More news →'The Killer' promises a new sound
When Vishesh Films and Emraan Hashmi combine, great music obviously follows! From 'Footpath', 'Murder', 'Tumse Nahi Dekha' to 'Zeher', 'Kalyug' and most recently 'Gangster', each of the films has always boasted of popular music. Now the production house and Emraan Hashmi are coming together yet again with 'The Killer' that stars Irrfan Khan in the lead role along with Nisha Kothari who plays Hashmi's love interest. While no one doubts yet another exciting music on the way, the film's publicity still chooses to explicitly call it out. Promising an arrival of new sound in the form of some outstanding melodies, the music of 'The Killer' comprises of 5 numbers that are soon coming your way!
'The Killer' opens to good reviews all over
Bhatts seem to be on a winning spree! While their last 'Gangster' was the classiest ever coming from their production house, their on-the-road-hardocre-masala-flick 'The Killer' too seems to have found a flavor amongst the critics at the least. Though audience reaction would be known once the weekend is through, the critics seem to have given a thumbs-up to this Raksha Mistry-Hasnain Hyderabadwala debut flick inspite of 'The Collateral' inspiration. The director duo has ensured that the basic plot is sprinkled with Indian 'masala' and presented as potpourri that would work amongst the masses. Except for one or two publications/sites which are habitual of snubbing every Bollywood movie week after week, regardless of its credentials or actual box office fate, practically every other website, publication and independent critic has agreed that the film needs to be looked as a time pass entertainer, in which aspect it comfortably succeeds. The most notable point about the film is said to be the Irrfan-Emraan chemistry that seems to have worked in a big way. For once a film-maker's claim [in this case the Irrfan-Emraan tussle being akin to Tom & Jerry] appears to have been for real!
Sajid-Wajid look to strike with 'THE KILLER'
For composers Sajid-Wajid, 'THE KILLER' could well turn out to be the most crucial soundtrack ever in their career. With their biggest hit being 'YAAD' that had songs by Sonu Nigam, they have been on the Bollywood scene for around a decade now. Still the composer duo is waiting to be firmly established amongst the wish-list of top notch film makers inspite of some popular numbers from 'Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya', 'Hello Brother', 'Chori Chori', 'Tere Naam' and most recently 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' and 'Jawani Diwani'. Even the debut album of Rahul Vaidya, 'Tera Intezar', has been composed by them but it unfortunately didn't get its due to it being under promoted. Not to loose heart, now they are ready with the score for Vishesh Films' 'The Killer' where they promise the arrival of new sounds. Knowing Bhatts penchant for quality music, one thing is for sure that there won't be any complains as far as the album's publicity is concerned. Now it all depends upon the actual merits of the album that should get the composer duo in the reckoning all over again!
Nisha sheds her LOLITA look with 'THE KILLER'
Nisha Kothari, who has primarily been noticed for her LOLITA looks since the time she was seen in the music video of 'Chadti Jawani' a couple of years back would be seen in a new look in THE KILLER. From the time her music video [where she was accompanied by Nigar Khan] came on air to 'James', 'Sarkar' and most recently the item numbers in 'DARNA ZAROORI HAI', Nisha Kothari has been seen as a teen fantasy with her childlike innocence combined with an intense sex appeal. But all this is touted to change as she turns sensual from sexy with her new avtar in THE KILLER where she is presented more as a woman than just a teenage girl. And credit for this new look should go to the co-directors of the film RAKSHA MISTRY and HASNAIN HYDERABADWAALA who have managed to bring around this metamorphosis. Watch out for a saree clad Nisha in THE KILLER and you would know what we mean!
Excerpt from Ramu's The ideas that killed 30 million people?
20 years back Ram Gopal Varma had written an article - 'The ideas that killed 30 million people'. Her, he quotes a few passages from it. The start of the article: Although the Ideas that nourished the intellectual roots of Adolf Hitler can be traced back to many a megalomaniacal thought that poured out from a few German minds of the 19th Century not other man's thoughts have contributed so much to the barbaric part of the Nazi mind as those of the philosopher Fredrich Nietzsche. The essence of the article: I quoted from Nietzsche's 'The natural history of morals'. 'The strong men, the masters regain the pure conscience of a beast. They return from a fearful succession of arson, rape, torture and murder with the same joy in their hearts and the same contentment in their souls as if they have indulged in a harmless students rag. When a man is a master by nature and violent by gesture, of what importance are treaties to him?' My writing in the article under the above quote: These words uttered by the most terrible man that has even existed on the face of the earth as Nietzsche described himself in his autobiography 'ecce homo' had a profound impact on the shaping up of the mind of Hitler and host of lesser Nazis and in time they would justify such ruthless deeds as the breaching of the Versailles treaty, the violation of the Hague Convention, the killing of his own followers in the blood purge of June 1934 and the senseless massacre of millions in the IInd World War and the brutal torture of Jews in Auschwitz and other such concentration camps'. The end of the article: All things said and done no one can blame Hitler for surprising the world with his doings because he bared each and every intention of his, years before he was given the power to do them. Any reader of his autobiography 'Mein Kampf' will have no doubts about that.
