If reports are to go by, Arvind Swami will play the lead in director Vinoth’s Sathuranga Vettai 2. The first installment was a sleeper with its tight screenplay and interesting storyline. It is reported that the team approached the Thani Oruvan actor, who immediately gave his nod. There are also reports that Arvind Swami will make his Hollywood debut soon.
Arvind Swami and Tamannaah pairup Sathuranga Vettai 2?
Sathuranga Vettai was produced by Mano Bala and directed by Vinothkumar. There is also a buzz that Arvind Swami and Tamannaah are the strong contenders for this sequel. We were the first ones to tell you some time back that the hot and handsome Arvind Swami has been approached for Sathuranga Vettai sequel. Sources suggest that the Thani Oruvan baddie and Thozha heroine have been approached but yet to sign on the dotted line. If this combo gets firmed up, it will be the first time the duo will be sharing screen space. Official confirmations are awaited and we would keep you posted!
Arvind Swami and Nayanthara to act in Tamil remake of Bhaskar the Rascal
Bhaskar the Rascal, the Malayalam family comedy-drama, directed by Siddique, starring Mammootty and Nayanthara in the lead roles was a successful outing for the entire team. It was earlier rumored that Superstar Rajinikanth would be acting in the Tamil remake of this film, but now reports suggest that Arvind Swami and Nayanthara might play the leads. Siddique is expected to direct the Tamil version too. It has to be noted that he has given successful films in Tamil such as Friends, Engal Anna, and Kaavalan. Arvind Swami, who is awaiting the release of Bogan, also has Sathuranga Vettai 2 with Trisha and a film with Manju Warrier under Ramana's direction in his kitty.
Raghavendra Rao plans 'Swami Vivekananda'
Director Raghavendra Rao is known for projecting the heroines in a most beautiful and romantic way. With the age getting advanced, he almost turned philosophical and started throwing his weight towards mythological and devotional films, like Annamayya, Sri Manjunatha, Sri Ramadasu. This year, he is going to direct Yuva Ratna Balakrishna in his home production for 'Rangaa' Pandurangaa' in which the hero is playing a dual role. The script work of the film was almost complete and the music sittings with Keeravani would begin very soon. The film would go to sets in August. Even as the project is yet to begin, the director planned another film on Swamy Vivekananda, who as Narendra, enlightened the entire world about the greatness of India culture, tradition and heritage besides the human values. JK Bharavi was asked to prepare the storyline and the script was also prepared.
Venkatesh as Swami Vivekananda?
It is a well-known fact that Venkatesh has always been interested in doing a film based either on mythology or a historical character. For a long time now, it has been rumoured that he will be doing a film on Swamy Vivekananda. But the latest from the film grapevine is that K Raghavendra Rao would be directing this film once Panduranga starring Balakrishna will be completed. Though the talks have been on for a very long time, this time the film is likely to roll, say the insiders.
I just offered seva to Swami
Tamil actress Ranjitha justifies her acts in an interview with a Tamil website. Says her service was motivated by devotion to the godman Tamil actress Ranjitha, who went into hiding after being caught on camera while indulging in sexual acts with Swami Nityananda, finally come to fore yesterday. Clearing her stand, she justified her acts by saying that she was just giving her 'offerings' to the godman. 'True devotee' In an interview to a Tamil website, Ranjitha said that she has known Nityananda for quite some time and is grateful to him for curing her wheezing trouble in just a day. The actress said, "The media has unnecessarily blown the issue out of proportion. I know swamiji for the past few years and my association with him is quite transparent. As a true devotee, I offered my services like feeding and massaging him regularly in his room. I used to stay with him till late and the ashram inmates knew about it." Ranjitha, however, was very careful with her words and not once did she talk about the 'sex issue'. She carefully evaded the topic and neither accepted nor denied her sexual acts in the video. Instead, she strongly denied the allegation that she is trying to cash on the sex video shot by Nityananda's onetime associate Lenin Karuppan. She said, "I know my Swamiji. He is a great atma and will come out as a pure atma soon." Happily married Ranjitha also denied a rift with her husband. "These are mere speculations," she said. Swami Nityananda in the meantime is expected to explain his stand on March 18. In a press conference on Monday, his press coordinator Nithya Sachithananda said, "The godman's personal security was at risk. He has been advised to come out only after a few days." Pointing out that his organisation was consulting legal experts, Sachithananda questioned the technological knowledge of Nityananda's close aide Lenin Karuppan, alias Dharmananda, who is believed to have secretly filmed Nityananda's sexcapades in a room within the ashram premises.
