Sheryll Brindo with Sundar C in 'Vaada'

Sheryll Brindo, who made her debut acting with Vijayakanth in 'Arasangam' is on song right now. She managed to bag the female lead in Vijayakanth's forthcoming venture 'Engal Aasaan'. Even before the movie has been completed, she has been chosen to act with Sundar C for a movie titled 'Vaada'. Interestingly 'Vaada' would be directed by A Venkatesh, who is known for his racy masala entertainers. Sheryll Brindo has replaced Bollywood girl Geetha Basra, who was the original choice to play heroine but then had to pull out because of other commitments. Sheryll has stepped into her shoes now. Shooting for the movie is on at Ooty. D Imman, who is composing music for the film has remixed the yesteryear racy number 'Ennadi Rakkama' from the Sivaji starrer 'Pattikada Pattanamma'. Sundar C is probably the busiest hero in Tamil Cinema today with several films under his belt.

Meghna Naidu replaces Kiran in 'Vaada'

'Vaada' is a film that stars Sundar C and Sheryl Brindo. Actress Kiran Rathore was expected to play another heroine in the film. Latest developments suggest that Kiran Rathore has been replaced by Meghna Naidu. 'Both Sheryl and I have very important roles in the film' declares Meghna Naidu. 'I am also acting in S. A. Chandrasekhar's 'Pandhayam' which will be releasing next month. Many people think I feature only in one song in the film. That is not true. I am involved in many scenes as well' clarifies the actress. 'Pandhayam' stars Nithin Sathya and Sindhu Tholani in lead roles while Vijay features as himself in a cameo. Meghna Naidu also added that she is not able to accept many film offers as she has committed herself with television shows that involve traveling abroad.

The first part of National award winning director Vetrimaaran's dream project Vada Chennai is likely to hit the screens in 2017. Bankrolled jointly by Lyca and Wunderbar Films, the film kickstarted with a jail scene and Dhanush has allocated 200 days for this thriller saga. It also stars Director Siva, Andreah, Daniel Balaji, Kishore, Samuthirakani, and others. Vijay Sethupathi will play an extended cameo while Andreah will appear as his wife. He will be playing a don. With music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, the film is expected to be a hi-octane action thriller.

"I am not Vaala Meenukku director" - Mysskin

There are filmmakers, who would like to promote their films in all possible ways. However, Mysskin, the creative person with a distinctive identity, has a different approach. He wants his films to be talked for its creativity. That is why he is put off by the question regarding the songs 'Vaala Meenukkum' (Chithiram Pesuthadi) and 'Kathazha Kannala' (Anjathey). "I don't like to be known as a director of Vala Meenukkum song. I have done many unique things in 'Chithiram Pesuthadi'. I have put in a lot of hard work. If the movie is known for its song alone, it would a shameful thing for me. If the song is so important, then why should we make a movie?' asks the director. These are the songs that were included in the movie for commercial compulsions, says the director. Mysskin, who is gearing up for the release of 'Anjathey', is quite confident that his film would be received well for its creativity and the hard work put in by the whole team instead of just for any single ingredient.

Vetrimaaran's ‘Vada Chennai' has scope to be a multi-starrer

National Award-winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran's upcoming Tamil gangster drama "Vada Chennai", which currently only features Dhanush in the lead, has scope to include multiple stars, a source said. While there have been rumours that actor Vijay Sethupathi and Jiiva have been roped in to essay important roles, the source says otherwise. "The project so far only features Dhanush and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Contrary to the rumours, Vijay and Jiiva have not been signed on. But this story has scope to include multiple stars, so you never know who might join the project," the source, who’s close to Vetrimaaran, told. With a multi-starrer, though, there'll always be date issues, pointed out the source. "This is a huge project and since this will also be a two-part film, the actors are required to set aside months for shooting, and most stars will find it difficult as they're mostly busy with multiple projects in their kitty," the source said. The film, which will be jointly produced by Dhanush and Vetrimaaran, will chronicle 30 years in the life of a gangster.
