Veteran lyricist Valee, who has penned several thousand songs for the past four decades, underwent heart surgery at a private hospital in Chennai. The numero uno lyricist of Tamil cinema has worked with three generation of artistes ' right from MGR till Dhanush. Valee complained of chest pain recently and was immediately taken to a private hospital. He was urged to undergo a heart operation. The operation was performed on Monday and Valee is reportedly recovering well. He would be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days.
'Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti' release postponed
The release of Kunchacko Boban's 'Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti' is postponed. The movie was scheduled to be released on April 29th, Friday. 'Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti' is the debut directorial venture of Rishi Sivakumar. The release is postponed due to some technical reasons and due to theater strike. The movie will hit theaters in May first week. The news was announced by the director, Rishi Sivakumar, on his Facebook page. The film narrates a story that takes place in the 1990s in a village and is centered on a C class theater and the religious festival that lasts for 10 days. Shamlee is the heroine. Manoj K Jayan, Renji Panicker, Saiju Kurup, and Aju Varghese do the other main roles. Sooraj S Kurup is the music director and the cinematography is done by Kunjunni S Kumar.
Rare honor for Valee
Veteran lyricist Valee was presented the coveted Padmashree award by the President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam in New Delhi on Friday. At a grand function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Valee was presented with the rare honor by Kalam. A veteran, who has been working with three generations of music directors, Valee is a sought-after name in Tamil film industry. He has opened over thousands of songs besides poems and novels. He also took to acting and playing a cameo in Kamal Hassan's Hey Ram.
Vijay, Valee in Osthi audio launch
The audio of Osthi was launched in Chennai in a grand manner on Wednesday. The movie, a remake of Hindi hit Dabbang, features Silambarasan and Richa in the lead roles. Directed by Dharani, the movie has music by S Thaman. Vijay launched the album which was received by lyricist Valee. At the audio launch, all the songs from the Osthi album was played by live orchestra led by Thaman. Silambarasan also appeared on stage and sang Cute Pondatti, penned by him for the film. T Rajendher filmmakers K Bhagiyaraj, K S Ravikumar, actors Vaibhav, Premji Amaran and Jai also spoke.
