their sleeves to see the movies hitting the screens on Deepavali day.

'Star Nite' on 21 and 23 Dec

To commemorate the 75th year of Tamil Cinema, the South India Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) will conduct mega Star Nites in Malaysia and Singapore on 21 and 23 December respectively. Sarath Kumar, president, SIFAA on Tuesday said, 'All the prominent actors and actresses will take part in the celebrations. The proceeds from the shows would be utilised to construct a shopping complex at the Nadigar Sangam premises and also provide financial assistance to the under-privileged members of the association.' Sarath Kumar said both Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan have expressed their unavailability to take part in the celebrations due to the prior commitments. Actors Surya, Vijay, Vikram, Shreya, Trisha, Namitha would take part in the celebrations, informed Sarath. Actors Vijayakumar, Radha Ravi, Sibiraj, Shaam, Sandhya, Vindhya among others were present during the press briefing in Nadigar Sangam on Tuesday (Dec 4).

Star crossed lovers Suriya and Jyothika- 2nd Wedding Anniversary

It is two years since Suriya and Jyothika got married amidst large scale expectations. The pair proved to be sensational in the Tamil Film Industry churning out hits one after the other. As the famous old saying goes'.'there is a woman behind every man's success', Suriya most certainly credits his scaling phenomenal heights in the field of acting to Jyothika. As reported by us earlier the Nadigar Sangam organized grand Star Cricket is all set for the 17th of April at Chepauk and the list of the celebrity captains and their teams have been announced and here we go. Suriya(Chennai Singams), Karthi (Kovai Kings), Vishal (Madurai College), Jayam Ravi (Nellai Dragons), Arya (Salem Cheetas), Vijay Sethupathi (Ramnad Rhinos), Jiiva (Thanjai Warriors) and Sivakarthikeyan (Tiruchi Tigers). Star Hero's Touching Advice wins hearts

Usually, Star Heroes keep thanking their fans at film events for unconditional support. Rarely does Celebs offer valuable advice to their fans and make sure they walk in a good path. But, Dhanush proved that he is unlike other Stars at a recent event and won many hearts with a piece of advice. At the audio launch of his upcoming flick 'Thodari', Dhanush appealed his fans to take good care of their families to make him proud. 'I wish to say one thing here. You (fans) are proud of Me. In the same way, I should be proud of my fans. Take care of your family first and at the same time strive hard to reach greater heights. I would have been nothing without the support of my family. So, Always give utmost importance to your families,' he preached. 'Thodari' stars Dhanush and 'Nenu Sailaja' fame Keerthy Suresh in lead roles. Most of the film was shot on a train. Dhanush has even performed few risky stunts in this movie.
