Aditya Om to play hero in 'Veedi Jimmada'

A film with Aditya Om and Mounika in the lead was planned by MA Rajkumar on the banner of Manasa Art Movies, under the direction of Balu. Producer says, 'We are considering the title of the film as 'Veedi Jimmada'. We will launch the regular shooting from the second half of August. The film would have call centre in its backdrop and would be made as a complete entertainer. We will take up shooting in Hyderabad, Araku and Visakhapatnam.' Story is by Manasa Art Movies, lyrics are by Chandrabose and Anderi, music is by Vandemataram Srinivas, while E Prasada Rao is the presenter.

Vedhika on the rise

Adding to the long list of heroines from North making a mark in Kollywood is Vedika. A look-alike of Bhumika, Vedika played the female lead Larencce Ragava's Muni. Vedika's performance in Muni won her appreciations and admirers. One among them was Silambarasan. The young hero impressed with her dancing skills immediately assigned her to play his heroine in Kaalai. Also Vedika is playing the lady love to Santhanu (actor-director K Bhagyaraj's son) in Sakkaraikatti. Vedika says, 'This new year has been very lucky to me. I have been getting movies from good banners. Thank almighty that a couple of big movies are in the cards'. Vedika is also playing the heroine in a Telugu movie.

Vedhika wants to do action roles

Vedhika, who caught the attention of film-buffs with a decent portrayal in Muni is eyeing to play an action-packed role. Currently busy acting with Shanthanu and Silambarasan in Sakarrakatti and Kaalai respectively, Vedhika is learning boxing. Acording to the actress, she plays a pivotal role in a Telugu movie titled Vijayadasami. It features her in a role that demands more action. Vijayadasami is an action oriented subject where the story revolves around Vedhika. Eager to fit into the shoes of Vijayashanthi is Vedhika.

Vedhika Going places

Actress Vedhika is going places now. The young actress, who hogged the limelight with movies like 'Muni' and 'Kaalai', is pinning high hopes on the upcoming flick 'Sakkarakatti'. Meanwhile her first movie in Kannada 'Sangama' is set to be released soon. Delighted about venturing into Sandalwood, Vedhika says, 'the storyline is captivatingly carved. My character has provided space and has a lot of scope for me to perform. I am sure that I will leave my mark with 'Sangama'. 'Sangama' casts Golden Star Ganesh of 'Mungaru Malle' fame and is produced by S V Productions. The filming of the talkie portions is complete and the film is slated for an October release.

Vedhika not afraid of being typecast

Vedhika Kumar has signed another period romance "Kaaviya Thalaivan" in the same language as she is not "afraid" of being typecast. "I take it as a compliment because I don't think anybody is bothered about such trivial things nowadays," Vedhika said. "I'm not afraid of being typecast because I believe period films are not easy to play. If I've been chosen again for a period flick, then probably I have the ability to pull off such roles," she added. She is paired with Siddharth Suryanarayan in "Kaaviya Thalaivan", which is being directed by National award-winning Tamil director Vasanthabalan. The movie is said to be based on the real life relationship between singers K.B. Sundarambal and S.G. Kittappa. Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman has been roped in to score music for the movie. "I don't have reasons to worry because I'm extremely happy that I will be working with a highly efficient team of Vasanth sir, Rahman sir and my producer Sashikanth. How many get such opportunity," said Vedhika, who is likely to start shooting from July. "I have already worked with a National Award-winning director in 'Paradesi', and now I will be working with one more award-winning director," she added. The film also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah and Anaika. Vedhika clarifies that she received several offers post "Paradesi", but she has been very choosy. "I received plenty of offers but nothing really excited me as much as this film. I want to do meaningful films and, therefore, agreed to work in the film. I think going back in time will also be a great experience to cherish," she said.

Vedhika ready for Mollywood

South actress Vedhika will make grand entry to Mollywood playing the led to Dileep in his new movie 'Sringaravelan'. This is the movie coming from director Jose Thomas, after their super hit outing last year for 'Mayamohini. The movie which is currently progressing at Pollachy will have Vedhika as a Mumbai based Malayelee girl. The actress who debuted into films with the Arjun starrer Madrasi had teamed up with the likes of Vijay, Simbu and ArunVijay in many films. Her latest Tamil movie is with Vasanth balan which will have her opposite Siddharth and Prithviraj.
