More news →Nam Duniya Nam Style Releasing on 27th
The Regional Board for Film Certification today watched Preetham Gubbi's 'Nam Duniya Nam Style' and has given a 'U' certificate. With the Censor Certificate in hand, Preetham is all set to release the film on the 27th of June. Nam Duniya Nam Style' will be replacing Komal starrer 'Radhan Ganda' in Triveni next week. With 'NDNS' also announced for next week, the number of films scheduled for release next week has gone up to four. Earlier, Roopa Iyer's 'Chandra', 'Cycle' and 'Bidalaare Endu Ninna' was scheduled to release next week. While 'Chandra' is scheduled for Thursday the 27th, the rest two films were scheduled for a 28th release. Now 'Nam Duniya Nam Style' also joins the list.'NDNS' stars Likith Shetty, Krishna Nagappa, Vinayaka Joshi, Milana, Kavya Shetty, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila and others. Preetham himself has produced the film apart from directing it.
Sudeep Acts in Rangan Style
After a gap of nearly six months Sudeep made a guest appearance in Pradeep starrer 'Rangan Style' on Monday. Sudeep's role is a short one and the actor plays the role of a police officer in the film. A special police station set was erected at the Rockline Studios and scenes featuring Sudeep, Pradeep and others was shot.Pradeep says, though Sudeep's role is short, he plays a prominent role in the film. Boss: Style is the talk

New Light Productions, LTD is the new entrant in the Tamil film industry who produced Silanerangalil, whose audio was recently launched by Padmasri Kamal Haasan. It is formed by US based NRIs who have a professional touch and flair to make clean and entertaining commercial movies in Indian Vernacular languages. The team of New Light Production who has already assisted in some Hollywood films is well versed in story creation, screenwriting, cinematography and production. With this background, for their first venture in Tamil titled Silanerangalil, they have created story in US itself and selected 5-time national award director Jayaraj after interviewing other potential directors. Subsequently the New Light Production team sat with the director and scriptwriter and developed the complete script followed by a detailed storyboard true in style of Hollywood way of well planned film making. The New Light Production team started the production of Silanerangalil after selecting other key technicians and produced the movie successfully by shooting in beautiful locations of Munnar and Bangkok. The foot tapping music scored by Srikanth Deva is already a hit in FM and audio stores. New Light production have ambitious plans to produce 2 more Tamil movies after the release of Silanerangalil for which story is already finalized. Also they are in discussion with other production houses in forming strategic partnership in making commercially viable fine entertaining movies. With the advent of Pyramid Saimira, UTV, BIG Movies there is lot of future of this corporate style New Light production House to make more commercial movies.
Bollywood style of Movie making moving Far Away From Indian Culture
Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan says there was a time when Indian filmmakers used to create art, but now films are more about numbers and business. Jaya Bachchan compared the content of Indian films made in the 1950s and 1960s to the ones created now while praising Bimal Roy at a session on the legendary director at the Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival with Star on Tuesday. "Filmmakers at that time created art. Today, it's a business and all about numbers. Everything is thrown at our face. People have forgotten subtlety. Open display of affection is considered smart... sharam naam ki toh cheese hee nahi hai (people are no longer ashamed). Now, it's about big collections at the box office, Rs 100 crore films, first-weekend collection...It's all Greek to me," said the 68-year-old actress, known for films like "Guddi", "Abhimaan" and "Silsila". She even asked how many characters in cinema represented our country? She believes that most characters of Indian films seem to be inspired by the West. "I don't know why. Maybe, they are richer countries and are considered more progressive. But I think the Indian mind is very progressive," she said. Jaya Bachchan, whose belongs to the illustrious family of Bollywood, says there are a few films though that present the Indian culture. "People like 'Aligarh' and 'Masaan' because they show the real India and real problems of India," said the wife of megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Emphasizing on the fact that cinema is a visual medium, she said that one can show emotions or say what they want to in a subtle way, without being loud. "I get stressed out when I see this kind of cinema. I need to run away to some quiet place," said the actress, who has also acted in films like "Drona" and "Fiza". Bimal Roy's son Joy Roy, who was also part of the session at the film festival, said that now there is no difference between a vamp and a heroine. "Earlier, there used to be a vamp and a heroine. But now, there is no need for a vamp because the heroine does exactly what a vamp does. She wears itsy bitsy clothes and dances, does item songs," he said. "Regional cinema stays true to India. It's Bollywood that is married to money. Bollywood is mostly made by Mumbai-centric people influenced by the West, even their thought process is western. They look at western cinema. That's why there are so many rip-offs (of western movies)," he added. Another panelist, a popular screenwriter, and editor Apurva Asrani said that the audience also needs to take the responsibility. He said that Chaitanya Tamhane's critically acclaimed Marathi film "Court", which was selected as India's official entry to the Oscars, didn't have many viewers when it was screened at a festival. "Recently, 'Court' was playing at a festival and very few people turned up. We, as an audience, need to take the responsibility ourselves instead of pointing at Bollywood. The industry... it is also a trade. They are catering to you," he said.
New style for NTR
Young Tiger NTR seems to have decided to change his look with every new film. He has been following that consciously since ‘Temper’ and the results are showing. Now for his next couple of films, NTR is reportedly going to follow the same strategy. According to sources, the actor is already working with his styling team to explore new styling options. Once the star actor’s upcoming projects are finalised, he will work with the styling team to finalise the styling, so that it stays in tune with the story. NTR is currently enjoying a break and simultaneously finalising the scripts for his 2017 lineup.
