Vikraman elected new president of TANTIS
Vikraman has been elected as the new president of the Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association (TANTIS) after he defeated fellow director Visu by a thumping majority of 155 votes in the election that concluded Sunday. "Vikraman, who will take charge of the position soon, had a share of 717 votes over Visu's 562," a member of TANTIS said. Founded in 1970 by 20 assistant directors TANTIS held its first election in 1975. Vikraman takes the place of veteran Tamil director P Bharathiraja, who quit recently following an altercation within the association. Vikraman is known for helming films such as "Vanathaippola", and "Suryavamsam".

Vikraman back in action
Director Vikraman, who churned out hit films like Pudhu Vasantham, Poove Unakkaga and Suryavamsam, after a short break, may again join hands with Super Good Films to direct a film in which Jeeva, son of R B Choudhary would play the lead role. Buzz is that shooting would start once Jeeva complete Rameswaram and Thenavattu. It would be a perfect mix of love and family drama, which would give Jeeva a place among women audience.

Director Vikraman made his debut with Pudhu vasantham. Produced by R B Choudhary, the movie went on to become a hit. Vikraman followed it up with several hit films for Choudhary's Super Good Films which include Perumpuli, Poovae Unakaga and Surya Vamsam. The latest buzz doing rounds is that Vikraman will wield the megaphone for a movie to be produced by Super Good Films. Efforts are on to convince Jeeva to play the lead role in the movie. Vikraman's last venture was Chennai Kadhal starring Bharath and Genelia.
