Adhisaya was introduced through the film 'Vattaram'. The actress has decided to be known in films with her real name Vasundhara henceforth and acted in the recently released film 'Jeyam Kondaan' as the villain's girlfriend. Vasundhara has now graduated to play heroine in the film 'Peranmai' that stars 'Jayam' Ravi. Though thrilled at the response she has received for her performance in 'Jeyam Kondaan', the young actress is keen on playing heroine from now on. 'No matter how well one performs in various characters, the adulation and prospects that emanate for heroines is missing. Therefore, I want to play heroine in films'. Incidentally, there is a whiff in the air that Vasundhara is being considered for a Mani Ratnam film. However, when queried, the actress replied, 'I have nothing to say at the moment'.
Beware - Vasundhara Das may just knock your doors
Bollywood continues to churn out fresh subjects as a part of experimental cinema on a regular basis. Now it's the turn of a film on the lives of taxmen who are required to perform a critical job in a selfless manner. What are the challenges they meet and the struggles they overcome while being exposed to temptation and resistance all the time forms the crux of the film 'Eik Dasttak'. Starring Vasundhara Das in the lead who has been a part of quality cinema like 'Hey Ram' and 'Monsoon Wedding', 'Eik Dasttak' is a Shekhar S Jha directed film [who is also the film's writer] and also stars Narendra Jha, Amit Behl, Murli Sharma, Shreya Narayan, Vineet Kumar and Yateen Karyekar in other important roles.
Vashundhara is here
If you thought Singer/Actor Vashundhara Das had quit working in films, then think again. She has been there on the south circuit all this while doing Tamil, Kannada and Telegu films. She did Tanuja Chandra's film Filmstar. She did not do too many Hindi films as the roles either were not meaty or they did not have substance. She has been on the Hindi music circuit giving hits like Chale Jaise Hawayein from Main Hoon Na. She recently delivered the title track for Darna Zaroori Hai. She will now be seen acting in a few Hindi films. She is playing the role of a wise, honest and inspiring Income Tax officer Akansha Verma in debutante director Shekhar Jha's film Eik Dastak. The film is about the unpleasant experiences of IT officials when they get head on with the mighty. She is working with Rekha and Mahima Chaudhary in a film called Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana directed by Amar Bhutala. It is a woman-oriented film. She also has Pathar Bejuban where she is playing the role of Kalpana Verma, superintendent of Police from a rural area in Agra. Pankaj Prakash is directing it.
