Role in 'Kshanam' total contrast to my TV avatar: Anasuya
Known mostly for her bubbly and glamorous avatars on television, actress Anasuya Bharadwaj hopes to impress audiences in the contrasting role of a gun-toting police officer in upcoming Telugu thriller "Kshanam". "My role in 'Kshanam' is so different from how I've been accepted on television all these years. Audiences who have gotten used to seeing me on television are definitely in for a surprise and I hope they like my new avatar," Anasuya told. It was the film's lead actor Adivi Sesh, who approached her with the role. "About a year and a half ago, Sesh came to me with the role. I wasn't keen back then as I was busy hosting Devi Sri Prasad's concert in the US. Sesh met me again after I returned to India and this time made me read the script. I really liked my character," she said. "Kshanam", directed by debutant Ravikanth Perepu and produced by PVP Cinema, also stars Adah Sharma, Vennela Kishore and Satyam Rajesh in important roles. Transforming into the police officer had its share of challenges, admits Anasuya, popular for hosting "Jabardasth". "Right from my body language to the way I speak, hold a gun or stare and even the minutest of the expression had to be changed. This is a character with very minimal make-up and I've never faced a camera without make-up, yet I had to do it for the sake of the character," she said, and added that she's happy with the way her character has turned out. How did she prepare for her role? "Although I watched a few cop films, it was only to feel the intensity of the character. I avoided watching many films because I'm good at imitating and I didn't want to merely ape someone else on screen. I wanted to be me when I was playing the character," she said. Unlike "Mardaani" and "Jai Gangaajal", she plays a police officer who has the elegance of a woman but at the same time is authoritative. She also doesn't don khaki in the entire film. Ever since the first look of her character was released, she's been getting plenty of offers to play a police officer. "Out of the offers I've got so far, I'm considering one project. It's too early to comment but the story will revolve around me and the film will be produced a popular production house. Apart from that, I may also do a comedy-thriller," she said.

Oopiri Total Loss 21 Crores?
King Nagarjuna's 'Oopiri' received huge appreciation from the critics for its message oriented content and decent performances by the artists. Moreover, the movie stood as a profitable venture in the US. However, the film couldn't live upto the expectations in Telugu states. The other day, it was reported that Potluri Vara Prasad, the producer of the film, had complained against director Vamshi Pydipalli who made Dril Raju and Aswini Dutt replacing Pvp as the producers of Prince Mahesh's new film. The producer also complained that he had incurred the losses of Rs.21 crores with 'Oopiir' due to high investments on the project. He seeks compensation for these losses from 'Oopiri' director Vamshi Pydipally.Pvp hasn't stopped here. He approached Madras High Court and got injunction orders against Vamshi and his writers Harikrishna and Solomon to get them refrain from using Pvp's script for Mahesh's film.
'Marmayogi' and Shriya TOTAL STRANGERS
It was reported a few days earlier that Shriya would play the heroine in Kamal Haasan's 'Marmayogi'. But then the news has turned out to be totally false. Shriya was in Chennai for a brief period and has categorically denied her association with 'Marmayogi'. 'I was quite surprised to see the media go hammer and tongs on me being a part of 'Marmayogi' because nobody had approached me to be a part of the film. If such an opportunity came, I'll most definitely be one of the happiest people in the world', says Shriya. The gorgeous actress has her hands full at the moment and is part of Vikram's 'Kanthasamy' and was in Mexico for the film's shooting. She is slated to start filming for 'Jaggubhai' soon where she plays Sarath Kumar's daughter. K. S. Ravikumar would direct that film. Shriya will be pairing with Dhanush once again as she will be joining the successful 'Polladhavan' team soon, for their next film. Director Vetri Maaran is currently coming up with a story that's expected to have a slick and compelling narration. The two Hollywood projects that Shriya has been part of have reportedly shaped up very well. 'The Other End of the Line' produced by Ashok Amritraj has the actress play a Call Center employee who falls in love with a customer just by listening to his voice. The other English movie she is working in is Deepa Mehta's 'What's Cooking' where she'll share screen space with Seema Biswas and Lisa Ray. Shriya is also part of a Hindi project titled 'Mission Istanbul' which is expected to release by the end of this month. If there is someone who can be termed ON DEMAND ' Shriya would be a perfect fit.
