Last week we had reported that ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan’s upcoming film ‘Thoongavanam’ will have only one song which will be used for promotional purpose. Now it has been officially confirmed that the only song composed by Ghibran for the film will be the title song. Kamal has crooned the song in Tamil with the lyrics written by Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu. The song has been recorded with Kamal’s voice in Tamil. Sources say that the legendary actor may lend his voice for the Telugu version of the song also but there is no official information regarding this. Ghibran has said that this song will be a metallic fast beet number unlike the ones sung by Kamal in ‘Uttama Villain’ and ‘Papanasam’. The shooting of the film directed by Rajesh M.Selva was wrapped up recently and the post production work is going on. Ghibran is busy with the re-recording for this thriller flick.

'Thoongaavanam' director to again team with Kamal Haasan
Rajesh M. Selva will direct actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan for the second time in a row in a yet-untitled out-and-out Tamil comedy film, which will have story and screenplay by veteran writer-director Moulee. Kamal and Rajesh finished shooting for Tamil thriller "Thoongaavanam" just a few weeks ago. "This will be their second project. Moulee met Haasan last month and discussed about collaborating. After much contemplation, Kamal felt Rajesh could direct the script, penned by Moulee. It will be a full-length comedy film," a source told. The source added that the project may be produced by filmmaker N. Linguswamy, who had also produced Kamal's "Uttama Villain". "To compensate the losses incurred by 'Uttama Villain', Kamal promised to do another film for Linguswamy. If everything goes as planned, this could be that project," the source said. The rest of the cast will be finalised post the release of "Thoongaavanam".
Directing 'Thoongaavanam' dream come true: Rajesh Selva
Debutant Rajesh M. Selva says it was a dream come true moment to direct actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan in upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual "Thoongaavanam", which is slated to hit the screens during Diwali. "I think the best day of my life so far has been when Kamal sir asked me to direct this film. There's nothing before and after that moment and I don't think anything can replace it. It was like my long time dream had come true," Rajesh told. Having worked as an associate with Haasan for over five years, Rajesh didn't find working on the film challenging. "What was really challenging was the responsibility of directing Kamal sir. Making the film was absolutely easy," said Rajesh, who will soon collaborate with the legendary actor again. Kamal has already started working on his next Tamil outing, which will be an out-and-out comedy with story by veteran writer-director Moulee. "I'll definitely be associated with his next project. I'm not sure of my role yet, but work has already started," he said. Rajesh will reportedly direct Haasan for the second time in a row.
Kamal Haasan's Thoongaavanam first look on May 25
The makers of Kamal Haasan-starrer Tamil-Telugu bilingual "Thoongaavanam" are planning to unveil the first look of the movie on May 25. "The photo shoot for the first look happened in Chennai yesterday. The team has planned to release it on May 25, a day after the film goes on floors in Hyderabad," a source from the film's unit told on Thursday. The film, which features Trisha Krishnan and Prakash Raj in the lead, will be helmed by Kamal's long-time associate Rajesh M. Selva. Said to be a fast-paced thriller, "Thoongaavanam" will feature Haasan in the role of a policeman. The entire story will unfold in a single night. Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala is said to have been approached to play Kamal's wife in the movie.
Kamal Haasan's 'Thoongaavanam' to be wrapped up in July
The shooting of actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan starrer Tamil-Telugu thriller "Thoongaavanam", which is an official remake of French film "Sleepless Night", is likely to be wrapped up over the course of the next month. "The team is currently shooting in a specially erected set on East Coast Road in Chennai. More than half of the shooting is already done and at this rate, the film should be wrapped up by next month," a source from the film's unit told. A racy thriller, the film is said to unfold in a single night in a bar. It also features Prakash Raj, Madhu Shalini, Sampath Raj, Kishore and Asha Sarath in important roles. Haasan plays a policeman, while Prakash Raj will be seen as his partner. Being directed by Kamal's long-time associate Rajesh M Selva, the film is simultaneously being made in Telugu as "Cheekati Rajyam".
