All of us knows that the Chitti Robot becomes a villain in 'Enthiran' and reforms at the end before dismantling itself. '2.0' the mega budget sequel to the super blockbuster sci-fi flick will of course have the scientist Vaseegaran and a revamped version of Chitti in the lead roles. Chitti will reportedly have a complete positive character in the sequel.Superstar fans however will not miss the highly admirably villainy act of Thaliavar as a robot. Sources reveal that as per the story the Sudhanshu Pandey plays the son of the scientist Professor Bora character played by Danny Denzongpa in 'Enthiran'. He is also a wicked scientist and he creates a robot with nefarious characteristics using the codes of the robot created by his father. The source adds that this negative robot is also played by Rajinikanth.If this piece of information is true then fans will get to witness three Rajinikanths and two Rajinikanths as Robot in '2.0'. Amy Jackson the female lead of the film also reportedly plays a Robot in the film.It is worth noting that Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar plays the lead antagonist in the film directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions.
Rajinikanth's director ropes in Raghava Lawrence
Remember director Sundarrajan, who gave hit films like Rajathi Raja, Vaidhehi Kathirundhal and Payanangal Mudivadhillai? He is back after a very long time. Yes, he will be directing a film with Raghava Lawrence in the lead. The film has been titled Uyir Ezhuthu. The film is about friendship and its greatness. Uyir Ezhuthu will feature Raghava Lawrence, Keerthi Chawla, Vaseegaran, Devadarshini, Mayilsamy, Sabesh Karthik, Ramesh Kanna, Vijayakumar and MS Baskar. Rajarajan will handle the camera and GK will do the art direction. Music director Deva will compose music for the film. Looks like veterans are back into action.
Sathyam Cinemas returns to movie production
The owners of Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai are back to film production now. After their maiden production venture 'Vaseegara' starring Vijay and Sneha bit the dust, they went into a hibernation mode. With several corporate firms entering Kollywood now, Sathyam Cinemas too is contemplating a serious comeback. Talks are on to cast Srikanth in their film. Srikanth is currently acting in a couple of movies, 'Ettappan' with Navya Nair and 'Indira Vizha' alongside Namitha.
A special birthday for Harris
Director Shankar has been making films with A.R Rahman right from the beginning.The ace director must have felt that the music wizard would be the perfect choice for his kind of films that has grandeur, youthfulness, and technical excellence. However, when Shankar had to look for a different musician for his 'Anniyan', he chose none other than Harris Jayaraj, the sensational young music director, who made an amazing debut in Goutham Menon's flick 'Minnale'. The combination of Shankar and Harris rocked and the music track went on to become smash hit. Harris Jayaraj, who turns 33 today (January 8) has a unique identity. All his musical tracks for films would be a lovable mixture of melody and peppy songs. A careful look at the songs of 'Anniyan', for example, would reveal his versatility and his grip over various genres of music. All of his films have enviable variety and most of them are super hits. This success has made him as one of the leading and most wanted composers in South India. The beginning Harris, born into a pious Christian Nadar family in Chennai, studied at the Krishnasamy Matric School. He later obtained a music degree in London. His father, S.M. Jayakumar, is a film guitarist who was a noted musician and composer. Harris Jayaraj started his career by playing the Tabla and other percussions for many films under none other than the genius musician A.R Rahman. He then started composing beats for TV advertisements. Harris Jayaraj has been a keyboardist and percussionist for various music directors including A R Rahman, Karthik Raja, and Vidyasagar. He has assisted Adithyan in various projects like 'Seevalaperi Pandi', 'Asuran' etc. The break Goutham Menon's 'Minnale' in 2001 came as a break for the young musician. The music track was quite sensational with 'Vaseegara', turning out to be an outstanding song. He followed it up with his music for '12B', 'Majnu', and 'Lesa Lesa' and many other films. 2005 was a special year for him, as his music tracks for 'Anniyan' and 'Ghajini' were super duper hits. The song 'Suttum Vizhi sudarae', just like the enticing 'Vaseegara' became the song of the year. His successful run continues with many more films like 'Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu' (2006), 'Pachaikili Muthucharam' (2007) and the recent 'Bheemaa'. He is now working for 'Varanam Aayiram', directed by his favorite Goutham Menon. He has introduced many singers including Nakul, Saindhavi, Srilekha Parthasarathy, Madhumitha, Nikhil Matthew, Mahathi and Suchithra Ramanathan. This birthday has turned out to be a special one, as Bheema with his musical track is all st to enthrall the audience. Century for Murali
Veteran actor Murali is crossing a milestone now. He will soon commence shooting for his 100th film. Titled Karanam, it is directed by Vaseegaran. Introduced by Ameerjan in Poovilangu about a couple of decades ago, Murali had come a long way rendering several hit films. Karanam features debutante Nivedha opposite him. Nizhalgal Ravi, Thalaivasal Vijay, Sreeman are also in the cast. Music is by Srikanth Deva while A Sivamani handles cinematography. Karanam will go to floors this October. The movie is produced by S K Vijayan.
Simran in Samuthirakani's movie
Amidst several directors trying to get yesteryear glam doll Simran to act in their movies, director Samuthirakani has succeeded in convincing the actress to be part of his project. However Samuthirakani has chosen not to do a movie. It is a telefilm that centers around a woman who fights against injustice meted out to women. Simran plays the protagonist, who fights against all odds. Shooting will commence in Delhi soon and it be aired in a prominent television channel this June. Vaseegaran is handling the cinematography while music is by Kiran. Samuthirakani, a one-time associate of K Balachander, is currently directing the mega-serial Arasi starring Radhika Sarath Kumar.
