Elsewhere in the industry, a high-profile release is on the cards. We are talking about the audio of Oka V Chitram. Produced by Siri Media Pvt Ltd and directed by Teja, Oka V Chitram has already captured the State's imagination with its interesting promos on the TV. It is slick and has kindled the imagination of the public. The audio of the film is set for at the Durgam Cheruvu. Murali has scored the music. Teja, who is making the film under the blessings and auspices of Dasari, has introduced new names in the movie. Teja needs a big hit and he is hoping that newcomers will provide him that. Like they did in Chitram and Jayam.
Teja's movie put off
Trust Teja to keep everyone guessing. Teja's new movie Oka V Chitram, was supposed to make it to the theaters yesterday. It would have been appropriate as yesterday was Dasari Narayana Rao's birthday, and he is the presenter of the movie. Now the movie has been put off to May 19. The movie ran into some last minute hitches over technical issues. We decided to put off the release so that we could get the movie out in. On his 60th birthday, the film's unit felicitated him. Oka V Chitram has Pradeep ( Ravi Raja Pinishetty's son), Vamsy, Madhu Shalini and Deepa (Poonam Kaur) playing the main leads.
Teja to turn producer soon
Cinematographer Teja turned a director with 'Chitram' produced on the prestigious banner of Ushakiron Movies and bagged a sensational hit right from his debut film. The total budget of the film was just Rs 47 lakhs. That film had become a role model for several low-budget films. His films like 'Nuvvu-Nenu, Jayam, Avunanna Kadanna, Nijam and Lakshmi Kalyanam' were also proved hits. Now this director is planning to enter into film production and had asked Krishnavamsi to direct the film. The script work of the movie is in brisk progress. The film is likely to go to sets in the last week of June or in the first week of July.
Teja launches talent hunt
Teja is known for introducing new faces in the industry. He had introduced Nitin, Sada, Uday Kiran among others in films like Chitram and Jayam. A host of supporting artistes too have been given a break by him and are doing well today. Though his last film Lakshmi Kalyanam didn't do too well at the box-office, Teja is as enthusiastic as ever and has just announced the launch of Kingfisher Superstar Contest to scout for new faces. In a function that was organized on Saturday at the Golconda Hotel, it was announced that two male actors and one female actor would be selected, who will get a break in Teja's next film. The contest will be held at Hyderabad, Vizag, Vijayawada and Warangal. Those interested should apply to the Kingfisher Superstar Contest, MAA Television, Hyderabad. Details of age, name, contact address and a couple of photographs should be sent in to the above mentioned television channel. The contest is also being supported by Suresh Productions and Colours Entertainment.
Teja to work wonders on M S Raju's son Sumanth
He has the looks. Plus, he looks cute and fresh. There were full-length posters of his, more like teasers for all the action that is likely to follow. He looked cool with his goggles and hoodie, flashing guns in one poster; while one had him in a pop star look with a funky skull cap. Whatever the look, his father did manage to make his son look sophisticated. But now is the testing time testing time for the numero uno producer of the Telugu industry M S Raju, as his son makes his debut with a film being directed by Teja under the Sumanth Arts Banner. The film was officially launched at MS Raju's office at Jubilee Hills today morning. Naturally, the enthusiastic scribes were there in full attendance to see Sumanth Ashwin and gauge his future. There is a lot of speculation about the movie as Teja is considered to be the ideal director in Telugu industry, who can work wonders for a newcomer's debut. Already, he is known for his disciplinarian ways and insistence on having a tight script before shooting. Already, those from the industry feel MS Raju has chosen just the right director for his son.
Teja happy with the talent hunt finds
Director Teja had announced a talent hunt along with a corporate company and a Telugu television channel. The advertisements were all over the place, though the contest is now closed. After screening out the participants, Teja is really happy about four, who is says have it in them to make it big. The talent hunt, announced for a particular film, has got enormous response and the organizers are now keen to hold it every year. One of the reasons why Teja is really happy is because they have been able to find Telugu girls who have the caliber and the looks to play the leading girls. Given the dearth of heroines in the industry, the hunt is now seen as a means to discover unknown talent.
