Double Celebration Time for Akshaye Khanna

It was a celebration time for the Khanna's household two days earlier as the ever charismatic Vinod Khanna celebrated his 60 birthdays with both Akshaye & Rahul Khanna throwing a surprise party. They had a rocking time together in the Khanna household. For Akshaye Khanna, its proving to be a double celebration as he has the most promising film slated to be released in 2007 Starting with uber cool Nikhil Advani's 'Salaam-E-Ishq', followed by a critically appreciative performance in Anil Kapoor's 'Gandhi My Father'. It will be followed by Abbas Mastan's 'Humraaz' team together again with Bobby Doel and another Abbas Mastan film with Anil Kapoor & Saif Ali Khan. Definetely a double celebration time for Akshaye.

It's time for Dhoni's heart to be stolen

It had to happen sooner or later. And this time around Mahendra Singh Dhoni is saying it with a song. All you girls, don't be alarmed since Dhoni is doing this strictly for the camera - that is to woo a girl and appear in a song. The number in question? 'Dil Ko Churaya Re,' the video of which would be out on your television screens soon. While the dashing keeper/batsman hammers it away in South Afirca, his fans would have their hands full with him on both the sports as well as music channels. He acts and even shakes a leg or two in the video of 'Dil Ko Churaya Re' which is sung by debutant singer Rani. The album has eight songs and has music by Lal Sinha and lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed, who has written for quite a few Bollywood numbers over the years.

US Sikh body gets more time for plea against Sonia Gandhi

A US federal Court has given Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) time till Dec 3 to file an amended complaint against Congress President Sonia Gandhi in an alleged human rights violation case. Despite opposition from Gandhi's attorneys, the federal court here Monday granted the Sikh rights body's request for more time to amend its complaint about her role in protecting and shielding Congress party leaders who allegedly participated in the November 1984 anti-Sikh violence. SFJ and violence victims are seeking compensatory and punitive damages against Gandhi for allegedly shielding and protecting Kamal Nath, Sajjan Kumar, Jagdish Tytler and other Congress party leaders. While SFJ claims that the court summons were served on Sonia Gandhi through hospital and security staff at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York on Sep 9, Gandhi's attorneys are challenging the service of summons.

Time for enquiry

Following a complaint lodged by Arya with Nadigar Sangam against director Saran, both Arya and Saran turned up at the Nadigar Sangam premises for a enquiry on Friday. It may be recalled that Arya, the up and coming hero in Kollywood, was assigned to play the lead role in the film Vataram to be produced and directed by Saran. Saran had reportedly paid Arya a huge sum as advance. However when all was set for the shooting to commence, an offer from Bala to Arya to act in his Naan Kadavul came as a stumbling block to Vattaram. Arya was keen on not missing out the opportunity, while Saran insisted that he do Vattaram first. This resulted in Saran lodging a complaint with Producers Council against Arya, while the latter approached the Nadigar Sangam. Nadigar Sangam held enquiries with both. The details of the meeting is awaited. But Arya needs to be careful in not getting carried away by his success so early.

Wedding time for Rakshita

The entire Kannada film industry is agog with the talk of marriage for Rakshita, the buxom heroine who also made a splash in Telugu movies not long ago. Karnataka is full of news that Rakshita is engaged to director Prem. Prem had directed the blockbuster Jogi in which Rakshita played the heroine. But Rakshita has denied that they are engaged. The actress, while confirming that she was seeing Prem, however, denied that the engagement is over. 'We both have a lot to achieve in the industry. We may get engaged by the end of this year. Till then it is only films'. Hopefully, the rumor mills will stop working overtime now.
