Seems like Rajneesh Duggal, Adha Sharma and Vikram Bhatt are mighty excited (and confident) about their horror flick 1920. The trio is going all out to promote the film 24X7. Very recently, they were made a round up North to address a series of press conference. Produced by ASA Productions and Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. and directed by VIkram Bhatt, 1920 is carrying reports and is expected to be full-on horror affair. Adah Sharma and Rajneesh Duggal along with Anjori Alagh were there in Delhi recently to address a press meet. 1920 is scheduled to release all over on September 12, 2008.
"If the trailer scared the audiences so much, imagine what the film will do!!" Mohit Suri
To chill your spines, Director Mohit Suri is ready to strike with his horrendous flick, Raaz - the Mystery Continues (RTMC) produced by Vishesh Films. The trailer that was screened before couple of weeks along Fashion and Golmaal Returns had enthralled audiences. More frantic, High-spirited Mohit Suri speaks, "Obviously all of us were anxious to about the first look of RTMC. However, when we saw it for the first time ourselves in the preview theatre, we knew we had cracked it!!" Presented by Vishesh Films & SONY BMG, RTMC is slated to hit screens on 23rd January 2009. Hot sensational pair Emraan Hashmi-Kangana Ranaut team up alongside debutant Adhyayan Suman. On making of the trailer, Mohit says. "All of us had an idea of what the trailer would do, and to achieve it the look and feel of the trailer that was discussed and worked over a lot'I think this is the longest time to crack the first trailer in the history of Vishesh which is close to 40 films old!!" Raaz -The Mystery Continues was always one of the most awaited films of the year. Add to that the brand "Raaz" which still stands strong as the only Musical Supernatural Blockbuster of the decade. The first trailer has increased the expectations even further. "Both Mr. Mahesh Bhatt & Mukesh Bhatt were exhilarated by the trailer, and were confident it would do wonders, but the response has been over-whelming and surpassed all our expectations. Ours and SONY BMG phones haven't stopped ringing once people saw the trailer. The film trade guys and the distributors have been calling us non-stop!" When questioned on his apparent fight with Mahesh Bhatt on how the trailer, he smiles and says, "It wasn't a fight, though there was a lot of heat'being creative people we do have very strong point of views on how it should be'Bhattsaab wanted a trailer with dialogues whereas I thought we should just focus on strong visuals and musical score'" The weight of the legacy can be judged by the fact that it took Mohit 6 months just to convince Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt to let him make RTMC. "Its quite obvious, something which I was expecting'looking at the success of Raaz not only as a film but in every aspect'can you believe people still remember the music 6 years after it was released!!" Mohit who is neck deep now days in the post production of RTMC ends by saying, "The response to the trailer made me really happy for a moment, and now the realization of people's giant expectations from the movie has just set in'so here I am, making sure the film scares them as much as the trailer did!"
Vishnuvardhan's Next: Thala Ajith To Play Raja Raja Chola In The Film Set In 9th Century?
It was recently reported that director Vishnuvardhan is busy visiting many temples, constructed by the Kings who ruled the state of Tamil Nadu years ago, as a part of his research in order to helm his next, which is said to be a historical flick. The Billa director has joined hands with famed novelist and screenwriter Balakumaran, and the duo is currently in exploration mode as the film will have its backdrop set in the 9th century. Now, according to the latest speculation that has surfaced, the film will showcase the construction of the famous Brihadeeswarar temple, which is now a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple, located in the city of Thanjavur, was built by Raja Raja Chola I and hence the film's lead actor would quite naturally emulate the great King, it is said. But here is the most interesting part of the whole hypothesis; Thala Ajith might be approached to play the role of Raja Raja Chola. Given Vishnuvardhan's rapport with the Yennai Arindhaal star, the report that's been doing the rounds might be more than mere speculation. Stay tuned for further updates regarding this exciting development.
Udta Punjab makers file complaint against piracy after the film leaks online
From censorship controversy to Alia Bhatt's portrayal of a Bihari, Udta Punjab faced several tribulations and scandals in the past few weeks. While the release date in itself was under threat with the makers fighting the censorship battle, now that the film has received certification, the process of release of Udta Punjab still hasn't become any smoother. In fact, it became even more complicated after copies of the film were leaked online. The makers are now all set to take legal action against the same. After a couple of press conferences, social media outbursts and a long battle against the CBFC, Udta Punjab finally moved the High Court over its certification. The Bombay High Court not only condemned the cuts suggested by CBFC but also passed the film with minor changes and a single cut. Content with the same, the makers heaved a sigh of relief and with their certification in place they were gearing up to release the film on schedule. Just two days before the same, several copies of the film have gone viral online. In fact, from what we hear, there are two versions of Udta Punjab, the uncensored one and the one which has all the recommended censor changes online that is available for download. It is being said that the makers have now approached the cyber-crime cell for this sabotage to pull down these online copies. Police has registered an FIR under the sections of Information Technology and Copyright Act and it has been learnt that these officials have been given three links, one of which is also a torrent size, from where netizens have been exploiting the copies of Udta Punjab. On the other hand, as the actors of the film are requesting their fans to say no to piracy, coming out in support are also several other celebrities from the fraternity so that they can encourage fans to watch Udta Punjab in theatres.
