Filmmaker Sundar C is back to acting with his comedy drama Muthina Kathirikka. The film, which graced theatres on Friday, has opened to great response from audience. The perfectly timed comedy scenes are the key highlights of the film. A remake of Malayalam blockbuster Velimoonga, this comedy drama narrates the story of a middle-aged politician, who falls in love with a younger woman. Directed by Venkat Raghavan and produced by Sundar C and Kushboo under their banner Avni Cinemax, Sri Thenandal Films is distributing the film on a grand scale. The film also features Kiran Rathod, Vaibhav, VTV Ganesh and Singampuli appear in the supporting role.
Sundar C pulls it off!
All credit to director Sundar C for coming up with a decent job in his debut venture as hero in Thalainagaram. Directed by his associate Suraaj, Thalainagaram featured Sundar C in the lead role for the first time. Thankfully, he played his part well and has managed to leave an impression. Currently busy on a summer vacation with his family to Malaysia, Sundar C has his mobile ringing non-stop with congratulatory messages. What next? Will Sundar wield the megaphone again or would he capitalize on his new avatar as actor. Sources close to Sundar C said that he has been getting lots of offers to play the hero. It is for him to decide. At the same time, works have already begun to direct a movie next which may be produced by Kushboo Sundar featuring Madhavan in the lead role.
Sundar C gets to acting mode again
Sundar C is giving final touches to his directorial venture Rendu starring Madhavan and Reema Sen. The movie is slated for release this November. Close on the heels of completing Rendu, Sundar C will venture to act in a movie to be produced by Oscar Ravichandran. Gopika will play the heroine opposite him. Director Ilankannan, who wielded the megaphone for Arjun - Simran starrer Ottran will direct the movie. Buzz is that the movie has been titled Yazhpanam and would feature Sundar C in the role of a rugged police cop. Sundar C made his debut as actor with Thalainagaram and the movie went to become a hit. However, the actor-director chose to direct a movie before accepting to act in a new movie.
Sundar C back to acting
Following a successful outing in his directorial venture Rendu, Sundar C is back to acting now. The director, who is known for his hilarious entertainers, tried his luck in acting in Thalainagaram. The movie went on to become a hit. Now the director-actor is slated to act in a remake of a popular Malayalam movie. The blockbuster Malayalam movie Spatikam in which Mohanlal plays the role of a truck driver will be remade in Tamil with Sundar C playing the lead role. He dons the role of gangster in the movie. Urvashi played Mohanlal's heroine in the original version. The Tamil version is directed by Sundar C's assistant Badhri. Gopika enacts the role played by Urvashi. Sundar C is also committed to do a couple of films. Only after completing the three, he would venture to direct again.
Sundar C is a cab driver now
Sundar C and cinematographer-director Vincent Selvah are coming together for a movie titled Perumal. The movie would be a hilarious entertainer with Sundar C playing a cab driver and Manivannan playing the owner of the travel agency. Vincent Selvah is busy giving final touches to his Madurai Veeran which features Jithan Ramesh in the lead. Selvah says that once Madurai Veeran is over, Perumal would be commenced. He says, 'I am now concentrating on shaping up Madurai Veeran and Perumal and I want to ensure their successes at box-office.' Meanwhile, Sundar C is shooting for Veeraappu, which is inspired by the Malayalam film Spatikam. This film is woven around the relationship between a father and son.
Sundar C's kitty is overflowing
Director ' turned actor Sundar C is a busy man these days. He is one of the sought-after heroes working in over three films now. Acclaimed director, whose penchant for humor is widely known in his movies, took to playing the hero in Thalainagaram. The movie's success brought him several offers. Currently he is shooting for a movie titled Spatikam opposite Gopika. The movie is a remake of Malayalam hit Spatikam. He is all set to act in Vincent Selvah's film titled Perumal. Also Sundar C will be part of a movie titled Thee. The movie would feature Sundar C in the role of a tough cop. Acting opposite him is Ragini, a debutant. A Miss Tamil Nadu beauty pageant Ragini is a native of Chennai.
