Sweetest, cutest and kind are words that Bollywood celebrities have used to describe actress Genelia Deshmukh, who turned 28 on Wednesday. Celebrities like Farah Khan, Karan Johar, Abhishek Bachchan as well as Genelia's husband Riteish Deshmukh took to micro-blogging website to wish the birthday girl a year full of happiness and good luck. Genelia began her acting career with "Tujhe Meri Kasam" in 2003. She later established herself in Telugu cinema by acting in several Telugu films during 2003 to 2005. In 2004, the actress appeared in her second Bollywood movie, "Masti" which she co-starred with Riteish Deshmukh, whom she tied the knot with in the year 2012. Genelia received her first Filmfare Award in 2006 for her performance in the Telugu romantic film, "Bommarillu". Her breakthrough performance in 2008 was through the portrayal of the role of Aditi Mahant in the blockbuster movie "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na" Riteish and Genelia welcomed their first child, a son named Riaan, in 25 November 2014. Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ promotions give me, Genelia time together – Riteish
Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, who tied the knot early this month, are busy promoting their latest film “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya” and they are not complaining as it allows them to spend a lot of time together. “We had no time for ourselves as yet. But so far so good. We are really enjoying ourselves. We are promoting the same film, we are touring and getting a lot of time with each other. It’s fun. I am enjoying this process,” the 33-year-old actor said while promoting “Tere Naal…” on the sets of “Dance India Dance”. Directed by Mandeep Kumar and produced by TIPS Industries Limited, “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya” hits theatres Friday. Riteish is happy to have teamed up with Genelia after a gap of eight years. Their last film together was the 2004 release “Masti”. “After eight years, we have got a chance to promote a film together. I thank TIPS for this opportunity and for casting us together. Pretty excited about it,” he said. The couple, who got married Feb 3, debuted together with “Tujhe Meri Kasam” in 2003. After that Riteish featured in some rib-tickling comedies like “Kya Kool Hai Hum”, “Apna Sapna Money Money”, “Malamaal Weekly”, “Dhamaal”, “Heyy Babyy” and “Housefull”, while Genelia did films like “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”, “Life Partner” and “Force”. Besides “Tere Naal Love ho Gaya”, Riteish will soon be seen in “Housefull 2″.
Genelia on a denial mode
Genelia D'Souza, the 'Jaane Tu' girl who is making it big in Bollywood and Tollywood alike, has denied reports of any relationship with Ritesh Deshmukh. She teamed up with the actor for her first Hindi film 'Tujhe Meri Kasam'. 'I'm very much single. Ritesh is my friend. But that's it. I've no idea where these rumours emerge from. We're both very busy. When we occasionally meet up, we're normal with each other,' says the actress about the gossip on their relationship. Stating that she was never that keen on an acting career, Genelia says, 'But when I saw how I was appreciated down south, I fell in love with the industry. I've been lucky. I didn't plan anything. So far it's been an awesome journey.'
ASMM - A film running on Riteish Deshmukh's shoulders
Young Riteish Deshmukh has certainly grown up. Since the release of his debut film 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' around 4 years back, Ritesih has appeared in number of hit films, though they all of them have been multi-starrers. The good part is that in each of them, he has emerged as a dark horse and made his presence felt in a big way. Case in point being 'Masti' [Ajay Devgan, Viveik Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani], 'Kya Kool Hain Hum' [Tushar Kapoor], 'Bluffmaster' [Abhishek Bachchan] and 'Malamaal Weekly' [Paresh Rawal, Om Puri]. Even in his unsuccessful films like 'Naach' [Abhishek Bachchan], 'Mr. Ya Miss' [Aftab Shivdasani], 'Fight Club - Members Only' [Dino Morea, Zayed Khan, Suneil Shetty, Ashish Chaudhary, Ashmit Patel] and 'Darna Zaroori Hai' [Amitabh Bachchan], he has managed to keep his head high. Hence it doesn't come as a surprise when one sees the promotion of his upcoming film 'Apna Sapna Money Money' revolving completely around him. There have been no bones made about the fact that in spite of the film being a multistarrer again [Shreyas Talpade, Jackie Shroff, Chunkey Pandey, Rajpal Yadav and Anupam Kher], the one who is being considered to be most dependable and bankable of all has been Riteish Deshmukh. This is the reason why he is there all over. Pick up the print publicity material - he is the center of attraction there. Pick up any of the songs on air - he is the one to be highlighted most. Pick up any interviews - the ones with him find most prominence. The young man has indeed comes a long way and is set to reach further heights, what with more high profile [and multi-starrer] products like 'Cash', 'Dhamaal' and 'Hey Baby' coming next year.
Ritesh remains humble
Ritesh has made a remarkable improvement in selection of work from his Tujhe Meri Kasam days to this day. He had an amazing timing in comedies like Masti and Kya Kool Hain Hum. His recent release Fight Club has him performing really well. His next film Malamaal Weekly is also a comedy. The film is actually shot in a small time village and has realistic characters and timely humour. Ritesh is quite happy with his character Kanhaiya. It is different from his other characters. This film is serious business for him as whatever he does in the film is for the sake of love and not money. He is happy to share frames with likes of Paresh Rawal and Asrani, Rajpal Yadav and Om Puri. The other comedies that star Ritesh are Inder Kumar's Dhamaal, Anubhav Sinha's Cash and Sajid Khan's untitled film. Sajid Khan's film will be more of a family entertainer. Nothing much is known about his roles in the films mentioned above. Ritesh is among those actors who don't bother much about the length of their role in the film. They rather go for the quality of their character. Ritesh wishes to work in more films like Naach that give him an opportunity to work with filmmakers like Ram Gopal Verma.
