The shooting for Jeevan's long-pending movie 'Thotta' commenced recently. Directed by Selvah, the movie stars Jeevan and Priyamani in the lead roles. Selvah says, 'We had initially shot 15 days for the movie. After a brief delay, we have resumed the shooting. It is the story of an innocent youth, who ends up as a gangster. Jeevan is a talented actor and Priyamani surprised everyone with a stunning performance in 'Paruthiveeran'. The two come together for 'Thotta'. Selvah adds,'The movie would be completed in one go and would be released for Deepavali'.
Thotta Tharani writes a book
Thotta Tharani, who has got many awards for his outstanding works in art direction, is now writing a book to tell his vast and colourful experience to the world. The most sought after art director of south India, is also planning to publish the images of his sets created by him for various movies. A couple of sets created for the forthcoming 'Kathaswamy' too will figure in the book.
Thottal Poo Malarum - A flower waits to bloom
It is never easy to be the son of a famous father. For, the expectations are always bound to be high. It is just that Shakthi understands this reality. The son of top director P Vasu, Shakthi has his task cut out as he gets down to begin his career as an actor. A new film that has him in the lead, Thottal Poo Malarum, will have its muhurat on July 3. To be produced by Gemini Film Circuit, Thottal Poo Malarum will not unsurprisingly, be directed by Vasu himself. Shakthi comes to the industry not as his father's son, but in his own right. This MBA qualified handsome man has formally learnt the formal aspects of acting. He has undergone specialized training in dance, fights and other skills that are very intrinsic to acting in these parts. A fan of artistes like Al Pacino and Aamir Khan, Kamal and Rajni, Shakthi is also a skilled mimicry artiste. Shakthi, of course, had the best training possible --- as a child artiste in many Vasu's movies. We saw him as a cherubic youngster in films like Chinna Thambi, Nadigan, Rickshaw Mama, Senthamizh Paatu and Idhu Namma Boomi. Of course, Shakthi has also had the opportunity to see from close quarters top artistes who had worked with his father. Thottal Poo Malarum, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, will be a romantic entertainer, and will be the right opening for this youngster. Thottas art wows singer
Vadivelu's Indiralohathil Na Azhagappan is being shot in a brisk pace. Recently a song sequence featuring Vadivelu and three heroines was shot in a grand set erected Indiraloham at Prasad Studios. Vadivelu appeared as Indiran in the song sequence while Suja as Rambha, Theetha Sharma as Urvashi and Rari as Menaka. Noted playback singer Sadhana Sargam had sung the song penned by Pulamai Pithan. Producer Manickam Narayanan had taken Sadhana Sargam for the grand set before the song recording. Sadhana was thrilled to see such a mega set erected for the song. She expressed her awe and admiration and heaped laurels on art director Thotta Tharani.
Thottal Poo Malarum releases tomorrow
P Vasu's son Sakthi starrer Thottal Poo Malarum will release tomorrow. Starring Mumbai import Gauri Munjal opposite him, the movie is directed by Shakthi's father P Vasu. With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja already proving to be a hit, expectations are high on the movie. A thrilled father, Vasu says,' I did not write the script keeping my son in mind. Only when the idea crossed my mind that Shakti could fit in the groove, I gave a serious thought to it and settled for him. In the sets, Shakti was like any other actor. Yuvan Shankar Raja's musical score is a big plus'. Gauri Munjal says, 'My character got the importance in the storyline generated. In a sublime love story, I could get to feel the substance and flavor of the end product'. Sapphire Media and Infrastructure produce the film.
Dhanush Yennai Nokki Paayum Thotta begins shoot
Dhanush announced his collaboration with renowned filmmaker Gautam Vasudev Menon for a film titled 'Yennai Nokki Paayum Thotta'. Now, in an exciting development, their movie has finally gone on floors. Confirming the same, Dhanush recently took to Twitted as " Another film. Another role. Another new journey. #YenaiNokkiPaayumThotaa shoot starts 4m today with all ur blessings". Yennai Nokki Paayum Thotta to be wrapped up in 2 months as Dhanush is said to join his debutante Hollywood film. Dhanush will be seen as a gangster and Megha Akash as his love interest.
