More news →Time To Take The “Media” Out Of Social Media
Today is Social Media Day, and no one can deny that social media platforms have made our life easier, faster, and generally better. They’ve not only helped make the world a smaller place by allowing us to connect with friends and relatives in distant lands whenever we feel like, but have also given the common man a place where their opinions are heard and matter. But where there are pros, there’s bound to be some cons, and when it comes to social media, there are more than a few of them. While we’re busy bridging the gap between friends and relatives in far-off locations, how many times do we forget to inquire on those living by our side? Though our virtual friend lists and followers are in the hundreds, how often do we make time to meet with those who’ve stood by us? And most importantly, how frequently we give up discovering the world around us during our spare time in favor of the familiar world on social media networks? Therefore, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to take a look at some of these Bollywood films, which while being classics in their own right, also perfectly display how to connect with the real world in times of excessive social media networking.

Biryani Time With Salman Khan
Salman Khan is always in news. It is apparent that he doesn't want to be hounded by the media, yet the flash bulbs continue to hog him. At the Big Bash of Shatrughan Sinha, the actor walked in with a stylish black T-shirt and was the life-of-the-party. But when the media personnel tried warming up to him, he said sternly, 'When you guys write negative things about me, why do you want to talk to me? You are doing very well at my expense anyways.' It was clear that his comfort level with film folks was high as he mingled with everyone from Subhash Ghai to David Dhawan to the host Shatru himself. So, is he on-jovial-terms with everyone in the industry? No! His cold-vibes with actor John Abraham is taking an ugly turn now. If the industry sources are to be believed then he is giving a tough time to the producers of 'Babul' and 'Salaam-e-Ishk' as he doesn't want to shoot with Abraham. It is being said that he is deliberately delaying the filming as he wants both their shots to be taken separately. Both the films are already behind schedule due to his un-announced bald phenomenon, then his subsequent arrest in Jodhpur and the 'Rockstars' concerts that went on for ever. The only people who earn his unconditional attention are his family. So, when father Salim Khan threw a football party to watch the Football World Cup Final, even though Sallu is not a footie-fan, he joined in the revelries and gorged on the sumptuous Mutton Biryani and never-ending starters. Girl friend Katrina Kaif played a perfect hostess for the evening. Salman loves the home-made food and this Khan-daan is famous for delicious culinary skills. Everyone had a great time that exciting night. So, you see, Salman Khan continues to make news whether he likes it or not. That's a price one has to pay for being one of the biggest superstars of all times.
This time around 'Zamaanat' release seems to be for sure
'Zamanaat' could take an award for being one of the most visible movies of all times in spite of not seeing a release for close to 7 years now. Ever since its filming neared completion, the promotion of this S. Ramanathan film has arrived for a few days and then vanished away silently. The trend has been on for about 5 years now. The notion is such that every time the promos come on air, one wonders if this time around the release is for sure or not. But not anymore. Come November 3rd and this film with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead is definitely arriving at the theatres. Promotion of the film has begun (yet again) and looking at the super success of Amitabh Bachchan over last few months (and years), Arshad Warsi being a part of one of the all time blockbusters [Lage Raho Munnabhai] and Karisma Kapoor's comeback eagerly awaited, one doesn't find any reason as to why 'Zamaanat' may again get postponed? Also starring Anupam Kher, Vijayashanti, Ayub Khan, Sharat Saxena, Shivaji Satam and Tinu Anand, 'Zamaanat' is a dramatic thriller and features Amitabh Bachchan in a central role that spans across 10 years.
Dasvidaniya Time to reflect yourselves
Savoring to the changing phase of Bollywood, Vinay Pathak brims up with a fantabulous script that'll let ourselves reflect on every frame. Dasvidaniya ' 'Good bye' you say in Russia has Shashant Shah wielding megaphone for the first time. Well, 'Good bye' the word that lets your eyes soaked with tears when your favorite ones utter it. The film focuses on an individual waxed with bitter situations all throughout life. He goes almost like a non-existent amongst zillions of busy-bodies. Spelling best out of him, actor Vinay Pathak not just dons the lead role, but you have him standing on the shoes of a producer for first time. Perhaps, the word 'speculation' might be disturbing him, but he looks elated churning out an interesting theme. It's about Amar (Vinay Pathak), an unidentified personality amidst high-populated city and indeed his neighbors. Caricaturing himself as a light-headed person, he has nothing to take big in his life. The bleak scenario prolongs until one day doctor has a shock that he will die in 3months of time. Here kick-starts an unexpected journey of Amar listing down 10 things to fulfill before his soul departs. Amidst of this excited course of time, Amar realizes he was actually dead before as he missed most valuable things in the past. Hitting screens, coming Friday, the film is expected to have great openings at multiplexes in metro cities.
Time for enquiry
Following a complaint lodged by Arya with Nadigar Sangam against director Saran, both Arya and Saran turned up at the Nadigar Sangam premises for a enquiry on Friday. It may be recalled that Arya, the up and coming hero in Kollywood, was assigned to play the lead role in the film Vataram to be produced and directed by Saran. Saran had reportedly paid Arya a huge sum as advance. However when all was set for the shooting to commence, an offer from Bala to Arya to act in his Naan Kadavul came as a stumbling block to Vattaram. Arya was keen on not missing out the opportunity, while Saran insisted that he do Vattaram first. This resulted in Saran lodging a complaint with Producers Council against Arya, while the latter approached the Nadigar Sangam. Nadigar Sangam held enquiries with both. The details of the meeting is awaited. But Arya needs to be careful in not getting carried away by his success so early.
